    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Bad Guy Update on the boa I purchased from Carlos Rojas

I have a couple of questions for Carlos too. You said that Dan told you the mites were concentrated in tubs and tubs of other cages. He said they were concentrated in the cages. Can you supply that correspondence? Also, did you supply the packing material, snake bag, box etc. or did the pet shop?
 
If this wasn't so pathetic it would be hilarious. A couple of you keep arguing even when the truth has been put in your face. My husband did what he should do and posted on here that people should be careful when they purchase an animal from Carlos. According to some of you we had no right to be angry over being sold an animal that should have been in perfect condition. That's what we were told when we made the agreement to buy him. We have pictures of the snake and the enclosure he is in and there are mites. I guess when we were lied to about the product availability for the PAM and it cost us 5 extra days of waiting time before we were able to get this under control should have made us happy right? When someone sells an animal they have to take responsibility for the condition of the animal. Carlos first offered to send PAM and when we found out that Amazon didn't sell PAM we asked Carlos what the name of the stuff was that he ordered. Not only did he send an inferior product he lied about it. I think considering the fact that he got paid for the snake he could have at least been honest so we could have ordered the product he originally said he sent.

He lied right here on the BOI and not one of you have even mentioned it. And a couple of you have even defended him since. Amazon DID NOT have PAM on their site last week when Carlos claimed he ordered it. Amazon said that it was IMPOSSIBLE for anyone to have ordered it last week and receive a shipping date. They aren't out, they aren't backed up on orders... Here's the tricky part...try and follow me...THEY ARE NOT CURRENTLY SELLING PAM! Call them and ask them if you really want to know the truth. To get a shipping date you would have to be able to put the PAM in your shopping cart. Can everyone follow that? It wasn't anywhere on the site so it could not be added to a cart. GET IT YET? So I guess he lied about Amazon but not about the mites...or maybe there was a fake Amazon site that he ordered from... or maybe it was Walmart and he can't spell...whew ha Carlos is making a name for himself. We don't have to do a thing to help him with that.

I think it is really so sad that you would verbally attack and try to discredit a person who was doing what they thought was the right thing to do and warn other people. We will go back to dealing with certain types of breeders and never have to worry about this type of situation again.
 
I do not think other people using persons FC username is permitted (Married or unmarried) Might want to check with a site moderator on that. Also, if you do a simple "Amazon search" for Provent-A-Mite, it filled in my search box without even completely typing the word in and gave me similar (But not equal) products. Is it possible that Carlos was unaware or confused? I think offering a helpful solution (sending product free of charge, whatever the product may be) says a lot, He has responded and has not made any harse claims seeming apologetic about the whole situation. Dan and or Katy, Is it possible to post pictures with the mites on the snake or the infestation? Mites are a horrible thing to have to deal with.... But unfortunately they do come with the territory... Quarantine is always the best solution. Hopefully you can eradicate them!

Might wanna check out those pesky rules and regulations. First of all, everyone should be careful when buying from you! So now I'm confused. You're saying this is about being angry over an animal that should have been in perfect condition (what no pics?), but your husband says it's about a lie. You have pictures? POST THEM! Kelsey, in post #3 of this thread asked a great question, asked for photos and screenshots. One out of three were provided BY CARLOS and not you! I'm sorry, I mean Dan. Lastly, prove the snake is not in perfect condition. Aside from it being "quite the looker", "better than I thought" and "outstanding".

Who didn't see that coming? I thought it would be a business trip. Sounds like your snakes don't get much attention. Anywho, you got back on the 7th after being on vacation and did not check on the snakes for two days. Got it. 25+ years experience. Got it.
 
Katy, there may be some unwanted infractions here due to your posting under your husband's account. Please let him know. Pretty sure you can start your own account. Would love to hear more from you and will hopefully be the first to welcome you aboard.

As far as getting pam from amazon last week, they didn't have it. Or maybe all of this is a big scam and Amazon is in on it.

So you didn't see any sign of mites until you returned from vacation?

How long were you on vacation for?

Please understand that people often come here and make spurious threads to damage the reputation of sellers out of malice. We are not saying that you/Dan are lying, we are trying to gather additional information out of caution.

These threads are taken very seriously, and are expected to be backed up with evidence and information. When there are holes in the information, we need to ask questions for clarity.
 
Perhaps I missed it, but I never saw Carlos specifically say "I ordered the PAM from Amazon."

I saw him say "I will order some from Amazon."

That doesn't mean he was lying. It means he intended to buy some from Amazon. Then when he saw it wasn't available on Amazon, he sent a different spray from Amazon. Probably because the Amazon shipping is a lot faster than most other websites, and he thought you were in a hurry to treat the mites.

And why is this even something being complained about to begin with? Why does it matter if he bought it from Amazon or not?

Each side seems to have made mistakes which lead to this thread. Carlos has gone above and beyond, even though there is no proof that there are mites at all, Dan/Katy are becoming nasty/vindictive.

It has been said many times that it is how you address an issue that defines the kind of person you are.
 
There are so many childish posts in this thread. I'm getting tired of the bickering and infighting within our hobby. Our hobby is probably doomed for serious government curtailment, and this will be accomplished partly because of our childishness.
 
In his post #34 here is exactly what he said

Correct. I ordered the PAM off amazon with 2day prime shipping. When I checked the order number the following day it said it would not ship till the 22nd despite the fact I ordered it on 2 day shipping.
