In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

The Kid in the Picture on page 21, post 103.

is a good guy, I used to buy from him when I managed Crutchfields in the mid-nineties.
I just bought an Ovophis from him today

So Randal...........Who is the kid in the picture on page 21, post 103 of this thread?

The photograph of the reptile dealers was taken in the early 1980's.

The location was outside of one of Strictly Reptiles first warehouses in Miami/Fort Lauderdale.

Bruce,

It must be Rian! hahahhahahahahaha!
But, are you ever going to name the other members of that motley crew?

Randal,

I am good friends with Joe Fauci from the picture, and I drive by his place, Southeast Reptile Exchange, every day when I go to work in order to support my reptile habit at the hospital where I am the radiology supervisor.

Joe says hi to you and wants to know if you are still working as curator of reptiles in a zoo? Of course, you were Tom Crutchfield's manager before, also. I am working hard to get Joe Fauci to join the BOI, (how cool that would be to hear his stories!) but I have to teach him computers first.

Joe got a copy of the picture from Strictly Reptiles, and he is going to check with Ray Van Nostrand about the identities of the remaining people the next time he sees Ray when he goes down to buy more reptiles in Miami.

You see, fan club intelligence checks its facts a lot better than the CIA before going to war.

Contact Info for Joe Fauci @ Southeast Reptile Exchange

Joe Fauci from the picture is a legend who is still a very active reptile dealer, from all the way back to the early 1970's. I would like to post his information so we can keep him going as long as possible and so both new guys and old-timers can contact him. He is an encyclopedia of reptile business history. He mainly wholesales to the trade, but can and does get very rare stuff, and venomous also, for advanced collectors/breeders. He also buys your stuff, if he can wholesale it. Joe sold the original albino ball pythons to Bob Clark, for instance! Please do not try e-mailing him because he so far as I know has never personally typed on a keyboard. He is a phone guy, probably to the end.

Joe Fauci @ Southeast Reptile Exchange, Tampa, FL 813-875-3126.

Say Bruce sent you.

Hey Bruce. Now that the authorities have aired Don Hamper's dirty laundry, are you going to start a secret fan club for him? If so, It might be easier to combine the two.

Get your last shots in Troll-Boy, because I know you don't have ten dollars to pay for posting after this weekend! :spinny:

Hey, If I would have had the money if Billy Goat Gruff hadn't stiffed me on that bridge toll deal!
:wavey:

Can anyone give me the scoop on these new ads that have popped up all over KS? The ads are showing to be posted by missdaisy but in the text of the ad says the following (note bolded text):

This is an excellent example of this new and exciting morph. She weighs over 150 grams and is a superb feeder. She may be purchased for $875.00 shipping included.
Call Tom @ 239-645-9661 or e-mail [email protected]
We accept all major credit cards and paypal @ [email protected]
Also, note that the payment address differs from the contact address....that's suspicioius....

There are 37 ads at this time under that name: http://market.kingsnake.com/userview.php?uid=84858&v=a

I assure you that all of it is legit. I have spoken to Tom recently and he is doing business again and is selling lots of animals. I don't know why the contact address and paypal adress is different, but I know of several people who have purchased animals recently and have had nothing but good things to say about their dealing with Tom and the quality of the animals that they recieved.

I am sure he is just using that name or somebody is posting for him. If it said in the classified pages "Tom Crutchfield" he would get far fewer page hits. Also note all the great claims of the genetics and names of all the normal ball pythons posted as ridiculous prices. A real sign of the seller's integrity or lack of.

Yeah, I noticed quite a lot of hype and not much product.

With the diff paypal address I wasn't sure what was up. I was thinking it might be someone saying call Tom to see if whatever animal was still for sale, the real Tom gets the call and says it is, the person paypals to the address listed (a third party) and gets ripped. Stranger scams have happened, people have used other people's names to sell and scam. That's mostly the angle I was checking out.

Evan I don't know you but I have known Tom for over 30 years and apparently you don't. I would watch who you accuse of a scam. He did things that he got into trouble for and has paid his price, but that doesn't give you the right to speak badly of him, his snakes and especially to question his integrity. If you or anyone else has any reservations about buying a snake from him, THEN DON'T!
But don't get on here and start making accusations that you have absolutly no grounds for.

David

Actually David, if you learned to read you would realize that in my post, as you posted it again, I did not once accuse Tom of a scam or anything else. It is funny that you are so defensive of him. As far as not speaking of Tom's integrity, that is a joke! Say what you want David, but Tom committed many crimes, and he is the one who chose to flee the United States to a country that he thought would not allow extradition back to the United States to avoid prosecution for the crimes he was charged with. How does that add up to integrity David?

And David, as per the United States Constitution and Bill Of Rights, I do have the right to speak badly of Tom if I so choose.

He burned me twice...

hence I DO have the right to talk about it! I sent him 1.1 Queensland Carpet Pythons Breeders in 1986 in trade for a RODENT feeding baby King Cobra. The snake wouldn't eat lizards or snakes let alone rodents. It didn't even live a week. I do now have rodent feeding Kings and they didn't come from Tom!

David, I do not know what your deal is, but Evan never accused Tom of anything, and he has every right to come here and comment on Tom's integrity or lack of it. Just because you were enamored with Tom as a 10 year old, does not make him a good person for others to deal with. Time to wake up and smell, smell the coffee, and find a new hero.

I guess it is time for some coffee for me as well. My writing skills need some work...

I have no problem with people who know Tom or have done business with him making coments about him. It just makes me mad when I see people posting things about people, Tom or otherwise, that they have never met or had any dealings with. Making assumptions about anyone by what you hear, no matter what the source, is second hand and always subjet to interpretation by the individual or source that it came from. In Tim Cole's case I fully support his right to be aggrevated at having had a bad dealings with Tom. I like Tim and have heard nothing but good things about his snakes and his dealings with other people. I even worked his show last month.
As for holding Tom in "hero" status, that is long past and I was over that by the time I was about 14. Now I just consider him an old friend.

David
