    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I know this has been partially said, but I think we need to state that for one thing: This was not a case of a sick animal being shipped, and what a shock a sick snake. This snake was exchanged in person. I don't know about you people, but when I buy a snake in person I pop the snake to get a good idea of sex, and to get a good view of the vent area. Next I examine the snakes body for scale damage, then check its eyes, then guess what? Examine the mouth, and nose! If you don't know how, or are afraid to examine a bp's mouth you shouldn't be in the breeding hobby/business. Next put the snake to your ear. A snake that is within a week or two of dying of a ri will have abnormal breathing ( clicks, hissing, weasing ). Come on people this isn't science it's common sense. So if this snake was sold to you in this condition you have your middle man to blame for about 80% of the problem.

Also I'm sure you trust your middle man, but without some kind of story coming directly from him he could have kept this snake in a dresser drawer in your basement for all the seller know.

Then we get to the drug. I don't care how common the antibiotic is. The fact is that it's a prescription med that is being passed around from one unqualified "herper" to another. Also if you're a diabetic you should know more about injection sites. You should see the needles I use to vaccinate pigs! It's not always the size of the needle.

As far as retic88 goes: Like Dean ( StrictlyExotics ) said there were things prior to this that put me off of giving this guy my business, but wow what a nail in the coffin.

So in summation: The seller is a bad guy as we can clearly see, but wow look at your lax approach starting with the pick up of this snake, the "street doc" medical approch.

It's just my opinion, and I may get in trouble for saying this, but THE THREE OF YOU KILLED THAT SNAKE!!! Plain and simple. I've read this whole thread. Every word, and I am disgusted at the three of you. I hope nobody buys a single animal from any of you again.
 
Well it would not surprise me if the problem originated from paul and his place. If anyone can recall I was questioning his husbandry practices during his thread he started on Pete Martinez when he was showing dirty cages with multiple animals housed in them.

While the enclosure pictured here in one of his classifieds is clean it is housing what looks like 3 large burms. (another cleaning/groups photo opportunity there Paul?)

I have witnessed Paul purchase animals from vendor "x" (who only flips animals), watched him put a live mice in the containers with these new purchases without removing the bedding stating vendor "x" doesn't feed his animals too often.

So if he is willing to purchase animals from someone who obviously doesn't practice proper animal husbandry or feed on a regular basis, feeds new acquisitions in deli containers with bedding (and not just aspen bedding but what looks more like landscape mulch), does not seem to have problems cutting corners and now he is having an identity crisis. So in summary, Paul "whoever he is today" is someone to avoid. :NoNo:

I totally agree Dave and absolutely remember that conversation with Paul. I am pretty sure my gut feeling with this guy is the right reasons as to why I would never buy from him.
 
Okay guys, I just got back from the vets. I never received anything like this, so I must have only gotten a receipt. First page will show where they printed this document yesterday. Second page is useless, there is no information there at all. The third page is the chart he worked from, I'm guessing. Doesn't say much, other than Resp infec. Then the weight of the snake. Lastly it gives the information about the prescription.

It doesn't say much, other than I took the snake to the vet and he said it had a RI.

If i'm reading the doctors notes correctly, at the top it says Resp. Infection, in different handwriting than what follows. I'm guessing your appointment was at 10:45 and that's what you came in for.

Then, it says Pneumonia, followed by the weight of the snake.

This does prove that you took the snake to the vet and it also proves that it was sick. Pneumonia is very lethal if not caught & treated early enough. If the snake truly did have pneumonia, which is what the notes say, then that alone is enough to kill the snake.

Dave, tbh, that doesn't say much. It also says it doesn't weigh anything. When I go to my vet for just welness checks they wrote my albino retics as ball pythons that were also brown. :shrug01:
 
Patient info, look at weight. Just sayin that sometimes the vets don't take accurate info.

Check back a few pages Deb. It weithed 1190g when he brought it to the vet. Paul claims it weithed 1072g at time of weight (BEFORE getting fed a small a rat or two(can't remember the prey item)) at any rate, is it so hard to fathom that the snake gained weight to said 1190g before shipping?

The ad "SAID" but the picture showed different on the scales. Harald explained the timing of the posting of the Ad pics some time back about the posting of the pictures..may be of significance? :shrug01:
 
I agree on the color thing, they may not have had the morphs in the computer as an option. My vet does that to me all the time and it drives me nuts but is just a technicality.

A couple weeks ago my rare Guatemalan blue crown mealy turned into a blue front. :angry:

Question that I don't think has been addressed. Has a necropsy been done on the animal?
 
Why is it that Paul can bump his python ads, but he can't come here and answer the questions that he is being asked?
If someone is caught using a bogus name, do they get banned, yes or no?

There spose to get Banned I belive I seriously doubt he cares or he would be here explainig that one I belive he has been givin fair enough time to explain this Unless he already has in private with a moderator but I belive something would of been said if that was the case. Maybe a Temperary BAN until he decides to speak on his on behalf is needed? No hold up if you dont want to explain your reason on that maybe you dont care if you get banned?? But then it probally be a little harder to sell your snakes and just think of the Potential Customers you may have reading this.
