In Ohio business contract law... if any two businesses do a transaction.. and there is a legal dispute.. regardless of where the second party is.. they must come to Franklin County.. hence Matt losing his first case to have it judged in Florida. In business to consumer transactions, it is where the consumer resides.
Question though, wouldn't just a $2,500 lawsuit be handled in small claims court. If I remember correctly from college (I could be wrong here.. please correct me if I am) in small claims it is not the job of the court to actually collect whatever settlements or rulings are made. Liens would not be put on his home.. but.. granted.. all this is assuming that Matt would win.. and we know what happens when you assume!
