    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police would be very interested in that. In Canada, as well as doing police work, they also serve in an FBI and Secret Service type capacity. I am sure that they would know who to contact in the US. daddy's money wont be able to keep little stevie out of the slammer if he gets dinged with that one.
 
Well, it took nearly four months, but I finaly got my money back. I think talking to his dad was more effective then the FBI.
If anyone else needs to track this guy down, let me know.

hi there steve clark has just emailed me today i have a ad on kingsnake.com for a wanted 5 1/2 foot king cobra and he emailed me with this email address [email protected] he has emailed me before not by this email and i saw this post on here so i thought i would help out so if this help good luck to you all.

I have contacted Steves Mother on my $700 dollars(or turtles), and also informed her of the BOI, because she says "her son is no rip-off artist" So I wanted her to come here and type her sons name in on the BOI search engine, to see how many complaints he has against him, I think she may be suprised.

I have also threaten Steve with the IFCC, FBI, and others, well before this, but never fell through with my plan because Steve has continuisly said from month to month, that he has some plan to pay me.

I saw somebody else- "John" get there money back, so I will do the same. Steve's parents do not want there son in trouble.

His mother was quite adiment (sp?) on me not going to the authorities, and says this transaction will definitely be settled without having to go that direction. So.. we'll see.

Steve was collecting NA Wood turtles and selling them on kingsnake as "legal" animals from Ohio....yea right. They are illegal to have in PA. He also says he has bog turtles and I reported him to the authorities in PA.

He also ripped me off last year by selling me a Western Pond Turtle that ended up being a European Pond turtle....He played stupid...the turtle died the same day. He asked me to ship back the dead turtle....after weeks he did refund the money. But I ended up paying shipping expenses.

Then....get this....I go out and find him posting on taxidermy sights...apparently when customers ship back the dead animals, he preserves them. This guy is a complete fraud and I want him to get caught as everyone does.

I am owed shipping expenses for sending back a dead turtle that I purchased from him.

i have delt with steve before...im a good friend of his..its takes him a lil while longer than most people to ship out but when he does he sends A+ animals out to u just wait and im sure u will get ur snakes turts ect....

This guy told me he had the animals and that they had eaten 4-5 times. I was told that he would ship them the day after he received my payment.
He never had the animals he told me about. I had to wait four months to get my money back. He kept giving me the run around untill I called Mail fraud, FBI, and his parents.
He might be a friend of yours, but he is a con artist.

Interesting how skinindustries just registered today. Hmm sounds a little suspect to me as I've just been emailing Steve back and forth today and demanding a refund and he's been threatening me with lawsuits.

I would seriously question the legitimacy of skinindustries.

I would ask to get a name and phone number and speak to him personally.

one more thing...

Please do not wait to file with the FBI and/or phone his local police department. Someone said that his mother was adamant that the authorities not be involved. They also said that she would phone him on the weekend. Why not call him now? She doesn't seem as though she is in too much of a rush to get this matter resolved. I know that if a friend or relative of mine was accused of breaking federal laws, I would be on them, to fix the matter, immediately!

Dont fall for her bluff! Be proactive! File with the FBI now!

Wood Turtles aren't illegal to have in PA or to collect from PA. If you have a fishing license, you can collect 2 individuals. You can also have an unlimited number of captive bred individuals if you have the proper paperwork.

Bog Turtles are highly illegal to have in PA unless you obtain a permit from the PA Fish and Boat Commission first.

Sorry to hear about the Euro Pond, they're an awesome species.:D

Jeff, I appreciate the post above and the info. Thanks for clarifying some of my inconsistencies.

My point is that if Steve Clark is ripping off all of these people, there's no reason to believe he is doing anything legally in the sale of reptiles on the internet. Based on his record on this forum, it would be of no suprise to find out that he is illegally collecting animals and selling them. I know of several posts that he made last year advertising NA woods. His pictures had at least 6 "long-term" captives. If you read his ads carefully, he always goes to great lengths to say how "legal" they are and that they're long-term captives from Ohio. He also throws around Don Hamper's name like he's a buddy of his. The wording of his ads and the emphasis that he places on the legality of the wood turtles is very, very suspicious to say the least.

The picture below is the turtle that Steve was advertising on kingsnake as a Western Pond turtle. For those of you who are not familiar with this species, they are probably the 2nd hardest to find North American turtle among reptile hobbyists next to the bog turtle. Steve has posted numerous messages on the kingsnake turtle forum about Clemmys, which includes NA Wood turtle, bogs, spotteds, and Western Ponds. I know for certain that he knew the turtle he was selling was not a Western Pond turtle because as you'll see in the email exchange below, he later admitted that it was a Euro. Not to belittle the European Pond Turtle, but it's quite inexpensive and also fairly common among reptile hobbyists.

I'll let everyone be the judge on this.

Just send it back whenever...There should be someone here to recieve it all week. Ummm...as far as a refund or replacement I am calling around, and seeing if I can't find you a male really fast, that is a true Western, and not a euro so you can have something to use for breeding.

What I think you can get him on are the following:

Selling Alabama Redbellies-an ESA species.
Cannot be transported across state lines at all without proper id and no one I know of in the turtle industry even has one.
So how does he get all the babies he had for sale, adamantly saying they are c.b.b by him or a buddy and that he can ship them anywhere. I confronted him about this and asked for photos of them next to a dated current newspaper, belly shots, head shots, etc....and he never did. Next thing you know after telling him they are ESA of which I had to explain to him what it even was , he started to sell them as hybrids. Funny.

Second: He always used to put in his posts: Can ship anywhere, including alaska and hawaii.
Well we all know you cant ship to HAWAII.

Thirdly: He WAS OPENLY selling NA woods like they were going out of style , claiming he had lots ot choose from, etc, all ltc, etc....doubtful, look at his track record.

Fourthly: He has accepted money orders from post office and has scammed the people whom sent it to him. Thtas a federal offense as well.

Fifth: He claims to have his venomoids done by a veterinarian experienced with it. They dont teach that in vet school, I high ly doubt it. If they do teach it, its in some third world country.

There are alot more things that he has done, and is known to have done.

All they need to do is raid his house where the animals are kept and see pics on his pc, papers, etc.
Also see the animals how they are kept. I can bet you his venomous are in tupperwares or in non-safe containers whichPa should have a law against????

Hes the scum of the industry giving good dealers bad raps and loss business in general because he ripped off many more that dont even know about this site.

I know four people whom bought turtles from me that got ripped by him.

By the way, that turtle in the pic, is definetly a euro pond, not a marmorata.

hey eveyone i hope the email address i gave you helped i think he cought on to the fact that i let you know that email address because he stoped answering my emails and on the post before mina baout keeping venomous in ruber mades i hate to say it but 90% of the guys that keep venomous keep them in rubber mades and i keep venomous so i know what it is like i dont like what people do with the venomous snakes like steve clark and his venomoid crap no snake should be like that it is justa get rich sceam that the vets get in there head and do it but i hope you all get some type of compensation weather it is the reptiles its self or money

The turtle in the picture is definately a European Pond without a doubt. Also I only know of 1 guy that breeds/sells Western Pond Turtles, and they're usually $300-400.
