In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Need help identifying bogus seller (dale and valerie of NH and MA)

Wow.

That couple does not seem very professional at all. If I sold a green shirt on ebay, sent it to the customer, and they found out it was pink... and I said I was color blind and someone else told me it was green, does that make it fair to the customer? That is about how I feel about this transaction, although my example of my view on it may be a bit unusual ;p
If they didn't intend to reimburse you, they should have at the VERY least, told you that from the beginning. A year of skirting the bush seems a little redundant and childish; as well as their ability to spell.
I doubt you will see your money back from this couple and I am sorry for you. I have had similar things happen, but in all my experience and from reading forums (mostly Kingsnake.com forums) most folks with a good rep will almost always refund, or exchange for, a wrongly sexed animal; some even years after the transaction when they obviously are not obligated to do so. I hope your later dealings are better and thanks for posting for everyone else.
Steph
PS- I hate to say, but even though it sounds like you were going for possible hets with your breedings anyway, you really might want to be careful advertising since they really are only possibly, possible hets due to exposure to that male you thought was a gal. What a bummer! That guy really screwed you over IMO.

well one of the numbers still works. Anyone know about how to pursue these things legally? Tmobile has his address, but i have to convince them to give it to me so i can have my lawyer send him a letter.

Seriously, while I agree you deserve to get refunded the difference, $150 minus the $50 that you sold the male for equals $100. Do you honestly expect anyone to believe you are going to have your lawyer write a letter to T-mobile and then pursue the guy for $100? I don't know about your lawyer but that $100 would be gone after the first letter if mine was writing it...

both of them, but separately. I don't need any mystery clutches lol.

Not to make light but how would you know if she paired with the other male? Your male is a het albino so unless the female was also het the babies would be normal correct and possible hets. I think they owe you a refund but either way you still get healthy babies.

Thank you for your concern. I agree it would be a ridiculous endeavor if i didn't have access to free legal counseling.

Small claims court seems to be the name of the game. True they only owe me 100 bucks technically, but if i have to go to court i'm probably going to have to ask for some extra compensation for all the time and other crap this has cost me.

...although i'm still willing to settle for my refund, Dale.

i sold the male for 50 bucks.

Jessica, it does not matter if it was intentional or a mistake in sexing that ball python.

You should have never sold the male, the guy that sold him to you should have the opportunity to exchange his missexed BP for you.

*still waiting for my refund*

Jessica, you have put yourself in a tought situation! :(

You are demanding a refund, you need to return that missexed BP to get a refund(if thats at all possible at this point).

You sold the missexed BP, end of story.

he had a year's worth of opportunity. I was tired of feeding it and knowing I'd never get anywhere with this guy.

I didn't sell him until like, the fifth time i got the run-around about when the exchange was going to happen. He was taking up rack space, eating my rats, and I'd been trying to get this thing taken care of for MONTHS and MONTHS. At what point do i accept that they're just never going to do anything about this situation? What should i have done instead???

Further, since i got 50 bucks for the male, I'm only demanding a refund of the remaining 100 dollars. It says so in my emails to them.

Again, they had all the opportunity in the world to make the exchange! I was even going to go to THEM to get it done (seems at that point they should be making the extra effort, but i was willing to).

I guess i should just let the male sit in my rack and eat rats until 2012 and then decide just maybe they're not actually going to do anything about the problem?!

I hate to agree with Ed Clark about anything, but I do here. You no longer have the animal in question so the issue is moot. This doesn't change the fact that you were screwed, but you made the decision to accept what you had and sell it. As far as I am concerned, the transaction is now completed.

Have to say, it seems that way to me as well. I can pretty much guarantee though not many people will deal with them after reading this.

I personally saw them viewing this thread as well and they made no attempt to speak up. I can only figure that means everything happened just as you said it did. Bad guy status is very clear in my mind..

Once you sold the animal to someone else, you lost any possible entitlement to a refund. You no longer have the animal to give back to them in order to complete your part of a refund transaction - assuming they would even go through with the refund process of giving you your money back in exchange for the return of the snake. You can't expect to get a refund and then also get to keep the snake to sell as you please - doesn't work that way.

Well said Jim. :)

What you guys say makes sense. I guess i have to own up to my mistake (selling the snake) and accept the loss (even though it appears the loss has been on the menu all this time, and so now i get to eat it... cold).

Bloody irritating as it is, i guess it's better to let it go at a loss of 100 bucks than one of a great deal more money pursuing this in small claims court in the event that the judge has a similar opinion on the matter. I could get the snake back since I know who he went to, but the new owner really loves him and don't want what they did to hurt anyone else.

The moral of the story is: Don't deal with Dale Landon or his wife Valerie. If something goes wrong, you'll get the run around until you just can't run anymore.

c'est la vie
:(

Looks like you unfortunately lost out on this deal. But you could come back once per month or so with an update on the lack of progress of the seller making things right. That will keep bumping it to the top so people won't forget that they shouldn't deal with this couple. At least that is a free and easy way to keep their status fresh. It probably won't cause them enough trouble to make amends, but you never know...

One thing she seems to forget I got screwed too I was told by a vet it was a female it was not my regular vet but he is my vets partner so I took his word at it as for why I still have the vet check the sex of my snakes after 20 years of doing this well mistakes happen and aparently they do with vets also I am a small hobby breeder who works 14 to 16 hrs a day and have 4 kids to spend time with and support I tried to settle this with her on my last day off aug.3rd true I didn't send her my new address for this reason alone she posted my former address and I think if I did pay her she would have done this anyways anyways this is what I have to say for myself so everybody have a nice day

If all you do is make excuses no one will buy from you in the future. Maybe your vet did make an error; but the buyer should not suffer for it.
You should not come on here trying to absolve yourself for a problem that went on wy too long, you should come on here trying to problem solve so your next possible buyer doesn't wonder whether they are going to get what they paid for and if they don't, what kind of customer service they are going to get if they have an issue with the sale.

You should look into sending another female ball python, minus the price of the male that would have been sent back to you. I think this is fair. I think it would help your case greatly. Besides... In the end, is a reputation REALLY worth losing over a single transaction? If you are breeding these animals, i hardly doubt that females, normals of all things, are hard to come by....
