It seems reasonable for anyone that has 100,000 worth of assets in a building to have insurance. You can insure anything building for as much as you want as long as you pay the premium. It would be an enormous risk for anyone whose main source of income depends on breeding reptiles to have the whole collection even inside their house without any kind of insurance. The problem is that whenever you insure there has to be a declared value on the assets (you insure your house based on the appraisal). I'm not sure how that would work with any expensive reptiles you keep inside though. On second thought animals can be insured against "accidents" and theft (and I'm thinking about expensive studs here).
