In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Repti-Racks- Bad customer service

But thats not what they do ! Its always anothers issue and not theres. I had issues with them also. I agree with the bad customer service !!

There are way better companies with better caging. A little more, but worth it.

agreed they just make excuses or ignore you after x time, when i had my issues with them i went on and bought a critter condo due to the long delays etc,i spent 150 on the condo and the cage from repti racks was i believe was around 350 or so,i asked them to just give me 150 back and they could keep the money and the cage and they refused that offer as well.so had to re sell the cage to someone else which i lost money on anyway.

just do business else where.

You've got a lot of nerve to post about that transaction. I'd think you'd want to draw as little attention to that one as possible... :shrug01:

Why he felt the need to ask the question isn't terribly relevant. What is relevant is that a customer needed what he felt was crucial information, and instead of giving a direct answer, you sent him on a goose chase that covered ground he already found to be useless to his needs. As far as I can see, it all comes down to the following question:

In the time it took you to link him with your site, you could have just given the answer he was clearly looking for. His question didn't indicate a need for the full rundown. He had a specific question which you didn't answer to his satisfaction. His reaction may be a little drastic to some, but, as with your continued insistence on spamming the thread with "non sense" that you seem to think proves some point, you chose to make the situation more difficult than it needed to be. I don't even particularly like the guy, but I can see his argument for saying your customer service was lacking.

Moral of the story: Next time someone writes you with a simple question, maybe just answer it directly. :shrug01:

Well thank you. Its nice to be hated by someone you never met. Another fan of honesty in NC .:hurray::hurray: . I cant say i dont like you since i dont know you, have never had any business with you and it looks like i wont. That hurts.

Wait...I'm confused (shocker). Wasn't that above quote directed at/to Repti-Racks?
For the most part. I did, however, take my editorialization a bit further, by mentioning that, even though I dislike Rich, I agree with his assessment of Repti-Racks' customer service. Guess it slipped his mind that he's long since expressed his righteous indignation via PM. When it's not much of a mind, I guess things can slip pretty easily.

Shannon, I appreciate your comment more than you know. Not only did it provide me with hours or non-stop entertainment (read migraines) but I also was directed to another BOI inquiry about repti-racks in which our friend Mr. Almando up there actually made me sympathize with the accused 'Bad Guy.'

I am glad you appreciated it! Honestly it just ticked me off to see someone touting that kind of behavior as if any of it was acceptable.

Thanks again Dan. You are mature ! Will you not liking me come up in every ad now ? Dont push it buddy.

I thought this thread was about Repti-Racks. Threatening someone and pounding on your chest over the internet isn't very mature, either.
Can this get back on track for those of us who are interested in the actual thread?

Almando, don't hijack this thread. You've already got one about repti-racks here:

I am pretty sure I read in the above link on page 3 where Steve with Repti-Racks promises that with the use of a new manufacturer the delays and super long lead times would be eliminated (as well as some other post buried in that super long thread).

Was there ever an improvement in service starting in January 2012?

How's their record holding for 2013? Doing any better? Is the OP of this thread I am currently reading just an isolated incident?

obviously not if he keeps making excuses on the delay for this buyer as well........

I figured since this was back on the main page I would reply. Not to bump the thread but just to let my own experience be known.

I am currently still waiting on 1 of 4 cages ordered back on February 17th by my boyfriend as a gift to me for our Valentines Day/Anniversary. I too read that he was using a new manufacturer and that lead times would be shorter. At that point the only problem I had read was that the lead times were pretty long and one person I remember had an issue with rusting bolts (which were also supposedly fixed but I can't comment either way) but the cages were nice, so I figured that if the problem was fixed, I had nothing to worry about. Here's the post to another person where he says that he was fixing that problem:

Actually your wrong you contact us several times going back and forth changing the size remember you stated it here. You purchased it through our web site and our cart wont let you go further in till you checked the box you read the terms which state all about time lead times in writting and in a video and why their not set in stone and we only approx the lead time to the best of our ability as we cannot predict the future in this biz thats why their approx" Due to past manufacturing we used causing many delays for us along the way we are now on with a new manufacture to meet out growing demands and a new lead time guarantee and policy is in play for 2012.

First I should say that I never changed anything on my order except for the first day when the order was placed and that was because he found that I had ordered the cage with the wrong kind of dividers and that he would fix that on the order. Other than that, nothing was changed. The lead time I was given was 6-12 weeks. We're now going on week 24.

The first of my cages (2 of the 4) arrived May 31st. The second shipment (1 cage) arrived July 11th and needed some work. The top of the cage was loose and one of the corners was badly chewed up. They probably got that way during shipping but he told me that a Fedex claim would take another few weeks and that the damage can probably be fixed. He recommended some liquid nails and to sand out the scuffed up corner. I'm going for the self fix option rather than have to wait again on the cage.

He never sent any tracking emails, updates, or even an email to let me know they should be arriving soon even after I told him I failed to get any tracking email for the first cages (in case anyone is wondering, no they were not sent to my boyfriends email because we checked and also because my email is the one used for the order). I only get an email if I email him first to ask when my cages should be arriving.

I don't believe that he's trying to cheat anyone. I do believe that he either takes his sweet time or that he really needs to hire some help if building them is taking this long or go with a different manufacturer if that is still the issue. Don't let the quoted text fool you, it still takes forever to get your cages.

I would say I spent a pretty big chunk of money and had plans to buy more but I'm not so sure I want to wait this long for another order of cages. He seems like an okay guy and the cages aren't bad (with the exception of the Fedex mess) but I don't think it's worth the wait in my opinion.

I ordered a single unit from Cold Blooded Enclosures formerly Repti-Racks back on July 16th. I paid for the shorter turn around time of 14-30 days. Currently we are sitting on day 25 for my order if my math is correct. Hopefully by Tuesday, which will mark 30 day mark as promised I will have an enclosure to show everyone. We will see what happens, I will keep everyone updated.

Thank you for the update! I didn't realize they are now charging for expedited build times. If many people do that it seems like those that don't will have to wait even longer.

I assume that to be the case. I inquired before I made my purchase via email. I was told there was no orders on the "QUick-Ship" list at that time so I would be first in that category. Their "Quick-Ship" option is 14-30 days. Standard option is 31-60 days.

"Quick ship" must be something new because we were never offered that option when the ordered was placed back in February. I don't think we would have paid extra anyway but either way, I think 26 weeks is far too long to be waiting on a $1300 order that was paid in full, upfront. I hate to see what the lead times will be now for those that don't pay extra for the quick ship option. :ack2:
