Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Wendy Griffin- HORRIBLE WOMAN!

I would like to apologize to Dan for situation with the bearded dragon and thinking he had in some way caused its death.

After doing a ton of research it appears the dragon most likely had hook worms, I had no idea that a dragon would gain weight and grow with a parasite infection. He had went from 130 grams in Sept to 146 in Oct

I want to thank some very nice breeders who contacted me privately and explained very nicely what they thought was wrong with the dragon and the indications I should have seen and explained to me what I had done wrong in the husbandry and care of the dragon.

I have ordered the book Understanding reptile parasites and diseases so that in the future I will be more educated on health problems. I had no idea that the over drinking of water pointed to parasites which would have helped me know he was in some way not healthy.

I would also like to thank Dan for his recent help with some leopard gecko questions I had. I had asked a couple of breeders and did get answers but not complete answers and asked Dan for help, he in no way owed me anything by helping me but responded super fast and completely answered the questions I had and was truly very nice in answering the questions.

I am sorry I was not educated enough to know there was a problem with the dragon and I hope it in no way affected any of his current stock of reptiles.

Who wrote this and what have you done with wendy?

LOL, she must be attempting to redeem what little is left of her disgustingly tarnished reputation. Good Luck with that!

What more could you possibly ask from her? I think this thread came to the best possible conclusion; very few have the guts to admit that they were completely wrong and make a public apology.
-Alice Abela

From anyone else I would CERTAINLY agree with you. Too bad she had to lie and manipulate the situation COUNTLESS times which effectively ruined any chances for such an apology to be easily accepted, or believed for that matter. In my opinion she's still no better, she saw the physical condition of the specimen and shipped it anyways.

There is no excuse for ignorance, yet I've seen PLENTY of excuses. This is just another in long line of TIRED attempts..... If she's seen the error of her ways, so be it. Admit to it, dont make further excuses. Now this time its hookworms. Great.

The same photo of the sick specimen that was shown here in these threads was just shown to my 10 year old daughter. I asked her, "honey, do you like that dragon?"...

Want to know her response?

"Thats alive?! Why is it so thin? Whats wrong with it? That cant be alive!"

No prompting at all......... If a ten year old can visually see a ill animal, this individual who claims to breed and own a business OBVIOUSLY should. Hookworms, The plauge, whatever....... There is NO excuse. She can play dumb all she likes, she still cannot own up to the fact that there was something visually wrong with the dragon and she shipped it anyways, knowing this. Just because she could not identify it does not mean it is okay to ship it. That would be like me saying I canot identify IBD in a boid so shipping it to a customer is OK! YIPPIE! We're all in the clear! Follow Wendy's lead everyone!

She shipped an animal that was in no such condition to be sold or moved for that matter. There is NO excuse for ignorance. All that is left for her now is to "find god" and use that as an excuse next............... This is pathetic.

i do agree with chris here. it is odd how she diagnosed a dead beardie THAT is not in her possession with hookworms without a stool sample. the last time i checked that was the only way to thouroughly diagnose any worm infestation.

Wes and Chris, I applaud the both of you for staying on this subject within the two threads here and in Hell.

It appears that Wendy took some time off and realized she was wrong. I hope this is true.

She obviously has little experience and needs to research more before she attempts to breed and sell any animal.

Wendy,
I believe that was a very nice apology that you wrote, if you believe your statements.

Most will not for now.

Word of the day- followthrough

I will believe it when I see it. If she does in fact turn things around I will applaud her. If not then we'll know not to deal with her at all. In the end the truth will shine through, good or bad.

"After doing a ton of research it appears the dragon most likely had hook worms, I had no idea that a dragon would gain weight and grow with a parasite infection. He had went from 130 grams in Sept to 146 in Oct"

wendy from the looks of it that dragon had a worm infestation for quite some time. noone can provide the true length of the dragon at the time of death. you claim it was 14 inches with a tail nip that was only 2 inches. this makes it 16 or so inches, a HEALTHY male bearded dragon would be alot longer than that. along with the book on parisites and diseases you should have grabbed some books on the care for them too..... cause from reading some of your responses it makes me think your lacking in care knowledge.

your response to all this still doesnt make up for WHY you didnt understand that a dragon that weighed a mere 150 grams was healthy. its more than just worms its poor husbandry on your end.

you didnt understand that the diarehha(sp?) must have meant something, im only going to assume that if the beardie was that thirsty and thin it had to have the runs to drain it of the fluids.

Mike, I don't want to argue about this anymore, I had a couple of very nice people contact me privately and ask me a ton of questions and 3 of the 4 agreed that it sounded like hook worms and that he probably had them when I bought him in May or had been treated for them, then sold and never recovered from treatment and I respect their thoughts.

He gained weight from the time I had him and was active which made me think he was healthy. Ive read all the care sheets and honestly never saw one that went into depth of a dragon should weight this much at this age. I looked at auctions and dragons for sale quite often and there were a lot in the same weight range.

Basically my deeper research into the dragons size and weight was a day late and a dead dragon short.

Its hard to see the light for the day wehn you are backed into a corner and everyone is calling you an idiot.

Its much easier to see the light for the day when someone says, Hey Wendy, Im not going to attack you but if you can tell me a little more about this dragon I may be able to help you figure out what went wrong so you don't haev this happen again.

I have no idea if the dragon had hook worms, but 3 very intelligent breeders said based on my comments that was their thought since dragons often gain a small amount of weight and are active with hook worms and that shipping him most likely over stressed him and sent him to his death.

I did buy the leopard gecko book since I only have leos and veileds now and if I do decide later to get into dragons again I will be better prepared.

RIGHT??!?!?!???

She can, with this apology, suddenly spell too.
It's a miracle.
Hallelujah!!!
And her punctuation is alright as well.

Maybe she was abducted by aliens and given a brain transplant...

Sorry guys, this is NOT a mentally disturbed reptile owner like sheila.

This woman is just NOT someone to buy from. She has repeatedly lied here. She was offered good advice and in a friendly manner. We were ALL wrong. I don't care about you feeling you were backed into a corner wendy, YOU KNEW that lizard was not right when you sent it. I know it. You know it. Most readers here know it.

As with everyone else, time will tell with as well. Personally I think that if you do sell more reptiles we'll see you back here again, defending yourself again.

Have you considered cats? They pretty much take care of themselves. Probably a better avenue for your husbandry style.

Wes, Like I said, Im not going to argue about this anymore.

I have not lied, I did not know he was ill and I am deeply sorry for not knowing the signs of parasites that I should have known.

I have been selling for what will be 2 years next month and this is the first problem I have had, other than this I am on 2 good guy threads.

All I can do is learn from my mistake and learn from the experience of others that helped me out with this problem and helped to nicely educate me about indications of health issues and proper amounts of weight gain.

I never said you WERE ALL wrong, but I did act poorly when I felt that everyone was attacking me and backed me into a corner. I should have sat back and read things more clearly.

Alice, I have to disagree with you on this point in particular.

One of the FIRST things a truly bad guy does, after denial, is to appologize. Just because it took wendy months to do so does not mean she is either sincere or believable. SHE IS NIETHER.

She should be one everyones do NOT buy from or SELL to lists. I have very little doubt that she will be in the spotlight again. I also have little doubt that there will be a negative connotation to her future presense.

When she has more near dead animals for sale you go ahead and buy some. Then you can tell us first hand what changes have been made. There is always the chance, however slight, that she is sencere. Of course there is also always a chance, however slight, that I will be the first to produce a truly luesistic(?) cal. king too. I'd put the odds of that at about the same as the odds for wendy being for real this time.

Well Wendy, I for one applaud you for your honesty in owning up to the problem. I think most others would have "disappeared" after the lashing you have taken! A lashing that, for the most part I think was well deserved. But for you to apologize to Dan and to the error of your ways, i think is admirable! Now it is up to you and you only to live up to it. I really think that this thread has made it's point, and that time is the only way that Wendy Collins Griffin will ever be "proved out".
For everyone else out there.....think of this "WHAT WOULD JESUS DO?"
To all out there "Have A Nice Day!....you to Wendy!
just my two cents

I think that what you are referring to is that Dans profile stated he had 14 years experience and he is 17 having had his first reptile at age 3 that if merely owning a reptile at age 3 gave him 14 years experience then mine would go back to my first reptile pet.

Which does not mean that I claimed I had experience with ALL reptiles but that experience DOES NOT date back to the first pet you owned.

And again I am sorry all of this happened and I am sorry I did not know the warning signs for possible parasites. I thank the nice people who contacted me and helped me see my errors and I am doing all I can to become better educated.

I just wanted to apologize publically and admit that I acted pooly, showed my ass several times as I was very upset and I should not have let my being upset cloud my judgement about my errors.

I probably should have just apologized to Dan in private but I thought that more than him needed to be apologized to for my poor actions.

Wendy, i appreciate the apology, long wait, but it still came

i count up all the years i have owned reptiles as my experience..even though my father took care of them until i was 6 and basically knew how to feed and handle

again, thanks for the apology, i apprciate it....now lets let this thread drop back to the 15th page again...
