In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Neil Gubitz, Tampa Snake Pit (Good Guy)

Hey Darin,

I didn't know the lord was involved in this debate. I'm going to have to go with Jesus on this one :)

However, I have not seen anyone criticize Christ for making this thread or for posting his good experience with Neil.

Ross Buskard

Looks like I'll have to repeat myself yet again. I realize the posts are long and you probably skim through them. Sh*t happens. No biggie.

I can handle it just fine. People should be aware of both the good and bad as I just stated in my last post, I COMPLETELY AGREE WITH YOU. But derailing a thread goes a little too far. I was assuming comments and discussion on the original topic at hand would be involved but apparently I was wrong. I created a thread to facilitate more bashing of Mr. Gubitz and this was not my intention. If I could take back my contribution to the BOI I would. This is not what I wanted to see come out of it. I would have rather seen people take it for what it was, a single good transaction, and go from there. Maybe someday if the good transactions pile up it will mean more. Until then I feel this is just beating a dead horse. Simple cruelty. :(

Ray,

There is no doubt about it. Neil is a really nice guy. I liked talking to him by email, and I considered him a friend for quite a while, at least as much of friend as you can acquire on-line. I think he is very fun to interact with, and I am certain that he is very appealing in person...very charming.

But I am against him ever being allowed back here because he simply has no respect for this forum or any of us here. I know this because I still have all of the saved emails between Neil and I, and I have read and re-read that misguided PM Neil sent. I have no pleasure in saying Neil is a lying bag of snot, but it is the absolute truth, nonetheless. Neil is a great guy who will not mess you over on any deal, until it suits him do so. He will not lie to you, unless it suits him to do so. Neil will smile and laugh and acrry on with you, as he is talking about you behind your back to everyone else. Those are things that are true about Neil. I do not believe he has changed any of that, because those are character flaws, and we all know how difficult it is for us to change our character flaws. Some experts say they cannot be changed, in fact. I hold out hope, though.

I do not think Neil's problems are due to his sarcastic manner. That stirred a lot of newer people up for certain. However, after a while, you understood that "that's just Neil" and went on with it. What got Neil in trouble here was telling one huge lie after another and getting caught in his lies. This after he spent thousands of posts calling others out for doing the very same thing. Go back and search out Neil's threads. Not the ones about him, but the ones about others that he posted in. The attitude that some are chastising when it is directed toward Neil is exemplified and magnified by about 100x from Neil's own keyboard!

I say again: I am glad Chris got a good deal. I'm glad Rozann got some reimbursement for her deals gone bad. I am equally glad that you have gotten good results, Ray. I wish none of you ill will in any way at all. However, you surely cannot blame all of us who have dealt with Neil personally (whether through animal sales or direct interaction) and have been deceived, for viewing his "makeover" with a healthy dose of skepticism.

Ross,

Thanks for pointing out my error! As many times as I type His name in my sermon outlines, I guess my fingers just finish the spelling without my realizing it. Sorry for the error, everyone.

When someone posts about a person on the BOI, whether it begins as a GOOD GUY or a BAD GUY post is irrelevant as to the direction it will take. It is just the opening for a discussion about the topic at hand.

But I do request that everyone remain civil. If someone disagrees with your OPINION, then so be it. But do NOT attack anyone because of it. They have every right to their opinion whether or not it agrees with yours or not.

Do I need to close down the BOI for a period of time so you can all reflect on this without further distractions here?

I am busy with my own animals. I am late getting out the door for a show this weekend. I am battling problems that the CPanel people caused on my server over the last couple of days.

I am stressed enough right now to do something completely irrational......

I really hate to contribute to the length of a thread that is way way too long.

But what is one more post
If the horse is truly dead, is it not then, merely tenderization?

That is the funniest thing I have heard all day. Thanks for cheering me up.

and to the rest of you.
YOU ALL have the right to post.
I just wish you would ALL agree to disagree.

And I do apologize for my overall tone, I got a little too involved after realizing the mess this thread has created. People should be informed of the good as well as the bad, I just did not appreciate or aniticpate it straying so far from the original topic. Wishful thinking I guess :(

I'll keep everyone updated on future experiences and they can take it how they see fit. I will not let this keep me from posting the truth about our transactions.

Let's see, we've got a thoroughly tenderized carcass, plenty of people that could use a beer or three, and LOTS to discuss. Hmmmm, I say BBQ at Ritchie's.

What time should we be there? And someone bring chips, sour creme and onion. I'll man the grill for the first round of horse burgers.

Wes Pollock

Christopher,

Heck man, now I have to discard the post I just typed up! The way you say it now is much more respectful.

Well let me not throw out what I wrote, I took the time so I guess you may as well see it, but you get no more from me after this in the form of any argument.

***************************************************
Christopher,

I think you may have missed the point of many of the threads, that put Neil down, as to the relevancy of how the past effects the future or can at least be an indicator of what may recur in the future. You the fault people for doing that. Neil had a track record, at least an alleged one, whereby he made a few good deals where people would then post good guy posts, and suddenly there was a spate of bad deals. I think that is really the issue. People are concerned with when they see you post a good guy thread for him. They are worried that what they believe they have seen before, is beginning all over again. It did not happen once either, as I understand it, but at least two major times. If Neil were to keep true to old form, this would be the third (possibly the fourth) time. So why shouldn't others sound the warning bells? As I have said all along, I can only hope Neil and his ways have improved. If that is the case, I wish him well. If that is not the case, then too bad for anyone who makes purchases subsequent to yours who gets screwed.

By the way, you really get down on folks for bringing up past issues. If my explanation of why this is happening does not make sense, then maybe something else will. Discussing past issues is quite within the scope of your initial thread, you are the one who brought up past issues in that thread yourself!
No matter what problems or situations were presented in the past he has proven to be a good guy in my book.
Maybe that is one of the reasons people got so upset with you, that and the crap stuff.

****************************************************

Well anyhow it is nice to see things seem to be calming down around here.

Best regards,
Glenn B

Understood Glenn. Like I said, after that post my the majority were off the handle heated replies. Sometimes I let emotions get the best of me as well ;)

Thanks, Take care!

Darin, you make some very valid points. I agree with you on some. Makes you go Hhhhmmm????*Head scratching.... Note that I did not say anything has changed in regards to Neils business with other people. That I can't answer. I have always been happy with our business with Neil. Is this is only because it's to his advantage?? Valid question. However, I don't feel that way. It would seem any business transaction is advantageous big or small.? I did not defend Neil's actions in particular involving the PM business. As to wether there will be any more customer problems with Neil...Who knows? I hope not and I don't forsee it after the thrashing here!!! "The amazing merry go round!" Wes, it's now het. for dead horse. 50%, 66%, 100% ? Maybe the horse likes getting beat?!!! Thanks, Ray G HBR Of course I had to chime in, here goes another 40 pager!!

If you beat a dead horse with a blunt object such as a meat tenderizer and the horse has no reaction whatsoever, other than becoming more palatable, but, the onlookers to this beating, or tenderizing, do react, is the life force of the horse transferred to those onlookers and by that transference conitinuing the life of the aformentioned dead horse.

Now, since it is no longer exhibited the traits associated with life, breathing, drinking, etc, but is alive in the minds and memories of the onlookers, does that make it a het for live horse?

I think it does and, more over, I think it would be a 50% het, because the body would be dead but the spirit alive.

Now how to get that horse together with another 50%er is quite a problem. More fodder (ha ha) for the BBQ at Ritchie's.

Wes Pollock

But, is it smelly stimpy? Will it stay crunchy even in milk? Will it explode when fingers are pointed too hard? Gee I hate when the meds wear off! I vote for 50% but, I want to see documentation and pics of the dead parents! Mr. Ed WAS, good in the hay! LOL!!
Good horse post! Ray G. HBR Hey I got an idea when it gets too long...We can get another category for threads to be transfered to: The Dead Horse Forum

Or, how about "The Needs to be Pummled with Blunt Objects" catagory. I can think of several just recently that would fit most admirably in that one?

Wes Pollock

I think the point trying to be made

by some is two fold.

#1-If someone has a shady track record, and is selling an item you could get from 1,000 other places, why buy it from "shady?"

#2-If you do buy from someone, or some business that has a less than stelar track record, you are personally perpetuating the problem, by letting them know they can screw people over time and time again, and STILL, have people buy from them.
