In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

THIS IS A QUESTION THAT HAS NEVER BEEN ASKED

It seems the OP is asking more about the snake getting sick after already gravid....not breeding an already sick snake (since thats just stupid)

As Diem stated....I don't think antibiotics would fare well with eggs....especially Baytril

I have never spoken to anyone who had to administer antibiotics to a gravid snake, and was able to save the eggs. Every situation I know of, the eggs fail to thrive once laid, or have had to be removed by a vet.

Now....that isn't saying it isn't possible to get good eggs after antibiotics (in fact it most likely HAS happened)....but I would say it would be difficult to get a thriving clutch from a sick snake in the first place. So the health of that snake should be the one and only concern in a situation like that, and let the eggs fall where they may.

and yes....many many snakes have died from antibiotics....weather they couldn't handle the drug or it wasn't given properly....either way, I'm sorry for your loss!

Hmm ok after going back and re-reading the questions....I'm sad to say the OP really was asking about breeding an already sick snake....I will attempt to bury the idea that you actually want to do that.

Forget it...don't ask it, don't do it, and don't expect anyone to happily give you any advice about it. Do NOT breed an already sick snake.

If your snake gets sick while gravid, thats one thing (still bad of course)

but if your snake is already sick.....don't let it NEAR ANY OTHER SNAKE until it is all better....simple...period...no excuses....

OK, here we go. "Hussler", please, if you are going to pose these important questions, learn better use of the English language. I know that this isn't the point of this forum, but honestly, basic literacy isn't a huge thing to ask. There is a spellcheck feature on this site, so it's just laziness.

As your name "Hussler" denotes, I'm betting that you very much are in this for the money. Either that, or you have a very sad sense of humor.

On to the thought of giving a gravid snake with an RI antibiotics. I would do it in a second if the vet thought that it would save the snake without any consequences of her carrying the eggs, or live young in my case. As I don't think it would adversely affect her health, I'm going to give the snake the meds with no concern with the babies. I am in the hobby of keeping healthy snakes, breeding them is just a perk.

And yet another example of why people choose not to help others on here (refering to the respondents) ...

Do some of you guys get off on bringing other people down rather than trying to educate? And you try to make others look like the bad guy?

Focal people are just being honest....when you come to a reptile forum and ask if you can breed sick snakes...people are going to freak out...

if your not ready for truthful honest answers from people when you ask their opinion....then don't ask the question.

Now as far as comments about the OP personally....well...I wouldn't freak out myself over anyone's lack of spelling or grammar...I just stop reading what they post to avoid the headache lol....but some people have different standards, thats their fight not mine.

but JC is correct....when you have a name like Hussler, but swear it isn't about money...and ask about breeding sick snakes....MOST people are going to get angry and want to defend the hobby from BAD BAD practices like that

Hustler is the correct way to spell that word yes

but the screen name is Hussler...not sure where your trying to correct me in this

There is NOTHING educational about giving advice on breeding a sick snake!

Yes, yes there is. But a one-way, intolerant attitude would make one think that way. Express why it's wrong. Do I seriously need to list step-by-step instructions on how to be mature? You honestly think flaming him will get your point across or they trying to pick at him so he flips, throws a fit and gets banned? TRANSPARENCY!! I've been internet browsing for far to long to not see the intentions in the above posts.

Most people are keyboard warriors I guess. :shrug01:

Education>Defamation

LOL, I guess I should be grateful that I deleted my second comment earlier. You guys might have had a heart attack.

Ummmm...I have flamed no one lol

but I guess you are correct

I have a one way, intolerant mind for people who wish to abuse their animals by breeding them while they are sick...

wow...I'm the worst kind of person =)

OMG, his last name is Hussey. Is a nickname really that hard to comprehend? You guys are assuming his name is a form of "hustler"

Maybe not, but your hands are red with assumptions. Where did he say he planned to breed them? I'm curious as to the answer to his questions from experienced people, not a bunch of off-topic, flaming elitests.

I will admit to not noticing that was his last name...so thank you for pointing that out.

-Can you put a pregnant snake on either injectable or oral antibiotics?

I have no issue with this question at all...and in my first post, I answered it with the only knowledge i have of it

Now...

his second question is where I have issues....

-Can you breed a snake that is on injectable or oral antibiotics? "I know im gonna catch hell from this question".

:

This question is no way needs to be answered with anything other then a strong...loud...resounding NO from the entire community!!

Are really curious for the answer to this question from experienced people?

Does the answer have to come from people who actual have experience breeding sick animals are will someone with a little common sense do?

Breeding a sick snake, Nick? Really? You think that's a good/smart question to ask?

Since when did common sense get tossed out?

Sure, lets ALL answer "YES! ITS A GREAT IDEA! WE ALL DO! IT! :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD" And see where that puts us.
