In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I am not sure of the relevance to this thread. However I vaguely remember about ten months ago being in the chat room here on Fauna. Chris was present as were a few others. Chris was talking about a fire in his ball python room. Caused by some faulty heat tape I believe. He was devastated, said to have lost tens of thousands of dollars worth of animals. Maybe even hundreds of thousands. Anyone else present when this chat took place or maybe heard of this incident? At that time I remember him saying that he and his "partners" or "investors" could be ruined. He was also trying pretty hard at the time to set himself up to just do leopard geckos. Said that the fire might just be the thing that forced him to make that move.

I have discussed this with at least one other member who remembers similar accounts. I am also waiting to hear from a few others who may have been present. I thought that this info should be out there as well. I'm not looking to spin some wild conspiracy theory out of this, just wanted to make the info available.
Jeremy, I was there that night remember him saying something along those lines

Now Nicholai, what makes you think Chris was in business to loose money? Their should be no doubt that whatever he sold those snakes as, were not what the customer had in mind to receive.

I can confirm the above statement by Jeremy, as I do remember Chris telling me, either in chat or via the telephone, the same thing.

I understand your concerns, but in the end I don't think that this incident will damage the Het market as much as it may appear to now.

Do I believe that additional measures will need to be taken to assure the prospective buyer that what they are buying is indeed what they are getting? Yes.

One basic thing is to have proof that you actually have homozygous animals. Which, in TSE's case I believe is still an unanswered question.

UH, that was kinda the point i was making. Unless it was part of a much bigger deal. If he sold two ghosts or pastels or something of that nature and promised the buyer 2 baby balls in with them, then it would be a drop in the nucket.

I believe that Chris TSE was wrong in the way his businss has and is handling his customers and believe his customers should receive what they are owed, whether it be monies or animals!!! I hope chris makes this right and rebuilds his reputation in the Reptile hobby again!!!

If someone is able to match one or both of those pictures with their "het", then a case for criminal fraud just got a bit easier in the short term. Otherwise a whole lot can be dismissed in a bankruptcy proceeding.

If Chris has had ulterior motives of late, and possibly going back a couple of years, with the gig up as it is, he is using the current time to liquidate or relocate assets, especially his reptiles. He has plenty of contacts to sell what he wants to now, and likely to "hole some up" for continuing income. The thought of a portion of you getting what you are owed, while the rest get nothing, is not likely. Either he is honest and wants to make good to all, or he makes good to none, and continues as best he can via an acquaintance, or under a new internet name, or both.

aquiring a new name,

and setting yourself up through a friend is easy in an unregulated industry . Paypal would welcome them!

Sorry, I'm not the back off type.
I am not preventing you from asking questions, nor others from answering. If you have been reading this thread, you will see that I myself am asking questions and making statements. You will note that my statements are made in a professional manner and I expect that of you as well.

The surest way to get this thread dismissed by those in the reptile world as well as the potential customers out there that are making choices based on what they read here is to allow this to become a free for all. Results will be way more effective and far reaching if we say how we feel in an honest yet professional way.
Good for you! sincerely, no one should be the back off type in a thread like this and it was in fact quite rude to ask myself to do so. Another thing I don't feel as though when the gloves come off I have to act "professional" I feel as though I'm no better than anyone else here or anywhere for that matter. I have honestly expressed myself without breaking any hardened rules, apparently only the ones that can be thrown around the will of moderators opinions. I did not swear or use any vulgarity as previously claimed. I took alot of shots at chris very true, and I'm full well aware that my posts don't show the highest level of maturity. However, I am extremely upset at the fact that like I said in my previous posts, this guy bashes on the entire fauna community. I cleanly, without any vulgarity what so ever, throw the cheap shots back at this Chris character who possibly tried to scam me and is currently holding fine, upstanding, hardworking, herp enthusiast's cash. I've seen time and time again that moderators want people to be able to speak their opinions in a clean mannor which is exactly as I did and then they issue warning points all at once to set an example. Which is fine I do not contest any of fauna's rules. Never have and never will. Well I haven't heard of any issued warning points for Chris lattes comments about us all being stupid frenzied sharks preying on his inability to simply do the right thing. Then Rich states that he can't just simply remove the guys good guy certificate after multiple cases, factually proven on this very thread. I know that this is determined by us the members and has been currently resolved. Shouldn't there be a "quick quo pro" so to speak that pertains to the level of severity?? How do we know who else to watch for now. The moderators of fauna should be the first ones to be able to simply and collectively as moderators vote to remove good guy certificates at this heightened level of dishonesty and deceit. See the larger picture folks, that has not been mentioned in the thread at all by anyone. First off we need to ask ourselves who is Chris really?? I can't find any of these "friends" that he has claimed to be here at all. As a matter of fact I haven't found one. I've found people who have sold to him and bought a couple geckos and snakes, and thats all. "Please guys" ease peoples minds that this guy is in fact not Michael Myers in disguise. Sounds silly but it's true. Secondly this guy has all of our personal information. where we live, credit card numbers, e-mails, etc. etc. I again apologise to whom I may have offended.

What was the time frame when that conversation about the loss of animals/eggs took place? Could it be possible that it was around the same time when the dealy in shipping animals started? That could explain the sudden shortage of animals.

In lieu of your recent claim through paypal your order has been removed from our shipment queue and you may now wait to deal with our owner upon his return; however long that may be. No claim through paypal will find a refund at it’s conclusion since no funds are held in said account. We have tried to deal with your situation accordingly and have provided responses when applicable. It is apparent you wish to prolong this longer than it required so it is out of our hands now. Take care.

I thought that is what Chris instructed everyone to do?

Thank you for your patience, we certainly not wish these delays on anyone

We are not involving ourselves in the mudslinging forums currently as we have better things to do.

It was sometime in July, I believe. I would say mid July.

Nic, that "Dead to the World" title has been there for quite some time now. Not a good sign though, is it.

oh ok, must have missed it before but found it quite funny when i saw it.

Although I can't remember exactly, wasn't that approximately the same timeframe of the first complaint we know off about not having received a shipment?

Regards,

Possibly, but that still doesn't explain all the orders/money that was gladly accepted after that time.

Of course not, and I'm not trying to explain that. What I'm trying to understand is if that accident had something to do with the shortage in the supply of ball pythons. Whatever the decision he made after on how to handle that shortage is a completely different story.

True enough. If the fire indeed really happend of course. I can vaguely remember some pictures being posted by Chris of the rack that was burned. Does anyone else remember this?
