In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hello,

Wondering if anyone has ever dealt with them.

Website is www.sprucenubblefarm.com

I am looking to buy a GTP from them and looks like they have some awesome animals, and they have all fecal, shed, feeding, picture records to go with the snake.

Thanks.

Mike

The owner is Ross Lasley and I've never had a transaction with him. Several members of our herp society have met him and have seen his facility and I wouldn't hesitate to buy from him.

Negative

Buyer beware! Spruce Nubble Farm sent me two sick GTPs. One died. When I inquired about their "one year guarantee", they resorted to profanity. They never replaced the snake. I have never had any problem with any other GTP breeder. All my other snakes are healthy.

Edith, you are going to need to provide a lot more information than that. How about start from the beginning and tell us what happened and provide any emails that you have . Randy

I think this Edith Sample person is bogus, why would you create an account here soley to post in this thread. Has this person been lurking just waiting to see if someone would bring this business up?? More likely IMO is this is another use who has some beef with said seller but doesn't want to show his or her face while bashing said seller. I could certainly be wrong, but I smell a rat.

No, I know of her. She told me the same info on Arachnoboards weeks ago. Keep in mind she has never told the complete story. I have never purchased a snake from Spruce Nubble nor do I know anybody that has but I know if this accusation.

In reply, you may buy from whomever you wish, including them. I am just saying that I had a negative experience and will never purchase from them again. I have bought a total of 8 snakes from them, two did not match the photos on their website. Two GTPs arrived ill, one with a respiratory infection, and the other with a large tumor. I phoned them about it and they did nothing. One died, even after extensive vet visits. I phoned them repeatedly and emailed them and they did not respond for 5 weeks. Then they responded with hateful and profane emails.

They do not honor their one year guarantee. Perhaps they will with you. I also did not appreciate the way they communicated with me. You may enjoy that style of communication. I do not respect breeders that refuse to discuss things with me, but resort to profanity.

Ignore my post if you like.

Edith

Ms. Sample,
No one wants to ignore a post that might expose a Bad Dealer but without any proof of what you are saying no one has any reason to believe that you ever had any dealings with them of any type.
You could just be a vindictive girl friend posting to hurt them out of spite.

What kind of proof do you want? Copies of vet bills? Copies of the invoices of the eight snakes I purchased from Amy and Ross (They are married and I am definitely not an old girlfriend of either)? Do you want pictures of the dead snake? Do you want pictures of the tumor in the other snake?

May I ask for proof of any positive business dealings with these two people?

I will quote a portion of one of their emails to me:
"at the end of the day you needed not only the remedy but you needed me to kiss your ass in a way that I just could not.”-states Spuce Nubble Farm…

Does this sound like a professional that you want to purchase from?

I would suggest to them that if they are not willing to back up their one year guarantee, they should not offer it.

Edith, it's simple anyone can say whatever they want here. I could make a bad girl thread about you ! and if I did that I'd be asked for and expected to provide proof, just as we are asking you for proof. We don't have a clue who you are but you expect us to just take the word of a stranger ? We don't know that you ever had any dealings with these folks, we don't know anything that happened.. Think of this like you were taking them to court IE you would have to provide the court with Proof of 1, that you bought something from them and 2, you would have to provide proof of what happened in this deal or went wrong .

So yes emails all of them with headers attached, photos , and as I said above start at the beginning and explain what happened as dispassionately as you can. As a famous TV cop would say " Just the facts Ma'am"

We are not trying to give you a bad time here we just want you to tell us what happened and provide any proof you have . If nothing else it will provide a warning to others who think about doing business with them and maybe we can help get this taken care of to your satisfaction.. Randy

This thread was started over a year ago, and she has been a member for over two months. So, your theory of "lurking" is invalidated. Many people become members just so they can buy/sell/trade on these forums.

I've only been looking through these forums for the last month and I've yet to see people ask for "proof" on other negative feedbacks on other breeders. I would say that if you have issues with this, buy for yourself. But, I have personally spoken with Ross and they have snakes die all the time and many of their snakes DO have respiratory infections. I can't say but that they don't take good care of their animals. I've never had any issues with any of mine, and for a "professional breeder" to have so many issues, something must be wrong with the way they do things. This negative feedback was left to warn people. You are still left with your choices, but if you want proof you should be asking it from all people, not just this incidence.

I am involved on this negative, and I can assure you that it did arrive sickly and died as a result. Breeder ethics would guarantee the selling of a healthy animal, especially when told the animal is perfect in every way.

Spruce Nubble's website states:
"Everyone knows that real estate is all about "location, location, location" - Raising exceptional reptiles is all about "husbandry, husbandry, husbandry". Excellent husbandry is what makes a Spruce Nubble Farm reptile better than the ones sitting in your local pet shop." as well as: "You don't have to just take our word for it. We know our reptiles are healthier and more robust - and we back it up. Yes, you will pay slightly more for our reptiles - breeding and raising a premium reptile costs more - but you won't be back at the pet shop a month later with a dead or dying animal. We offer an unheard of full replacement guarantee for an entire year from the date of purchase!" right on their front page. Edith dealt with them for a long period of time before even getting any response from them regarding the issue. And, yes, they were not very kind and even admitted to never fulfilling the guarantee. Why even advertise it?!

If you want more evidence that this is not a top rate business, I can back up my claims as I do have personal experience with them; whereas, you dont. I can back up my claims that most, if not all, their stock is wild-caught or farm bred as well. Why should you pay the excess costs they post for second-rate animals? That's up to you to decide. But, my GTP is definitely farmed or WC...either way, an import and NOT US captive bred like they had led me to believe. Plus, the Irian Jaya carpet I bought from them was a Coastal Carpet, one I really didn't want. But, I fell in love with it anyway, but am unhappy by the fact they were so careless. I discussed both these issues with them, and was reimbursed nothing...unless the animal died. And, if the animal dies, they don't reimburse you anyway...as we see here.

This has been merely a warning to people to get them to think before they buy. Not a debate thread. So, what are your issues? Figure them out before attacking people who leave feedback on dealers.

Uh, Mr. Travis??
Your full name is required when you post to the BOI, either signed at the end of your post or included in the info to the right of your post.
Failure to include your full name can result in your post being deleted.

My point was that this person recently created an account, then made no posts at all for a couple months. Then suddenly brings up a year old post? Why is that? Just sounds funny to me. Why not do this when she created the account? Also, everyone I see defending her has the same very new account and extremely low post count. I am certainly not passing judgement, but there has been no other info offered. I stand by my statement that without some real proof I call shenanigans on this negative post and the poster.

I am not defending her account. She goes by the same User name on a few other forums.

She always gives the same information, "don't buy from Spruce Nubble Farms, they sent me two sick snakes and didn't honor their 1 year guarantee."

She has never told the complete story as far as I know. With no proof this is just an accusation.

If you think people are starting bogus accounts to take down Spruce Nubble,

I have done zero business with Spruce Nubble. All I can confirm is this accusation.

If you want I can post a PM she sent me weeks ago on Arachnoboards but it contains the exact same info she has already posted.

The following is NOT TRUE but is being posted to demonstrate why proof of accusations is generally require.
I purchased 2 CB pond snails from Dr. J/Travis and paid for them with my credit card via an email exchange. Dr J not only sold me WC pond snails but they had mouth rot and scale rot. Then he over charged my Credit Card by $10,000 to cover shipping costs he said. When I complained he told me "tough nuggys, get over it".
Again the above is just an example of how someone can say anything and without proof it may or may not be true.
The BOI is a place for fact not unproven inuendo.

I agree for this board to continue to be taken seriously proof needs to be shown.

In my personal opinion this thread should be locked. The only reason I backed up her accusation is that it is a serious one and I would like her to post proof or Spruce to comment on her as a customer.

Like I said I have done NO BUSINESS WITH SPRUCE NUBBLE but was not ruling out future business and have their site saved on my favorites. That is where my interest comes from.

I have tried to attach the invoice from one of the sick animals I received in July 2007. She died in February, 2008
