In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Top Shelf Exotics (Inquiry)

Lucille,

It seems reasonable for anyone that has 100,000 worth of assets in a building to have insurance. You can insure anything building for as much as you want as long as you pay the premium. It would be an enormous risk for anyone whose main source of income depends on breeding reptiles to have the whole collection even inside their house without any kind of insurance. The problem is that whenever you insure there has to be a declared value on the assets (you insure your house based on the appraisal). I'm not sure how that would work with any expensive reptiles you keep inside though. On second thought animals can be insured against "accidents" and theft (and I'm thinking about expensive studs here).

Quick Update

My friends vet appointment got moved to Monday. Hopefully she comes back parasite free.

But I do have one question. Does it sound right that she bought this snake in November of 05', well past normal hatching time for the 05' season, and received it April 28th and it to only weigh 200 grams?

Sure seems to me that it should have been a bit bigger than that seeing as the snake should be AT LEAST 6-8 months old. I know all of my snakes that are that age are significantly heavier than 200 grams. Odd.

Sammy, I have a couple of ball babies that were late hatches last season, and were a bit slow getting going eating, and they are just over 200 grams now.

Too bad her vet appointment got moved, I was really interested in hearing how it came out. At least these don't have belly rot.

Sammy,

In my personal experience there’s a big difference between 6 and 8 months. At 6 months they can be 200 g but they can then take off easily and even double their weight in a couple of months. Of course this sometimes varies with individual animals. Some are avid eaters, some are not.

Regards.

I was being a bit tongue in cheek there with my last post. I have rarely ran across 6 to 8 month old balls that were not at least 300. I have 3 from august 05 from last year that are all over 600. Granted they never miss a meal.

Absolutely! In 9 months they can be above the 600 g mark, particularly if you feed them ad libitum.

Not sure if my post was missed earlier in the thread, but my friend who has been waiting since November did get her "het" pied last Friday. She is at the vet today with the snake. We will see soon if that snake was also parasite ridden. I will keep you all updated.

Well we know that they shipped atleast one animal last week. Maybe it took pat and glenn 8 hours to make the box, 8 hours to cut the styrofaom, 8 hours to walk to the store for the tape, 8 hours to do thier preshipment notification to her, and 8 hours to box him up and hand him to the fed-ex guy. That may account for thier back log for last week, Besides Fed-ed might have said that the box they handed him was the last one they could possibly fit on the truck and they would have to wait until the following week to ship any more. :) :) :)

NICHOLAI, I think

your to much! But we do need some laughter during some of the dismal days in this industry. Very refreshing.

Michael,

It seems that the help with shipping is a non-issue. We asked Chris to post the last 10 FedEx tracking numbers he had shipped and "nada". Notice that we didn't even asked for the number he said FedEx will refuse to pick up (20 per day), we just asked for the last 10 (which could've meant even a week worth of packages). Not a one. It thus seems Pat and Glen ;) have no animals to ship so they need very little help.

Regards,
I understand. I am curious if anyone would even go knock on his door, this is not a point where one person was ripped off, but many. Someone can go down and find out for sure what is going on, does he have the animals? Has he shipped any animals that we are not being made aware of?

I have received PMs from some that have PM/e-mailed Chris offering help, so I know there are willing people.

I purchased a pair of said hets, 100% high contrast albino. I sent payment April of 05 and received them May of 05. I received the paperwork of said hets about a week later. I was told the copier was out of ink due to a delayed shipment from Staples. The snakes are healthy, eat well but are they really hets? Guess only time will give the answer to that question.

I went back through the emails (oh yeah, I saved them) to see if I could find anything that might add to this massive thread. The first line of this reply I received I thought might be of some interest here.

Yes, We worked with numerous visual males, vidual females, and het females last season to produce these. Unrelated pairs are still available.

Either of you can sign for the package, as long as an individual involved with the transaction is the signee there is no problem.

I'll have the guys forward a photo if they have the time, they’ve been quite busy over the past few days. I've made it known in my absence shipping is their main priority.

As for the last line, I had asked to see photos of the breeders which I never received. I guess the "guys" were just too busy for the customer.

Won't it get too crowded in the cell with Chris/Pat/Glenn/the -ex/Sybil? Oh well. Would anyone like to predict who arrests Chris first?

Michael, I dont think it would be advisable for anyone to attempt to go down to Chris's place (home or business), unless you are prepared for some personal problems. The only help Chris is going to need is an attorney or should I say attorney"s
The idea of trying to help Chris , is somewhat a ludicrous in his current state of affairs. I am sure his employees (ficticious or not) can be of more service than people offering help!

One would think that with the display of arrogance we had witnessed in the past, the first thing a person like Chris would do is post pictures of all their visible morphs on their website, forums, etc. After all that's the best advertisement possible. But hey! who needs more advertisement if they can't keep up with shipping!

Dan, whats really amazing is that

Chris actually thought he would be able to get away with his posts. I cannot understand if he was looking for some type of smpathy in the form of some serious illness that he was diagosed with, or he thought everyone here would bow to his pressure of doing business . As it turned out, he got more than he bargained for. Thats what usually happens to desperate, arrogant people who in the end only fool themselves.

I am terribly sorry for the loss that people incurred financially as well as their purchases if the snakes turn out NOT to be what they should have been. But at least , you can rest easy in knowing that his life will be changed for the worse for his remaining years. Dont think for a minute that he will be resting easy, because each day he awakens, his problems will be compounded with not so pleasant experiences.

As often as Chris would go on the offensive on other BOI threads hollering and complaining about the person being attacked coming forward and saying something, you would think Chris (or pat/glen if they exist) would come here to at least say something in his and his business's defense. Especially with the heinous allegations that are currently on the table, people getting scammed out of there money intentionally.

He was well enough to come here and post a few times before, then why can't he come here and give a better excuse and some tracking numbers?

Chris, if you just didnt pull the BIGGEST scam we've seen in quite some time, a suggestion would be BRING SOME DOCUMENTATION.. Some numbers, SOMETHING!

I would hate to think that Chris has never been sick this whole time, that he's taken all this money as a pre-meditated scam to just rip a ton of people off to aquire a lot of cash, and that he plans on disappearing or something similiar.

What could they possibly have done with the tens of thousands of dollars they have aquired without shipping a single animal?

Also, if we're to believe that Chris is indeed sick, how's about a scanned copy of some release documents from the hospital stating he had a heart attack? Or some other form of documentation, like scanned prescription slips, Dr. recommendations, etc.. Blank out any personal info except name's and TADA that will blow away any doubt of the sickness.

So the money is all gone, we know that, I myself can say i know that. Want to know why? This might not be my place to say, and that's why i'll leave name's out, but our topic at hand has "supposedly" asked for a HUGE loan (denomination left out) to make this all right. I personally wouldnt loan anyone large sums of cash that is in question of scamming and ripping people for there money.

How much do you think it would take to erase your identity, or just aquire a new one and disappear? (i watch too much law related TV series)

Sorry if im repeating previous posts, i dont feel like reading over 1073 posts.

This is the first ray of sunshine I've seen. Whether it can be accomplished, I don't know, but if Chris is indeed taking on a huge debt to pay off his obligations, that is a good move. No, it does not cancel out what he has done, but some take the money and keep on going.

Do you have any facts to back up this statement?

One of the interesting side bars of this total

experience with Chris is that by posting here that he is very ill with life threatning health problems, and if in fact it turns out to be false as I suspect, this can be used to further proof of his intentions to deceive his creditors and is certainly evidence that can be used to illustrate how far he has gone to provide additonal fradulent activity.

As said in my previous post, i dont believe this is my place to say, but it's a very large sum of money and the person whom was asked has the ability to loan such a number i believe.

I'm a very skeptical person, having been stabbed in the back for my generousity way too many times. So my mind thought of every possible wrong thing that could be done with that money IF it was only being used to skip out of this current fire pit of a situation. I recommended the person NOT loan the money.

HerpLuver,

Well...if there's not enough collateral to borrow money from the usual institutions (a.k.a "banks"), who in his right mind would "give away" that kind of cash?

Regards.

Unless they won it in a lottery and have no concept of the value of it all,

Only a fool would loan Chris cash at this point. There is nothing "noble" in Chris taking on the debt of a loan to pay off other debt. It is not "taking on debt to pay off an obligation" (which could also be worded "taking on obligation to pay off debt"), it is finding a fool to pay off his other debt, reduce the likelihood of litigation in the short term, and buying time. Even with the loan (which again, only a fool would give knowing Chris's past contempt for the money of others), what guarantee would anyone have that he would clear all of his obligations to others. Again, his enormous arrogance for the money of others has been displayed over and over. Is this an epiphany? No, its just an attempt to avoid obligation.

Chris A., you speculate the following:
What could they possibly have done with the tens of thousands of dollars they have aquired without shipping a single animal?

Answer #1: Spent it irresponsibly, as it was the money of others. Let your imagination run with it. People who scam and con are notorious for very short term thinking on their money habits.

Answer (or point) #2: Would it matter? Not to many of us. It excuses nothing. If it is produced, how would you believe it, and what difference would it make? So he's a sick thief? There are major players in this industry who are facing the grim reaper as you read this. They will never cite it as an excuse, and they sure haven't decided its a reason to start ripping folks off.

We've had the following calamities run up the flagpole as excuses so far:

1) ice-age weather
2) personal illness
3) fire
4) careless employees (but not "the owner")
5) FedEx truck size
6) Staples slowness on ink-cartridge deliveries
7) ?

If I missed any, someone will fill me in. What's next .. dead Grandma's and flat tires ?
