    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Trade went very bad...need advise

Here is what happened

In response
David received his package today. He emailed me and told me two Geckos had died during shipping.
One had its head crushed the other froze to death. I responded asking for a photo, and asked him to put them in the freezer, and indicated that I would give him replacements, or give him the trade value in cash.
I made it fully clear that I would fix the situation one way or another. At this point I am going to take him at his word. He then emails me saying that all of the Geckos are sick, dehydrated, and starving to death. He sends me a photo of one of the Juveniles he claimed died in shipping, and says that it is one of the breeders (which by the way I gave him an extra one) who is sick. He leads me to Bellevue that all of the animals look as bad as the dead one that is now somehow alive. It is the same animal in both photos. I question him on this, and still reassured him that this problem would be resolved. To make sure I am not confused about what he saying I ask him for a photo of all seven of the animals I sent him in the same frame. I again indicate the problem will be taken care of. I let him know that I can send his animals back to him. The next thing I get a call saying that there is a post about me on the board of inquiry. His box doesn’t arrive, and it is starting to get later in the day. I decide to trace the package threw Airborne Express, and come to find out he has stopped shipment. I call them and find out that he stopped the shipment before the package I sent him arrived. He waited until the package I sent him was on the truck in transit to his house, and then stopped shipment. In other words he had no clue what was in the box I was sending him, when he stopped shipment. At this point I became a little suspicious of him, and I am not sure what to think. His story is just not adding up. I do not think he had any intuition of following threw on his end of the deal. I also have to question why he posted the complaint so quickly. I would think being that I gave him no indication that I wouldn’t take care of the problem, that he would have at least given me more than a couple hours to make things right by him. I have told him more than once that I was willing to work this out. As for the animals, he saw photos of the breeders, which I sent him before hand. The photos were posted on kingsnake. They are not dehydrated, or starved. I sent him a total of seven: 4 Breeders, 3 Juveniles. If you look at his photo of all seven the breeders are the ones with the fat on their tails. They are not neglected animals. I didn’t weigh the before I shipped them, but weighed the ones in the same tank that they were in, and couldn’t find one under 33 grams. The four I sent him all had laid eggs in the last 5-10 days, and he wanted proven breeders.
As for the juveniles, weight was never discussed. They are juveniles, and are smaller than adults. The ones that he claimed are dead, do look very bad, but again I have no problem replacing the animals, or working something out with him. Remember that he was sent 4 breeders, and 3 juveniles. He keeps claiming that the juveniles are the breeders I sent him. I surly didn’t send him a 12-gram breeder. In the last few weeks I have sold over 40 Blizzards, and not one of my buyers has complained. I am reading all of the posts on this forum, and it seems you all want to burn me. I know some of you guys have also been put threw the ringer on this forum also. You probably remember how frustrating it can be to be accused and convicted before you even get a chance to rectify the situation. You have also had people try to pull a fast one on the other end, and you know that you have to use a certain protocol when someone claims that they have a DOA, or sick animal. You guys want to judge me, that is fine. I can only state my case. Tell my story. I noticed that everyone so far who has posted does not know me, and has not had transactions with me. I have had a lot of good transactions, and have dealt with people you all know that can provide references for my character.
The things to remember when looking at the accusations presented by Mr. Pollard are consistency, and verifiable evidence.
1) He stopped shipment before he received the box I sent him. Why? You can check this info out with Airborne Express. He had no intention of coming threw on his end.
2) There is the issue of the same Gecko that is dead one minute, and sick the next. I have the emails he sent me on file where in the first he claims the gecko is dead, and the next it is alive.
3) He has given me no chance to try to get things resolved between us. I responded to him right away, and told him that we would take care of him. His second post is just not true. I have the email from him that was his response to my second response, and it was before he posted even the first. I was making the effort.
4) He was sent a total of 7 geckos. 4 were large, and 3 were small. He keeps trying to say that one of the little ones I traded to him as a big one. He forgets to mention that I actually sent one extra of large ones. The original deal was for 4 small ones, and 3 large ones.
5) He was never misleading. I showed him, and everyone on Kingsnake photos of the vary same animals I sent him. Again this is verifiable.
6) Last but not least, I have told him and am saying it again I am willing to resolve this. If animals died during shipping, and animals are sick I will take care of it.

I would like to offer an open invitation to all of you who have posted to contact me. You may find that I am not a bad guy after all. Everything I am saying is variable, and there are no contradictions on my side of this deal. My email is [email protected]

what will happen. I would not put it past this person to say that the animals in question are not his. He sent out perfectly beautiful geckos and the person is just trying to weasel out of his obligation in paying for it. This scenerio is not uncommon when dealing with vermon like this. Apparently shipping these poor geckos was not a mistake, but a calculated risk in assuming that he was going to receive the trade. To bad for him, that the shipper was smart enough and lucky enough to get his livestock back. My suggestion would be for the receipient to do nothing . Wait until he hears from this garbage dealer and try to tape or get in writing his admission to shipping the animals in question. At least some proof would be of benefit. Pictures unfortunately can come from anywhere. Its not proof of anything. But emails or records of conversations are! Secondly, dont send the animal back. He basically only has one recourse and if you have the necessary admission from him, that would be enough for him to think twice before attempting any spurious litigation. JERRY TRESSER
 
You accuse him of stopping his shipment before he received your sickly geckos. Are you aware that it sometimes takes up to 2 hours for Airborne Express to update their computers so that a package would show up as delivered?
I looked at that picture again and I dont see any geckos with fat tails. However, the picture clearly shows two dead geckos.
Instead of trying to make him look like the bad guy why don't you resolve the situation and people will judge you on your actions?
We aren't stupid. You sent skinny, sickly geckos and there's no way in hell you didn't realize what you were doing. If you consider those to be healthy geckos, that's just more reason for someone not to do business with you.

David Pollard I got a couple questions.

The first picture you posted you labeled it blizzard breeder female.
But then you posted the second picture....and it is very clear that there are four bigger adult females than the first picture you posted. Why?

In my own opinion the three juveniles look sickly. But the breeder females look like they just laid eggs not to long ago and are otherwise healthy....in my opinion

Why did you try to trick all of us by writing breeder female on the first picture....then you posted the second picture and it is very clear that it was really one of the juveniles that you mislabeled.

I did not realize that pictures were posted in some of the earlier messages. Those geckos are in a horrible conditon. They appear starved. Geckos are not supposed to look like concentration camp refugees. Skin and Bones. Revulting. They should never have been shipped, and this person whoever he is has no morals. Its unfortunate that nothing can be done to rid this industry of people like this. Iam very upset at these photos and grateful that this was brought to the attention of this group. JERRY TRESSER

Pictures don't lie. The geckos are malnourished to say the least. I'm sure you both exchanged tracking# when shipping. You can post them here for everyone to verify your story.

Call Airborne

You may want to call Airborne and ask them yourself. They are able to send the message to the driver as they talk to you on the phone. Their scanners are like cell phones. This is not new info, they have been doing it with cell phones.
 
Thanks, but I already have called Airborne Express. I called them when a shipment I sent for 10:30am delivery was still showing in transit at 11 am. The Airborne Express employee told me that the tracking # status is only updated when the delivery person enters it. Sometimes this happens immediately but they said it's not unusual for it to take up to 2 hours if the driver is busy and decides to enter all his deliveries at the end of his route. I emailed the person to verify that they received it ok and they said it arrived at 9:30am. (By the way, same time zone).

By the way...the pic in your ad doesn't look anything like the geckos you sent. Was that picture taken before you ran out of crickets 6 months ago?

Chris is right.

You are right. The problem is he is not showing you the photos of the four that are just like that one that I sent him. He is showing you the photo of the one that is the sick one, or the dead one. Whatever is being claimed by him now. I have seen this more than once here. Someone makes says something about a dealer, and everyone jumps in, and totally bashes him. Do they know him? Have they ever delt with him? Have they ever heard anything else bad about him? The answer is no. I think it is just fun to put someone threw the ringer. It makes life more interesting. Guilty until proven elsewise.
 
ok...MPI you are flat telling lies now...i also have ALL e-mails sent between us...the so called extra one , you said was to replace one of the juvies b/c it was too skinny and sick to send me and you didn't have an extra juvie, you told me that yourself...the pics are two different geckos they are not the same one, you are just trying to cover up your mistake..i don't know why you would say i cancelled the shipment before i got my box in that is a lie right out of your mouth..i got the box at 9:30 my time and called airborne at 7:30 your time to stop shipment..thats an hour after i got the geckos in...i posted the complaint here b/c no one should let geckos get in that kind of shape, it don't matter how good of a company you've been in the past...i never claimed the juvies were breeders if you think that then you haven't read all the post here or you just can't understand them....
Richie.... those are not in no way the same pics, the singe one marked breeder 12 grams is the very bottom gecko in the pic with the seven together...i can take single pics of everyone of them on the scales if you think the breeders are in good shape...it was not clear that the single pic was a juvie.. i will take the same pic again with a tape measure beside her to show she is 8 inches and 12 grams
i don't care how many animals you have shipped through airborne my bill is 150 dollars.. but since your so sure if i prove to you your wrong will you pay the bill??
you are not as smart as you thing saying the things you are i have not at all tried to trick anyone and if you can't see that in the pics your either dumb or someone has paid you off...i don't have not one of these breeders over 20 grams

MPI, you need to reread this thread...there is a picture of all of them and they all look terrible.
Excuse me if I take this transaction personal...I've had two similar deals in the last year where someone has tried to pawn there sick reptiles off on me. In my opinion, someone who does this is worse than a thief who just keeps the person's money.

You're really just making yourself look worse by putting up a feeble defense and tring to blame the victim for being smart enough not to follow through with this trade.

Take care of David and you might save some face. Otherwise, you're just wasting your time.

Name issue

I cannot beleve this is now an issue.
My name is Aaron Hammock. I use my sons email account because I can get into it anywhere anytime. His name is Gavin, and if you remember I corrected you on the phone more than once. I can verify this info also. You are right about the shipping label it did say Erin(by the way Aaron, and Erin are the same name, just different spellings), but that had nothing to do with me. When I ordered the lables the girl misspelled my name. I wasn't trying to trick anyone. This is kind of getting out of hand.
What next? He throws with his right hand, but writes with his left: therefore he is trying to trick us.
 
Maybe I'm not interpreting Airborne Express right. Was the delivery interrupted at 11:40 am local (CA) time?
 
well actually i stopped shipment at 7:30 CA time but according to airborne they didn't receive the notice in enough time so the package was sent on the truck..At 11:37 they tried to deliver the package but no one was at home to receive it so they took it back...then they got the message after 1:00 pm to send it back to me...i called the airborne terminal in CA to verify this
