In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Top Shelf Exotics (Inquiry)

I spoke with Detective Brown today and he assured me that things are moving forward. The affidavits are signed and have been turned over to the Attorney General. He mentioned something about a large manhunt for a fugitive that has killed three officers. The efforts to catch that fugitive are using alot of resources but things are still moving forward with our case.
That's good to hear. And yes, there is a massive manhunt on for an escaped convict who is now blamed in the recent shooting death of a law enforcement officer. See http://www.examiner.com/a-271480~Fugitive_Named_to_FBI_s_Most_Wanted_List.html.

Just tossing in some food for thought, with hopes of not sounding like a broken record. The investigator says that the DA has the case. It is possible that charges may be brought, although not necessarily next-week. While I mentioned earlier that a civil claim could coat-tail a criminal prosecution, I did not mean to imply that it would manifest as an opportunity for victims to sound off in court about what a bum Chris was ... that's too much Court TV murder conviction stuff ... as someone suggested. What I think would be possible would be some influence on the court to craft an option for Chris that would include some restitution for his victims as a pre-requisite for his probation, should it ever get that far. Courts do it often enough. Does it mean you will get paid? Well, knowing the character of Chris, I'm not betting on it. But you would hold the leash, and if you can get a restitution clause in his probation, you then own him. He might have a mandate to make payments for 10 years (how fitting !), and if he screws up, he has violated his probation. How poetic ! The point I hope to make is to not be in such a greedy ... yes greedy ... hurry to reallocate the legal fund to something so self-serving as a "recuperation fund" .... sorry, but I laugh every time I read it. To those who disagree with me about the honor of a recuperation fund ..... call me crazy and we'll just always disagree. If you folks have no patience, the only option (besides returning all funds) that has an ounce of honor is the one that was made about donating it to charity. But it is still way too premature for that. And I mean like 6 months more minimum, and a year would not be unreasonable.

On another note, regardless of who donated, and that includes victims, but for anyone who would benefit from a reallocation of these funds to not recuse themselves from all decision making regarding "recuperation" is a gross conflict-of-interest. I'd like to say that "I feel your pain", but there isn't a person in the business with much of a history who hasn't either been taken, or had a close friend taken, for amounts bantered about here. :NoNo:

I know this is a little late in the game, ive only bothered to TRY and read this thread all the way through a few times, but has anyone noted this thread?

Theres lots of geckos in those racks, and theyre certainly chris's. Could these be the same racks that were found in the basement in that NY bust? Just curious i guess, and im not sure if anyone has said anything about this. so ignore me if they have!!

I think that the general consensus is that the gecko bust was Chris' animals. No real proof though, except that poster that came it for a while that is believe to have been Chris.
Anyway that was pretty good instructions on how to build a rack system.

OK... after seeing the pictures of those racks, I'd like to share something with you. I think it pretty much settles any debates.

If you didn't follow that previous link, here's Johnson's slide rack system:

Here's the lid to a sterilite shoe box in my living room that had leopard geckos inside. I honestly forget now, but the shoebox sterilites had up to 3 or 4 geckos in each one.
http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2005-12/1120015/sterilite.JPG

Why the lid? Please note the bright orange sticker. So we've got Cheektowaga, Sterilites, leopard geckos, and flourescent orange circular stickers...

Not that any of this makes a difference one way or the other. It won't help people get their money or animals back. No charges were pressed against the individual at the time of the gecko confiscation. I think I said before that animal officers were sent to the location for various reasons, but NOT specifically (to my knowledge) to go confiscate a bunch of abused geckos.

No one who saw these geckos considered them to be high end or of much monetary value. Some gecko people considered a few to have poor genetics (ie, kinked tails, etc). If they were hets for something, it's irrelevant now as they're pretty much all mixed up. HOWEVER, some people here may feel that what goes around comes around.

I'm not sure exactly what you are saying here Dave....are you saying that you got some of the geckos from the place busted in Cheektowaga, or....?

Incidentally, I use some of those bright orange stickers myself on occasion.

It really was. I wont deny, when he was actually semi okay... he was pretty cool. I never had a personal problem with him really, and had talked to him on occasion in the chats. He seemed pretty knowledgeable, but.. i guess... anyone can nowadays with a bit of practice.

I would have posted a picture of the sterilite bin itself. Upon inspection just now, the holes are melted in the exact same fashion as all of the ones in the racks posted in Johnson's thread. I've got a very ugly meal worm colony in the bin right now, which is why I didn't post it.

Yeah, so you guys can judge. Sterilite shoe boxes, same holes melted in them, same stickers, gecko came from the same city as Johnson. I'm pretty sure there's an association.

glad i helped a little then... though its not much. :p at least its something to keep us occupied while the real search and investigation take place.

i know your mealie colonys are ugly but would you want to show some pics?

Hey David, I understand what you're trying to do. However, I, and I am sure many others, can show you Sterlites with similar holes.

Yep, most of my tubs look exactly the same, it comes from using a soldering iron to make the holes.

Like Kevin said, I understand what you're trying to do, and appreciate it. Those could very likely be geckos from Chris, but the lids, stickers, and holes are exctly the same as what you'd see in a very many other people's racks as well. IF there was any identifying info that was written on the stickers, say animal ID numbers that could be linked to Chris's numbering system, that may be proof.
