In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy RodentPro- Zoonotic disease warning

Our snakes know good product when they eat it! We raise our own food and supplement with Rodent pro. We sometimes order from other companies (sometimes a better deal comes along) and the snakes more often than not will turn their noses up on those rodents. They don't turn their nose up at RP.

For what it's worth, it's not unheard of for snakes to eat carrion on a regular basis. Sorry, I had to be "that guy". :shrug01:

I don't order from this company, and I haven't for years. This is mostly due to the same lack of quality control mentioned by others and this outbreak solidified that choice for me. I think there are better vendors out there but RP seems to be the cheapest and vends at shows for pickup. That alone is worth it to folks.

and....? They always send a mass email out with their sale prices every week or so.

They are not the only rodent company that does this either.;)
Don't know if it was a complaint but, if, by chance, someone dislikes receiving these mailings, it is rather easy to simply ask to be removed from their mailing list.

Yeah rodent pro is a good source! Might want to try big cheese rodents also but their rodents are small. A 90gram rat isnt a medium to me... which most of their mediums are.

I would never purchase from rodent pro again. We bought about $800 worth of rats last November, and immediately I found the quality to be less than satisfactory. I had simply planned on not buying from them again until I thawed out a bag a couple months ago; At least three of the rats had their limbs severed or hanging by a thin thread, and one rat was literally decapitated. I don't even know how that's possible. I have pics if anyone wants to see them, I don't want to make people sick for no reason though.

If you want the highest quality rats/mice I have ever seen, check out Professional Reptiles located in Reno NV. They're literally top notch. There's also a place called Layne Laboratories that I spoke with at a show recently and their feeders appeared to be extremely clean and well-packaged as well. I haven't purchased from them personally though and so can't make a fair assessment.

These days I use Glacier Rodents out of Enumclaw, WA. I do believe they ship and they're pretty fantastic.

Not going to argue but will state i have never had a problem with rodent pro. Their rodents are descent size and i like that. Usually limbs are missing when the rodents are smaller because they get frozen and they naturally break off from moving them around it happens and aint no big deal. If smalls on up are missing limbs then maybe their freezer is really cold of the dry ice cools them so much that the limb breaks off. Sometimes this is unavoidable. Not like they are cutting the limbs off prior to freezing.

The only negative things i can think of are, shipping costs can be insanse depending on where you are located, and they dont vacuum seal their bags which again isnt a big deal.

Either way we dont have to worry about buying rodents anymore since we produce our own. Bad experiences happen from even the best of companies. Just because one batch is bad doesnt mean the other 99 will be. Just my $.02

Mark I do agree, I don't think that one bag is representative of the whole company, but I just don't know how that one bag got past quality control. It's the only bag we've had like it, but these weren't broken limbs. They were very clearly severed, one was decapitated, and one was cut in half. If you want me to post pictures I can, I just know that it was enough for me to DEFINITELY never buy from them again.

We also produce our own rats and have been for a while, the only reason I bought from them was to give myself some extra time to expand my colonies. Hopefully I won't ever have to purchase frozen from anyone again, but if I do it won't be rodent pro.

I had that turn up with a few limbs here and there. I also had a few pinkie mice that were broken in half. I think they get broken from any impact while in a deep freeze; like the hot dog/ liquid nitrogen experiment in school.
Overall, The quality has been just fine with everything I have received. The one time I had some rodents thaw as a result of the shipper destroying the box, Rodent Pro's customer service was very quick to respond and took care of it.
If I have any problems I will post those if they cannot be resolved, but so far I have no complaints.

On a side note; I don't think this is the proper venue to plug other rodent suppliers.

Probably slipped by from a poor worker. Texas roadhouse screwed up my steak on mothers day and the manager argued with me but im will be going back... one time isnt enough reason for me but again my steak only cost $20 you spent $800! The whole se'ered in half thing has me scratching my head...

I'm just going to post pictures, I sincerely apologize to anyone that gets upset by them. I don't like looking at them either, and I certainly didn't like finding them in my bags.

I've had rats burst before when I wasn't careful about how fast I thawed them, but these weren't burst open; they were cut. Maybe I'm wrong and it is from being frozen and breaking, but that's not how it looked to me. I've never seen such a thing before and I haven't seen it since.

That first picture i have had happen before where the head was missing. It has happened from many people i have bought from but it was rare. Now that last one i have never seen before....
