In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

If he can work in out on the phone he should be able to work it out in writing here. I personally would like to see him post here to resolve the situation with Kelly and any others that have come up without the sarcastic remarks. I think Sammy said it already but it is how you handle your complaints and problems that shows us the kind of business he is running.
Kathy going to you is a step but I'm not convinced in the right direction. What if I have some shipping concern that gets ignored and I post on here about it is he going to call a 3rd party to deal with me?

He said he wanted to talk to individuals individually, not on the BOI. I don't know why he and Kelly couldn't seem to talk together. He says he is usually very prompt about answering the phone or returning calls, and that he only didn't return one call to Kelly. She said there were more calls not returned. I have no idea whose memory is correct. Give him a call and ask him - maybe he can answer your questions. If he is willing to answer all questions on an individual basis, but not on the BOI, I don't think that is necessarily a hanging offense.

Sorry, but no. For several reasons.
Quite frankly, I don't give a rat's behind if someone doesn't like tbe BOI. It has a job to do, and for the most part has been doing it very well for a lot of people. Sure, some eggs have gotten broken making the omelette (where IS that spell checker!), but that's just the way it is. Anyone is welcome to ignore it, but ignoring it is not going to make it go away. If it paints an ugly picture of someone, don't blame the paint for being the problem.
Mr. Young had no problem posting on this site when he wanted to slap at the BOI and many of the members here, and now wants to use a mouthpiece for "the rest of the story"? Sorry, that just is not going to cut it with me.
The "anonymous third party rule" was really made to keep people from posting quotes without any ownership attached to it. Something on the order of "I heard your mother wears army boots", or some such nonsense. But in this case, there is absolutely no reason at all why Mr. Young can't post his own messages instead of relying on someone else to do that for him. And I'll be quite honest about it, I really don't WANT someone operating in this manner here. If someone can't stomach to post on the BOI, then I cannot "stomach" to read what they have to say through someone else.
Nothing at all against you Kathy, as you are only trying to do a good deed for someone else. But I am not inclined to allow someone to use you here in that manner. Not the least of which is that if things still continue to go sour for Mr. Young, you may very well get caught up in the resulting flak for all your trouble. I'm sorry, but I just do not want that to happen.

A hanging offense no not in my opinion but this the forum that was chosen by Kelly to get his attention after the one on one didn't happen. He needs to address the public about it to show us who he is.
It took David 5 days of this to say he thought it was for $250 instead of $750? If he said that FIVE days ago, or even 3 days ago, OK, but I have an extremely hard time believing him now. I think he finally figured out how badly he has hurt his business, and is desperate to salvage what small bit of creditability he can.

I have no personal, vested interest in the outcome either way. I just want to see the best possible outcome for all involved.
I rarely get involved in these disputes- too much drama for me, although I like reading them to know who to deal with (or recommend), and who not to. Thanks for making that available, Rich. I only posted on this thread because I really believed in David's "mission" (Reptster and its shipping service, even though I don't use it as of yet) and hoped there is a way to save it. Cathy, I am so glad that you and Billy were able to agree on getting this posted up. It shows that there was a pattern for Mr. Young before we ever entered into our agreement, and that it is NOT about "screwing the little guy," as he seems to have no issue even doing this to someone with such a big name as Repticon. I have enjoyed our conversations, and am seeing a great friendship in our future!
So that everyone knows, Cathy contacted me shortly into this thread and told me about her issue, but we decided to keep it private until the Repticon team could make sure they had all of their details together, and the show in Tallahassee was over this weekend. It was not my place to bring this to light, and that is why I kept quiet.

Kathy, I feel so bad for you right now, and I want you to know that I have no ill feelings towards you whatsoever - you have done a brave thing by posting your account, and I know it had to be difficult for you in ways people cannot understand. You have been put in the middle of a situation simply because you have a good heart. You have, understandably, had so much hope for David and Reptster, and I think that David may be preying on this. I do not fault you for your feelings, I just think that, as you said, you are letting your emotions get in the way of logical thinking.
I have a few things that I would hope you would think about. Call it food for thought. I am trying to think of these things as an outsider as much as possible as well, to put some perspective on it in a different way that I normally would.
1. Why is it, that if David is so responsive to phone calls, and is so willing to call someone not directly involved, can he not pick up the phone and call me? He cannot say he does not have my phone number, it is posted all over this thread, as well as in all of the emails I sent him.
2. On that same note, why can he not email me? And why is it so important to him to deal with people on the phone instead of by email? All this does is create a better environment for a "he said/she said" situation, and I would think he would NOT want that to happen anymore than it already has.
3. Why is he so willing to email these "missing emails" he claims he has to you, but not forward them to me as I have asked several times in this thread, or to post them publicly so that the headers can be verified as I did with Dennis Hultman? He doesn't have to say ANYTHING, just post the emails and the headers.
4. Why would he call, of ALL people, the one person who has shown her heart on her sleeve the most, the one who has obviously been heartbroken by what David has done, above anyone else? Does the psychology of this not seem clear to you? No offense, but you are the easiest "sheep" to have the wool pulled over your eyes, because you WANT this to be true so badly (the communication being amiss, etc). I find it deplorable that he would do this to you, as he is preying on your kind and good heart, as well as your sense of right and wrong, and is doing nothing but twisting you in knots.
5. If he sends you those emails, please forward them to [email protected]. I have repeatedly asked Mr. Young to provide me with the emails he claims he has, but to no avail. As to the emails themselves, I find it interesting that he once again claims they exist, but will not post them publicly. Please ask Mr. Young to post the entire headers (the example of them were in the post by Dennis with my emails) so that I can forward them to someone who knows how to verify or deny them to be true. I will still state again with my hand to God that I never received any emails from Mr. Young that I have not posted. Anyone who knows me can verify how much this statement means.
As far as Mr. Young not returning only one phone call, that is not true. Mr. Young did not return ANY phone calls, hence the numerous emails I had to send. Why would I say "I have been trying to reach you for several days leaving you messages" if he had been returning calls? I know that having 5 kids, a breeding business to run and a show to do, I am not getting so senile that I cannot remember phone calls that take place, ESPECIALLY business calls. I find it funny that NOW he remembers returning all of my phone calls. And again I say that if he had an issue with the amount of sponsorship, he should have communicated this to me in some manner, but he did not.
I will not even respond to how I feel about how unprofessional he was in his original post, but I think that not responding to the party involved (in this case, me) directly, either by phone or email, or by posting here publicly, shows even more unprofessionalism. If he is such an open book, then why is he suddenly closed himself off to his own world of the phone where he can single people out and it is much easier to manipulate thoughts?
My last thought on this is what someone else has commented on (forgive my memory right now, and I don't feel like going back to find who) - I said I would post publicly if a resolution was found. IF Mr. Young still wanted to find a resolution to the issue, he would have contacted ME. My only thought is that his main goal is to save face in any way he can WITHOUT resolving it. I hope he understands that the people here, and ALL OVER the reptile community, will not stand for it.

FWIW, I have had a few dealings with David in the past, and even met him in Daytona. When I had a problem, it always seemed he went above, and beyond to help me and fix that problem. As I was reading this it was kinda hard to take. Where as Davids response with the crazy presidential emails made me laugh out loud, It did come across as a snub nose at the comunity. I expected to keep reading and find where he cleared that up, but I read to page 65 and got tired of reading. Not that my opinion means much but thats what it is. I hope you guys come to a agreement on this soon.

First - let me say that I have no vested interest in this either way. I don't know any of the parties involved and do not use Repster in any way. In fact, other than a handful of people in this thread - most of you probably don't even know who I am.
That being said - I have followed this thread and its spin offs on various other forums almost from the beginning. I thought long and hard about if I should even post a response here.
When Repster started up and offered shipping for the "little guys" I thought it was a fantastic idea. I didn't sign up for it as we are already certified to ship fedex and I honestly didn't see a need for it but agreed that it sounded like a very good idea for those who needed it. But I have to say, after following all of this - I would never personally use the service. I see a multitude of bad business dealings posted throughout here that baffles my mind as to why anyone would still want to support Mr. Young or his enterprise. I honestly don't understand how some people can still be "sticking up for him" after all the examples posted of how underhanded he has been. Especially considering it is not that difficult to get certified to ship via fedex and the potential discounts available per the message posted by Cheryl Marchek quite a ways back.
But even after everything - the bad business dealings, the slap to the face of Rich and Fauna and the BOI, the lack of proof forthcoming from Mr Young - I think the thing that really bothers me the most is this most recent occurence with Kathy.
I know Kathy personally from meeting at several shows and dealings with her via CS. She is one of the most respected and upstanding members of the herp community and just an all around wonderful person to boot. To see what I perceive is an obvious abuse of that by Mr Young just really rubs me the wrong way. I agree completely that if he can call Kathy and plead his case that he should be able to step up to the plate and contact Kelly directly or address the situation here in the public forum as it should be. Kathy should not be dragged into the middle of this just because he doesn't want to deal with it himself. This should be his "battle" to fight - not hers. I understand that Kathy wants to believe the best of everyone and just wants to help make the situation right - but I personally believe he is taking advantage of that and trying to paint himself in a better light through her.
I too like to try to see the best in everyone and try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt. But I am sorry to say that I have seen nothing to even somewhat redeem him anywhere throughout any of this ordeal.

I don't think any of us here on the BOI should have to chase him around by phone for an apology for the things he said. As far as I'm concerned, and I know I'm cynical at best, he just added 'coward' to his growing list of hats. If anyone was contacted, it should have been the OP who has been waiting patiently for something, anything from this guy.
