In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Vincent Russello, attempting a scam

O.K, O.K!

Now that he has ended the auction on Reptiscam, and has decided to rejoin the discussion here. Lets let this thread sink to the bottom of Fauna and ignore Vince. That way we dont have to hear from him until he reveals his new morph to the world. I dont know about you guys, but I am tired of reading this guys auto-scamography. Now that he is going to keep his $1000 Red Gecko  We really have nothing to talk about. Vince is a liar as proven by his doctored picture. Whether it was doctored with photoshop, or a light bulb. It doesnt matter as that gecko is not worth a thousand bucks, but that picture alone is worth a thousand words. Here are the first 20 in no particular order.

lie, canard, con, falsehood, falsity, fib, fiction, inveracity, misrepresentation, misstatement, prevarication, story, tale, untruth, fish story, scam, tall tale, whopper.

Ok Vince...I'll take a shot at it.

You seem to be missing the point that is of concern to all who have posted. We are not upset because you have lousy camera equipment or crummy photographic skills. Those can be fixed with a better camera and some practice. What has everyone up in arms is that you took the first photo....loaded it on your computer...took a good look at it....and then said "Yup, that's the one I will put up on the ad".

You made a conscious decision to use a photo that, by your own posted proof, misrepresents the animals you wanted to sell. know full well that the animals looks nothing like that photo. You have proved it yourself by posting at least 6 other photos of the animals that do not show 10% of the red coloration in the first

You then make it worse with the text in the ad by calling this animal "one of a kind" and " a new color phase" Are you beginning to get why everyone is unanimously against you on this one Vince? You can tapdance all you want on this one. No one has to prove that what you did was blatantly wrong. You have done that yourself.

Your original bursts of idiocy that got you in trouble a few months back can be chalked up to a bad temper and extreme youth. Both tend to improve with age and no one is really holding those episodes against you. This one demonstrates a much deeper character flaw...dishonesty. That is one trait you will find this board does not excuse, condone or forgive.

Unless you can pull this one out with hard evidence of that animals true color being fire engine red you have done yourself and your reputation irreparable harm here.

I would think carefully before you respond

this gecko is red and is one of a kind. thats my responce. this is not a scam at all , and the gecko is no longer forsale.

Just so happens that I work with by pixel color information in machine aided vision for a living :D (true btw)

using normal photoshop can prove there was color manipulation done by either software or indirect (read NOT overhead as from a basking lamp) lighting. Pic number 1 is a composition of the original repti-bid photo and Vince's latest picture with the biting male. Notice the highlighted band looks very similiar in both pictures. This is a *fairly* accurate representation of that part of the leo's body color.

The second photo is using the pictures negative, and it's histogram information to determine what colors match. The bands on the left side (original repti-bid pic) show as a bright yellow. We know they appear reddish to the eye in both pics. Notice however on the left side, the visible leg, shadow underneath the leo and the shadow on the lid it's sitting on also appear the same bright yellow. On the right side only the tail bands appear bright yellow. This shows the original picture has a red wash over the entire image. No ifs. No ands. No butts. It's applied mathematics at work.

Let's take one more shot just to give you the benefit of the doubt. This one is a simple yes or no question.

Can you honestly say that the first picture posted on this thread is a 100% accurate representation of the true color of the animal?

I am just asking for a yes or a no....no editorializing or sidestepping.

the blurry ness and the bleeding of colors made it apear to reduce the spots on this leo and the close up light made it look brighter then it would with the naked eye. but the red color is ther 100% from head to tail. that photo was result of bad lighting and that alone

I did not say intentional. I don't know you so I can't very well judge you. The red wash is there. The reason why it is there is unknown, but the fact still remains that the picture was enhanced abnormally somehow.

To the charge of being a scammer, we the jury find the defendant Vincent Russello.....GUILTY!

:lol01:

lol nice use of the smily faces, what a joke this is getting to be

Actually Vince...

This whole thing has been a JOKE from the very begining. The sad thing is that you are the only one that wont admit it. Get a clue and go away until your new morph comes out!

Vince -
If we go back to the pic of the red leo and the blizzard or ablino on the tidy cat box. You say the cord was green. What color was the shirt you were wearing? I'm not trying to bust you out. I want to try to correct that photo and see if you feel it represents the gecko's true color. I'm not accusing you of anything, except poor photography skills at this point ;)
