In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. Tarheel Reptile/Mark Carmany-Beware!

Yo heel,

We're still waiting on those pics you said you had. I'd sure like to see them and I bet I'm not alone in that.

Do you have them or not? Are you going to post them or not?

Sold anything lately?

Wes, don't hold your breath dude. Mark has shown his level of integrity here and I don't think we'll see any pics posted on his part. If the pics he claims to have that prove the snake did not have mites prior to shipping are anything like the pics he sent me, then theres no way in hell he'd be able to back up his claims because his camera sucks.....he could just post a crappy pic that doesn't show any mites and say "Heres my proof!"......lol.

I wouldn't bother holding your breath, Wes. Mark has already demonstrated that he's a person of minimal integrity. As a good friend of mine would allude to, Mark's the kind of person who would jump out of his car and try to beat up the tree that jumped in front of him, causing him to wreck.

A real class(less) act.

Just for everyone who is curious about the pics Mark sent me prior to sending me the snake, here is one of them (note the snake sitting in its water dish-snakes with mites don't do that do they??)

Perhaps I should assume some responsibility for not using better judgement beofre purchasing this snake. I gave Mark the benefit of the doubt and it came back to bite me in the a$$.

you mean that snake sitting in it's EMPTY water dish? maybe more than UPS and FEDEX need to know about him. he's breaking their shipping policies, and it looks like he's not providing necessary care for his animals as well. unless that snake has multiple water dishes, it looks pretty empty to me. probably about as empty as his email box will be when it comes to people wanting to buy from him.

and to think that jacka$$ posted that nobody would see this. this thread has had over 1780 views in about 24 hours. i hope everyone sees this thread. Mark Carmany is a threat to this hobby, a threat to the business of buying/selling snakes, and a threat to anyone that buys from him and isnt happy with his product. i wish this could make the news. i guess 1780 views in 24 hours is a good start.

David, did he ever tell you how long the snake was in his collection before selling it? It's possible that even IF he was treated at Mark's there could have been a few mites under his scales, hence the soaking, and they matured by the time the deal was made and he was shipped. What I am trying to get at is: the snake may not have been with him long enough for a full treatment which can take about two months if you treat then repeat in 10-14 days to make sure ALL mites are dead. Then you wait 2 weeks to a month to be sure they don't come back.

I can't understand his overreaction. You merely pointed a couple of things out to him so he could remedy the situation at his own facility and he blew his lid! You weren't asking for anything.... sheesh.

After reading this and seeing how Mark conducted himself in such a non professional way I took it upon myself to contact the powers that be at UPS. I wouldn't be suprised if he has packages inspected from now on. ;)

The pictures will not prove anything. Ldydragon is right mite's hide under scales so just because you don't see them in the picture does not mean they are not there or maybe they were flicked off before the picture was taken. He said mite's are no big deal I wonder if his high dollar customer's get treated the same way.

Does he have a website?

Tim

Imagine this

you bought this for $4000 and she came loaded w mites Mr Tarheel youd be upset too.

Michelle, he did not say exactly how long he had the snake but he did tell me it was a very Long Term Captive and that he had it for quite a while. Still no excuse to send a snake w/ mites IMO.

even if it was a mistake which i really doubt....its the way he acted about the whole thing...and still he wont post pics that he says he has.

i wonder y he isnt replying anymore....guess hes busy at the unemployment office.

One mite is ok?????

I have never heard of a snake having only one mite. I think we all know that they come in waves, both mites and the eggs. Mites are not ok by any stretch of the imagination. Sending a snake with mites is bad business, it says alot about you and your animals. That pic with the snake in the dish was proof positive, mites, dish with little to no water, what else....?

As of 7:55est there have been 740 individuals to visit this website. 740 potential customers for tarhell reptiles in just 1 day.
With all this interest, I think this thread will be near the top for quite a while. Too bad for you Mark, your response was pure stupidity.

i have never recieved a snake with mites, so it hard to say how i'd respond. i would probably be more upset than david was. maybe i would have just written the guy like david did. but i would be furious at the response david got. and to post what he did on here? man, i wouldn't buy anything from him and i am sure many others won't either.

this is kinda funny...i looked up this guys other post on here and here are a couple quotes he made....lol.
this guy is a real peice of work...lmao.

It's becoming really clear that you are one of these people who will never admit they're wrong. You just want to blame everything on Chris and Blue Ribbon. You are the one that started this whole thing by sticking your big nose where it didn't belong.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying that selling reptiles under false pretensesor ripping people off is alright. There are alot of guilty con artists around that need to be put in prison. Sellers should fairly and accurately represent the animals they're selling. The bad apples ruin it for everybody
