The reason why I knew it was the San Antonio Show is because Randall Ellis ONLY vends at my San Antonio show, BECAUSE it is my only "Hot" show. Ellis does not do my other shows that I promote in Arlington, Tx.

So Berry, you as a promoter it is you job to protect the people attending your show right? But you are willing to allowing a vender of the low caliber of Ellis to vend at your show? So you will place a known crook sell at your show, maybe the people that pat to enter your show may not like that.

As a promoter, I promote the show and bring the public in. I don't "protect" the public, I am not a law enforcement person or a "protector" of the people.

It's none of my business what Ellis does elsewhere, or who with.
And at MY show, he conducts himself honestly, and I have NEVER had a compliant about him vending at MY shows.
Why don't you come to my next San Antonio show June 9-10.
I'm sure you would be welcomed by a lot of folks.
BTW, there were only 3 vendors at the Tampa show who vended at my show and I will contact them tonight and ask about your allegations.

Saying something like "my buddy says you are a thief" is a third party quotation. There is no ownership to the accusation being made. Not allowed here. Let you buddy come in here and say it, otherwise it needs to remain unsaid.

Lawson is saying *exactly* that and refuses to even name a source. What would have been a pretty clear cut situation has been muddied... and muddied... and muddied by his obsessive involvement. Not that there was anything credible or trustworthy before this point, but the strength of his involvment is frankly sketchy as hell.

I think I'll coin a new term... anytime my dog hunches over and scrapes his butt across the carpet- from this point forward it'll be "Pulling a Lawson" His (the dog's) discomfort is paramount and he follows his base instincts, not realizing that he's making a bigger mess in the process. I am sure that I would just like I am at every other show I attend, I never have a problem and end up going out with many of the venders. People do not pay much attention to the BOI anymore it is no longer concidered a usefull tool as it was in the past now it is concidered more of a wild west type of place to go when there is nothing on TV. Now if you simply do not like a person you can come here make a out landish claim with no proof and it you have the right people in your corner the bashing begins. Many of the post in many of the threads have nothing to do with reptile,deals or nothing else that matters. Most of the people on this site that think of yourselves as BOI GODS have turned the BOI into entertainment instead of a working tool. But the funnypart is that when you actualy have a thread about a crook you all turn it around and change the subject, I know the Ellis is a buddy of your but people see past that and you.

Berry, as a promoter it is your job to make sure that "YOUR" venders are law abidding and that your customers that paid good money at your doors are safe from the likes of Ellis. But you knowingly allow him to vend at your shows knowing that he is selling stolen animals. So I guess it would be safe to day the you care more about money then the people. Every show promoter I know would not allow Ellis into a show after it was shown that he had not paid for the animals he was selling.

Hey, Neil, You forgot some points But I will help you.

5. That the Tampa cop talked to your last 2 managers (Angela and Jewel) They both said something to the effect that days before 2 of the burglaries you ask them to hold certains snakes for them.

6. They talked to the people at the Tattoo shop next to your daddys store and you were there minutes before the alarm was set off.

7. They spoke with Josie Arnold and were told that you offered her the same dragons that you reported stolen.

8. That only days after you burglaries you had th same snakes up for sale on KS.

9. That a PI was hired and intervirwed half of Tampa and showed that you did all the burglaries.

I am sure that someone still has the PI report and will be willing to post it.

Because of the upstanding reputations for justice and honesty that both the US and Canada have on the world stage, makes issues like this the African animal vs Ellis affair especially hard to stomach.

But the word bash is alittle strong, But I think that that this entire deal should be known to all people that may buy from Ellis. Every person that buys a animal from him is in away as guily as Ellis is. I say guilty because it is one thing to have fallen on hard times and not being able to pay on time but once Ellis sent money to TZ. for a second shipment when he owed money for the AA animals it became a crime. By buying animals from Ellis you are dealing in stolen property.

To all the reptile dealers in Texas, it is up to you to put a stop to this kind of thing because I am sure that this deal will be tossed back in you face when the house votes on your new HB. In away Ellis has given Rep. Harvey Hilderbran all the ammonition he needs topast this bill and take away you right to have reptiles and earn a living.

Berry, it this law passes how good will your Texas shows be?
Collectors, how will you earn money?
Breeders, will you move to another state?

This is the way you people need to look at this, stop defending Ellis and get him to fix it before it is to late.

David and Maria is in no way a small operation they are one of the oldest and lagest export companies in Tanzania and they do have power in Government and in the conversations that I have had with both of them they do plan on using it to the fullest, They have hired a attorney and they will get paid in full plus interest, the question is how will this deal hurt the rest of you?

I don't think it will end well for the Texas reptile cummunity.

To blame Randy for HB 1309 is not right. I personally am aware of sales Randy has turned down because he felt the buyer was not capable or experienced enough to keep the animal in question. Granted the buyer probably went elsewhere but Randy did the right thing.
