    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I don't expect any of the mods to be on here 24/7 and give up their lives for this site (although Harald does come pretty close to doing that sometimes....). But this site is increasing in traffic steadily. In the last 24 hours we had over 900 posts made. That's a LOT of ground to cover, so there are going to be a lot of posts that will certainly not be read by any of the mods. Which is why we will need to rely quite a bit on the members themselves helping us to police the joint and report posts that appear to be violations of the rules. Certainly not all members will do that, but it will help quite a bit that at least SOME will.

But the whole idea of adding more mods is to be able to spread the load out more, so all of the burden doesn't wind up falling on just a few of them. What will eventually happen, if I don't add more mods in REAL SOON, is that those few will get burned out, resign, and then the load increases dramatically for those mods remaining. Which could cause a domino effect leaving me with no help whatsoever. And then I quit...... :yesnod: I really would rather not have that happen, particularly now when I am trying to smooth out a lot of the rough edges on this site, particularly with the BOI, and need the manpower (or womanpower) to help make that happen.

Also, bear in mind that I do not ask any mod to give up their participation here as a regular member. But obviously being a member who causes issues to erupt that other mods need to moderate will become an issue that needs to be resolved by a trip to the woodshed. :D So while a mod can wear two hats here, they have to be clear about which one they are wearing when engaging in a discussion.

Oh yeah, while I am thinking of it, when I do create the poll of candidates in another thread, what I might suggest is that all of the candidates make a post there giving a synopsis of yourself for other members who wish to vote on the poll so they will know a bit about you. Not everyone voting is going to know everyone, so this might help to show them a bit about yourself. But otherwise, please no campaigning on the site.

You don't need to be in blue to defuse a situation, any member here can facilitate a de-escalation using patience, humor, understanding.

An extra mod will certainly help the board, but having people who want to help can mean that a particular situation will never rise to the point of needing a mod and that would be a blessing to everyone.

I hope all who run will make it a point to stick around and help. If you are running because you love the site and want to help, you CAN help, ALL of y'all......

I will always be here as me no matter what. I don't think I will be voted in as I think others are more known here as active posters. I post when I have something to add to something. If I don't I read. I am here everyday but somedays never post.

I know the things Rich goes through. And I even told him in Daytona that I hand it to him for going through it still. You have so many people pulling you every way possible.

I like to think of myself as a person here that the mods never have to worry about. That alone makes me feel like I am helping.

I know it's been a few days & that my name only came up once (sob), but I would have to graciously decline. Although I wish I had the time to devote to something like this, I don't. Besides, I know how much I pm Harald with questions! I admire the job he does, and I hope whomever gets the nod does 1/2 as good as he does. I would nominate someone, but everyone I could think of has already been nominated.
When do we get to vote???

Gary, it seems like I saw a photo of Dave somewhere around here ... he resembled a goat and was wearing a flannel shirt. Even had the goat goatee! :yesnod:
