I really did not want it to come to this but Ramon seems to not want to take responsibility for his errors.
Ramon had posted an ad in the ball pythons section of a bunch of snakes he had for sale. His post had two adult normal females that caught my eye. I started an email conversation to inquire about the snakes he had:

A few questions for you. How recent are those weights? You stated that they are proven, can you please tell me the last time they were bred, how many eggs each laid, and the hatch rate you had from those clutches? Any health issues? And last but not least, how are they on eating?
Ramon Acosta

to me
They eat like monster, all weights are recent, they were bred last year 8 eggs %100 survival rate, no health issues
At that point, I told Ramon I would take them. Ramon had them on his ad for $125 shipped. He stated that the weights were 1600 grams and 2200 grams.
And after reading your ad, it looks as though you have $125 shipped for them?

Spring hill Florida, **** I was going to ask if you could of done it over the phone thru Square up
He explained that square up doesn't have the fees that paypal does and he get the payment direct that way. I told him that I was more comfortable with Paypal and he said that was fine.
He was unable to ship that day do to other obligations. No biggy, life happens so I waited to the next day. He sent me the tracking info along with pics of the receipt and the package.
The package you see in the picture is a 11x11x2 box. How you see it on the scale is how I got it. No air holes, insulating foam, and certainly a bit on the small side to be shipping to be shipping two adult females.
Today comes and I get the package. I see the packaged is bulged a bit on the top. As stated above, no air holes and not a standard reptile shipping box. I open it and bring out the two juvi snake bags. I pull both snakes out of the bags and they are cold to the touch (I live in SD and the night temps are starting to dip a bit). I put them in an insulated box with some heat. I am looking at these two snakes and thinking they are a bit smaller from what they are advertised. I had them shipped to my work so I didn't have my scale and probes with me. I told Ramon that they looked a bit small but I would weigh them once I was off of work.

I just got the package. I do not have my scale with me but I will get weights and probe them once I get home. That box was fairly small to pack to adult snakes in. There were also no air holes or anything like that. The one gal also appears to be a bit small but as I stated, I will check the weights when I get home.

I don't know if you ever shipped snakes before but they do not need airholes. Snake bags and boxes allow ventilation. I've seen snakes packed tighter. Glad to hear you got them on time. I sent them from the shipping center to reduce stress and travel time which burned a lot of gas, that was the smallest box they had the larger box would of been more expensive to ship out which as you seen from the photos most rest came out of pocket due. I did say one female was in the two thousand gram range the other was a lil under but not by much. She also just out of shed which I didn't want to ship during and I never ship a snake out on a full stomach which can get them sick prior to my AD they went off feed and the larger female came out of shed over last weekend which I can provide pictures being I still have.
It should also be noted that the snakes were shipped standard overnight and not priority as stated. Back to the weights, I toss the small gal on the scale. She clocks in at just over 800 grams! Half the weight advertised. I toss the second gal on there, just under 1300 grams, also almost half the weight advertised. I then use sexing probes on the snakes. I will freely admit that I am a new comer at sexing snakes but they appeared to be males to me.
I send Ramon an email stating my findings and call my vet as I wanted a second opinion on the correct sex of the snakes. The vet that handles reptiles was off so I called one of my fellow local breeders for a second opinion. She sexed them as female so I accepted this. I let Ramon know and told him that the weights were still way off and these two would not be ready to breed.
We have a bit of an issue. I got home and took weights on these gals. One gal is 900 grams and the other is just over 1300 grams. I am headed to the vet now as I probed them and they appear to be males. I will keep you posted but this is way off what you said it would be.

I feed my snakes once a week. The size of the meal is dependent on the size of the animal. Breeding season starts in November. The issue here is that I was expecting two adult females of the weights advertised. These gals are both far under those weights.

Send pictures it's fine. You want to take it up with BOI fine. I gave you 2 options, I didn't insult you clearly, nor was there any name calling. All breeders know a female has to be 1200 grams and at least 2 years old for breeding. The females are 4 years old, and breeding season ain't for another 2 more months with full peak ovulation another 4 months away. Which females start getting a more veracious appetite by then. You feed them small prey fine but those females are use to taking on large prey. working in business along time and understand can't make every customer happy all the time. I did apologies several times and I'll do it once more, I'm sorry for the inconvenience and the defaulted equipment.

If you look at the pictures you can clearly see that the one gal fits in the scale bowl with ease. Not breeding size by a long shot. I also understand that you can breed at 1200 grams. Your yield will be low and there is more of a risk for egg binding which is why I prefer 1500 grams minimum. I was looking for bigger gals for more eggs.

Here is the ad. No where did it state that was FL shipping price. You did say local preferred. I will accept the partial refund as long as it comes with an apology

I issues several apologies already not another more will be issued.
