Sensei Raymond Andrew is the director of the Nihon Goshin Aikido Academy. Sensei Andrew was born on July 4th 1959 in Buffalo, NY. The son of a police officer, Sensei Andrew became involved in martial arts at the age of 13. In September of 1976, Sensei Andrew joined the United States Marine Corps at the age of 17, shortly after enlisting Sensei Andrew graduated at the top of his class in communications and was then transferred over sea’s to Okinawa, Japan. While there he was assigned to the 3rd Marine Division Reconnasaince Battalion an elite special unit of the Marine Corp, during this time he studied Karate-do at a local Dojo. After his enlistment Sensei Andrew joined the Erie County Sheriffs Dept as a police officer currently assigned to Buffalo City Court. In 2003 he received his black belt and to this date he continues his training.
