I think this Edith Sample person is bogus, why would you create an account here soley to post in this thread. Has this person been lurking just waiting to see if someone would bring this business up?? More likely IMO is this is another use who has some beef with said seller but doesn't want to show his or her face while bashing said seller. I could certainly be wrong, but I smell a rat.
This thread was started over a year ago, and she has been a member for over two months. So, your theory of "lurking" is invalidated. Many people become members just so they can buy/sell/trade on these forums.
I've only been looking through these forums for the last month and I've yet to see people ask for "proof" on other negative feedbacks on other breeders. I would say that if you have issues with this, buy for yourself. But, I have personally spoken with Ross and they have snakes die all the time and many of their snakes DO have respiratory infections. I can't say but that they don't take good care of their animals. I've never had any issues with any of mine, and for a "professional breeder" to have so many issues, something must be wrong with the way they do things. This negative feedback was left to warn people. You are still left with your choices, but if you want proof you should be asking it from all people, not just this incidence.
I am involved on this negative, and I can assure you that it did arrive sickly and died as a result. Breeder ethics would guarantee the selling of a healthy animal, especially when told the animal is perfect in every way.
Spruce Nubble's website states:
"Everyone knows that real estate is all about "location, location, location" - Raising exceptional reptiles is all about "husbandry, husbandry, husbandry". Excellent husbandry is what makes a Spruce Nubble Farm reptile better than the ones sitting in your local pet shop." as well as: "You don't have to just take our word for it. We know our reptiles are healthier and more robust - and we back it up. Yes, you will pay slightly more for our reptiles - breeding and raising a premium reptile costs more - but you won't be back at the pet shop a month later with a dead or dying animal. We offer an unheard of full replacement guarantee for an entire year from the date of purchase!" right on their front page. Edith dealt with them for a long period of time before even getting any response from them regarding the issue. And, yes, they were not very kind and even admitted to never fulfilling the guarantee. Why even advertise it?!
If you want more evidence that this is not a top rate business, I can back up my claims as I do have personal experience with them; whereas, you dont. I can back up my claims that most, if not all, their stock is wild-caught or farm bred as well. Why should you pay the excess costs they post for second-rate animals? That's up to you to decide. But, my GTP is definitely farmed or WC...either way, an import and NOT US captive bred like they had led me to believe. Plus, the Irian Jaya carpet I bought from them was a Coastal Carpet, one I really didn't want. But, I fell in love with it anyway, but am unhappy by the fact they were so careless. I discussed both these issues with them, and was reimbursed nothing...unless the animal died. And, if the animal dies, they don't reimburse you anyway...as we see here.
This has been merely a warning to people to get them to think before they buy. Not a debate thread. So, what are your issues? Figure them out before attacking people who leave feedback on dealers.
