Here is my take on the this. Bobby posted a huge mother of a tegu along with egg size comparision and hatchling photos.
The hatchling photos are where I think Bobby has the real Chacoan and Rick has the so called "normal" tegus.
Normal Argentine tegu's have green heads when they hatch (just like the ones Rick posted photos of) BUT Bobby posted photos of ones WITHOUT green heads as hatchlings. I may be off base but, to me, that shows that these are 2 seperate types of tegus.
The hatchling photos (even if they were pics of hatchlings) don't prove that the animals are Chacoan, just that they are different. You know balls, pretty well so I will use them in an example. Let's say you import a 7 ft ball python from Ghana. It's the biggest ball you have ever seen, and she lays HUGE eggs. You start calling them "Ghana Giants". Now, sure, she is a giant, and she is from Ghana. Does that mean that every ball from Ghana has to be giant? Does it mean that everyone who has smaller snakes from the same region is a liar when they say they came from there? Would you ask them to prove that their animals came from there? If your female had a butterfly shaped patch of scales on her belly, would you tell everyone that had a Ghana ball that didn't have the patch that they have to prove theirs came from Ghana?
Bobby may have real Giants, but he can no more prove that his are the only true Chacoans , than he can prove Rick's aren't. If Bobby can say without a doubt that Rick's aren't Chacoan, then you would think he could provide proof that his in fact are. People tend to have more information about snakes they have than about those others have. Pictures don't prove locality, and coming from South America, I would say neither would paperwork. Bobby's are Giants. Maybe even Chacoan Giants. That doesn't mean that Rick's aren't Chacoan average.
