The sooner we get this thing going the better. I know Cat is still waiting to hear back from Bob, but in the meantime we still need to agree on a name and get everything set up.

I was under the impression from the previous posts that y'all are planning a "secret club TSE informational breeding project what do we do?" forum that only certain people are going to have access to. Am I wrong in that impression. Is this new forum going to be accessible to ALL of us that want to see Chris prosecuted or just to a select few that are 'worthy'? (I don't care one way or another . . . the benefit is it would keep Chris of TSE from reading some of the stuff posted here. On the other hand, I'm nosey enough I'd like to be kept 'in the loop' as well.)
It sounded to me like it was only going to be accessible to only a select few that are 'worthy'. The post I quoted indicated that people who bought stuff through the auctions should have a right to be in the 'secret club'. I merely indicated that those individuals received a product for their contribution and didn't deserve the same 'right' as someone that donated (made an actual sacrifice) items for the auctions.
I guess if the new forum isn't going to be a 'super secret society' then it's a moot point regardless. Anyway, I hesitated to make that previous post to begin with . . .![]()

While it seems good in theory,I think that anybody who really doesn't have anything invested being able to make suggestions, would really defeat the purpose of the forum, if we were going to do that then we should just keep it open so every Tom, Dick and Harriette could voice their opinion,And watch it turn into a zoo.Sorry I just don't see that idea working..( and please don't Neg me again, because I hurt your feelings sorry no keys for youlucille said:I do not know if it is technically possible, but you might consider a closed forum for the group but somehow establish an open thread for those who, like me, would like to make the occasional helpful suggestion, and perhaps some would like to donate, and to have y'all publish updates once in a while. There are many who although not involved, wish y'all the best and genuinely care about the outcome.
)I may be obtuse in your mind, and that is all fine and well, And I'm glad Cathy thinks your idea is a good one,and yes Fauna is a community (good one at that) But IMO every once in a while as a whole, it is good in situations like this, not to have too many cooks in the kitchen, Yes Rich is going to donate a forum, that is really cool,But the point that seems to escape you (I say this for myself) that any outside interference would not bring solutions, only problems and I'm sorry but I really don't see it working that way. But I'll tell you what. And I mean no disrespect at all, Why don't you start a poll and see how the "Community" feels this should be handled.lucille said:Bill you are particularly obtuse, but that seems to be a trait of yours and in this case it is working to hurt other people who were the victims of Chris and may actually work to prevent a recovery if you exclude outside help. I have already made a suggestion via private email to Cathy which she thought was a good one. I believe that Fauna is a community and that we have many people that can help in various ways although they were not the subject of a particular injury. Rich has volunteered a forum, for instance.. You are putting very little thought into your answers right now Bill; I think for once you should try to think before you give an answer as this issue is really important and there are people who have lost money. I think we should figure a way to have the injured group proceed with private deliberations yet be able to take advantage of the assistance of the community as they offer contributions and ideas.

Lucille I know people are out serious money are you just coming to that conclusion ? I was 1 of the first to pony up, Just for that fact..lucille said:Bill,
I have supported the idea of a closed forum, but I am merely saying that others should be able to contribute ideas and funds; helpful ideas are not 'too many cooks' they are ways for this community to be able to give assistance to those who have been ripped off.
People have lost serious money here,
Well I'm sorry that People are selling awesome Boas and I buy them, But you know what ? you show me where I say I'm still in business, I'm just a collector at this point, But you know me so well huh ?Bill. You have been caught scamming, lying and cheating. Even recently, you have (and I recorded one) posted ads where you say you are leaving the reptile business, inevitably followed a few days later by a retraction. Fake going out of business sales are a statutory crime in my jurisdiction Bill. And instead of trying to rebuild yourself by helping those less fortunate, you are running around taking little digs at people who are trying to help. Grow up Bill. This is not a playground, people are out serious money, Bill.
. And yes this isn't a play ground, And, I don't want to grow up I like myself just fine the way I am so get over yourself will ya ?
But personal feelings aside yes lets get back to subject at hand
That is real good peice of info there and that is worthy of a thank you.Back to the subject at hand: Although the investigation and so on can be private and I have no problem with that, I think that each of us have experiences and thoughts that may help out here. For instance, I do not know if any of y'all who have lost money have looked into section 165 of the Federal Tax Code, but after all is said and done it is worth reviewing for the possibility of recouping some of your losses via a deduction. I believe in many ways the IRS is going to be of value here, the idea I gave to Cathy belongs only in the closed forum but I think that such suggestions will certainly help the cause.
I think Fauna is awesome and I know that if each of us gives what assistance we are able, we can be at our very best in helping those who have been hurt by scams both now and in the future.

I have already made a suggestion via private email to Cathy which she thought was a good one. That is exactly how I took that, and if I took that wrong then its a mistake on my part.cahrens said:Lucille,
Here's a situation where someone(Lucille) who is not financially involved, offers a suggestion/idea. Someone else(Bill) who does have money involved, says Thanks but no thanks. The next thing out of your mouth(Lucille) is an insult. You then proceed to stick your tongue out at Bill and tell him you "already made a suggestion via private email to Cathy which she thought was a good one".
I happed to agree with both of you that it needs to be a private forum.
That is all I've been saying all along 3 Groups, Don't get me wrong but from where I stand its all about helping those that got bent over the big rock...I really didn't think that by my few pennies a couple of months ago would be going to anything but a civil defence.....Well hopefully today, It will be going towards something of a greater pleasure. You can only post if you're in 1 of 3 groups of people. 1-paid and got nothing. 2-paid and got fake hets. 3-donated money or goods for auction. That's it. Not the people who won and received something in auction and not nosey people with ideas that they think nobody else has the intelligence to think up on their own. Otherwise any good information or ideas will be lost in pages of squabbles such as this 1. I also don't think that anyone should be able to donate money now to be included in this forum. The idea isn't to be able to buy your way in just because you want to stick your nose in it. The people who donated money and goods did so out of goodness of heart, not because they knew it would get them a vote in all this. -Chris
That sounds like a good name, Lets use it.cahrens said:How about
Recuperation committee
It eliminates any legal problems about using the TSE name and it describes the forum accurately. I personally don't care what it's called as long as it's not too girly. Lets get it up and running and we'll work out the details as we go. -Chris
