    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

i am glad that you are all back.....to update you on Robert Gentil, I received a phone call to pick up a parcel shipped from
Daytona FL, so I went to the US knowing what it was.  I was
surprised to hear he had finally sent the snakes.... <img src="http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':angry:'>
When seeing the box they were in, I was expecting the worst.
The box was a 8" x 8"x 10" box accordioned at all corners.  I read the shipping label....3 DAY AIR!!!  Without much effort opening the already destroyed box they were in, 1 blue bag.
No Styrofoam, no insulation, no nothing.  Opening the bag, I was horrified.....1 x 12hour heat pack thrown in bag with snakes.  Two snakes....balls like I ordered...BUT STONE COLD DEAD!!! <img src="http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':('>   I immediately took them to a State side vet to have them looked at, and both had a total of 47 ticks removed from them, absolutely covered in mites, and scars from head to tail on both.  In the ad it read, CB Big Baby healthy ball pythons.......Well, this is not what I just received.....to all of those contemplating doing business with Robert Gentil  AKA  Scales and Tails in Daytona Beach FL.....DON'T!!!!   Save your $$$ and go to someone reputable, like Neil <img src="http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>   He will do you no wrong.  
For all of those who have helped us through this, THANK YOU.
 
I wanted to know if there is anyone in the Daytona Beach area that would try to confirm if this (thing) called robert gentil has a shop that the public has access to?? He is calling this so called business (scales and tales)!!  I would appreciate it if some one in that area would look into it for me. And then emai me any info. that they find??

I just needed a clarification.
According to an add posted on Kingsnake.com.
Scales and Tails is from San antonio texas.
Could we have confused the two.

I also e-mailed Robert Gentil
He says he did not send any snakes to anyone whatsoever.

Could it be that scales and tails just try to send the pythons out of the kindnes of their own heart.....but they ended up killing the animals or something

I don't think Robert Gentil from FL is the same as scales and tails from TX

The Scales and Tails in Texas and the one in FL are TWO separate businesses.....the snakes were shipped from Daytona FL....I have the shipping tags.....and if you call the telephone # I posted three posts up...you can talk to the pet store in FL yourself....Robert Gentil is a #$*&ing liar, and he's digging his own hole.   <img src="http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':angry:'>
 
I bet the Scales and Tails from Texas would not be too happy to hear about the one from Florida.
 
I just wanted to add my two cents here on this. I was the other person that posted about getting taken by this guy.
On the first of Feb. I got a letter in the mail addressed to me with no return address. Inside there was only a post-it note with
"Please email or send shipping address"
It was post marked Daytona beach Fl. I am guessing that it is from Robert Gentil since I don't know anyone else in Daytona. I emailed my shipping address which he already had and used to send the letter. <img src="http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'>?
Since then I have not received or heard anything further from him.

I am having mixed feelings about your whole ordeal.

Yes I am happy to know that people care enough to send their thoughts to a "bad" company.

But I am also saddened by it.

The same people should do research before sending hate mail to a "good" company. (make sure they are sending to the right person)


I hope people realize that there IS a difference between the two companies.

I am in fact the one that started this board, back in December/early January.....and without the help of the
caring, dediacated people that religiously monitor this board,
I would still be stuck between a rock and a hard place....
First of all,   I personally know that your company is not
affiliated with Robert Gentil @Scales and Tails in Daytona Beach, FL...
Secondly, I only came to the help of these people because
my kid was involved...and NO ONE messes with my children.
Thirdly,  the reasoning behind Robert being on the BOI hit list
is because I have every piece of documentaion that can verify everything that has been stated about this guy... <img src="http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':angry:'>  
I personally want to say that I formally appologize for any hard feelings that may have risen from this, but the names
of both your business, legit, and Robert's company, legit but a joke....
After the help from the people on this BOI, and many NASTY emails from this guy, I did in fact received two ball pythons from his place of business.....DEAD, and low and behold, even with the shipping receipt, all the documentation, and proof of this jerks actions, he still had the GULL to deny everything...

Beth, This Robert jerk lives in Florida then he needs a State permit to sell these snakes so what I would do if I were you is contact the State game and freashwater fish commission and report him.You will have to send them copies of your e-mails and photos of the dead snakes and a discription of how they were shipped along with the airbill and his home address,if he does have the proper permits then they will inspect his cages and what not and then fine his a$$ if he does not have the permits then he goes to jail and they fine his a$$ plus they can take his animals away for good.I have some friends that are gamewardens here in Florida so you can send me his info and I will have them check on him but they say you will still have to make a formal report.I only hope that this a$$ comes to the show he and I can have a little "CHAT" <img src="http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'>
