    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Mike Matson of Mike's Phat Frog is a scammer !!

Mike, absolutely, should not send the frogs back, if he is aware that they will not be accepted, but I know that, if they were/are sent, I could not live with myself, without doing something, knowing they were/are sitting at my local FedEx hub.

From what I saw, Mike did not back out.
Mike stated that, if payment could not wait a little longer, then he would send the frogs back.
This, eventually, turned into Mike stating that he will send the frogs back because Rick wants his money, immediately, without a further time extension given. If Mike has no money, I can see where he would think this is the only other option.

Now, it seems to have turned into a game of wills rather than trying to work things out.

I'm not choosing sides here, but this whole ordeal could've been avoided by shipping after payment was received. Life throws unforeseeable bumps in the road sometimes. you could've just agreed to hold them until he paid you, and if he backed out you could've just sold them to someone else
 
Nothing is stopping Mike from correcting this issue and sending the $400 he was going to replace for the frogs as an initial payment as well as a clearly stated plan as to when the rest of the unpaid balance will follow except for Mike not sending it. I know it's easy to say "just wait yet a longer time " or " Just take back the frogs " , but you're not out $2,250 and I'd like to see those of you who state to not have a bias when you clearly do enough to the point you want to make a new profile just to get in on this thread be as patient as I have been over $2,250. I like to give people the benefit of a doubt and he seemed like a straight up guy , but lesson learned I guess.

Correct thinking here.
Working something out with a set plan.
If Mike should fail to come through, on a reasonable plan (set at this time) that he knows he can follow through on, I would, then, say he cannot be trusted, etc.

Mike, since it appears that Rick is willing to give a bit more time, are you willing to work something out, re. payment, instead of remaining steadfast on sending the frogs back?

As much as I would have loved to see this blow up in the OP's face--believe me, it would have made a crummy day a little brighter--I'm just not seeing any of this making him look bad. It was made abundantly clear that he wouldn't accept the frogs back. He's owed the total sum of money that they'd agreed upon. No more, no less. It really makes no difference why he doesn't want the frogs back. If, having been made clearly aware of this, the buyer still chooses to return them, he's solely responsible for their impending demise.

We all have our limits, regarding just how much BS we're willing to put up with. After several failures to follow through, it would seem that Rick finally reached his. As much as I don't like saying it, I think Rick's good on this one.
 
This thread is a good example of why I never buy anything on terms. Too much risk that something will come up and then an otherwise beneficial relationship becomes something like this.

Rick those animals came in with a bacteria issue. I helped you treat them via Facebook messages and phone calls. I believe an earlier post shows that. The 4 that died had a bacteria infection that came from your place.

These frogs are being shipped to the address I have here on file. The 4 frogs that died will be replaced with frogs of equal or greater value.

I am done here dealing with you. It is not needed. Simply accept them back and resell them. They are bigger than when I first got them.

You wanted to be a jerk and freaked out on me. You bit the hand that was going to pay you. I will not be sending you any money period.

If you would like to take me to court on this please do so. I am in San bernardino county in Southern California. That will help you file correctly.

You will be receiving the frogs back. You know they are arriving on Tuesday. It is all up to you if you refuse to accept them. You can make time to accept those animals.

Also, as far as your geckos go. The bacteria that these frogs arrived with is already in your house.

No. He burnt that bridge a few days ago. Especially, posting all this garbage. He was unwilling to work with 2-3 more weeks and I also offered $100.00 extra for being late.

He knows he was making BANK off those frogs! That's why he is causing a huge fuss.
 
When Rick says this to me(view attachment) honestly it's good it's behind a keyboard. No one would speak like this to me in person.

With that being said this deal is done and over. It's a shame it couldn't work out but rick will have his frogs back shortly and that is all. The neglect is on his side if he refuses open the box of frogs when he receives them.

I will still continue to supply the USA and other countries with great frogs.

Why doesn't mike just sell some of the frogs in his possessions to create cash and send it to rick. Then the balance can be paid in the 2-3 week period. Solves all the issues. The frogs don't get sent to rick, rick gets some money sooner, and Mike has bought the 2-3 weeks he needs to pay the balance.

He admitted to knowingly smuggle animals from Australia ILLEGALLY and offered to tell me how to do it and get away with it , Please tell me how he's in any way honest. Also I stand by everything I said to him in that last photo because he's proving it all with the course of actions he takes. Should he attempt to ship the frogs knowing I won't accept the shipment he is knowingly endangering 17 "live" frogs and I will definitely alert F&W as to his neglect which recently in the U.S. was bumped up to a Felony per living animal. The Federal freeze on his bank accounts isn't coming from me , I just know about it. Even now I'm giving him a heads up by telling him that,

That message (that you attached) does not shed the greatest light, on Rick, but, with your refusal to pay, refusal to work out a payment plan, and by sending those frogs back (with the possible fate of certain death), it sure casts a bad light on you.

BTW When it comes to paying, or not, the health, of the animals, is a non-issue at this point in time. It was not an issue when you received the frogs, and you still spoke on your willingness to pay in full, so cannot become an issue now (after the time that has passed).
 
Even though I'm offering more time, Mike is sticking to his guns because this is what his intentions from the start were. He'd rather ruin his reputation completely before admitting what so many people see clearly. This is his way out of it and if I accept the frogs which I will not I would be allowing him to get away with being a scammer. For two people who you do business transactions with to accuse you of the exact same thing doesn't seem to be an external situation nor coincidence . I know what it is to be a rough situation , but I'm doing nothing but giving Mike countless opportunities to square up on HIS WORD and this is what he's choosing to do.
 
Also, legally, someone speaking to you, in a very disrespectful manner, is not a valid/appropriate defense for non-payment.
