Jim O said:I apologize for the off topic tangent, but I highly recommend Google checkout. Recently someone hacked my account at Buy.com and used my Google checkout account to attempt to buy a $2000 laptop and have it shipped to them in another state. Initially the sale was accepted but within one minute Google rejected the sale and froze the account, never even charging my credit card. I doubt that PayPal would have been as astute.
I have also switched my online business to Google Checkout wherevever possible. Plus, the Gmail webmail server beats the *insert expletive* out of the other "biggies". (yahoo, hotmail, etc.)
Back on topic. Wow, what a thread. Faunadrama at it's best, and I don't mean that in a bad way. True human drama can sometimes be truly compelling. Sometimes not. In this case, it is.
It makes me feel good to know that Mike Screwmaker is finally recognized for what he is. But, what really floats my boat is the way the members here are pitching in to help the victims.
Mike preyed on that compassion, but it will survive long after he is gone.
One of my favorite pastimes is kicking at the slats of the status quo, but this time, the status quo is working just fine. I may have to take back some of the things I said over the years.
Merry Christmas, all.
