In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

OMG! Going Downhill FAST!

The sensitivity report says that it's sensitive to enrofloxacin (Baytril). Perhaps you should bring this up with your vet? If he's not improving on Fortaz after 16 days of treatment, then you might consider changing antibiotics, or adding another agent. A fluoroquinolone (Baytril or Cipro) might be a better choice in this situation. Just a thought...

btw...check your PM's again...

Says the same for Piperacillin. Mighty expensive stuff, but it worked on Aurora where others failed. Hopefully it won't come to that, and the Fortaz will work.

Have they given you any instruction, or help with hydration? Seems to me that Fortaz is one of those that can have possible kidney, liver damage as a side effect. Extra hydration will help combat this.

Any improvements at all?

Didn't want to disturb him too much but........................

He's going to have an ugly head after all is done  but he's eating now!
Still another 3 shots to go for treatment.

I agree with rick on this, SO worth it!

Keep it up, im SO damn happy hes improved! I was worried that he might not make it, so, while he may not be out of the woods yet, at least hes on his way to being better!

This really made my day steve, thanks for posting it!

What's the current regimen, Steve? Did you end up adding another agent, or did you just stay with the Fortaz alone?

Ok...I was actually referring to antibiotics, but I'm sure that the NSAID is making him a lot more comfortable.

I'm glad that he's doing better. :)

Fortaz, metacam, soaking, draining, and high range temps seem to be working.
He hisses like crazy now when I go near him. He thinks he's getting another shot.

It's nice to see he's doing better:thumbsup: I hope he keeps getting better for you:)

Final Update

His head has swelled back up again one week after his last injection.
The treatment didn't work.
He will be euthanized by the vet tomorrow.
