In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I'm trying to see how big P. vitticeps can actually get. If you have a giant Inland Bearded Dragon, please post a picture. Over the years I have heard many first hand stories of people's 26, 30, and even 36 inch Bearded Dragons, but none could ever be verified. If you have a monster, please post a pic (preferably on a tape measure) so we can all see if a true giant really exists. The biggest one I have seen, in person, was 22 7/8". I don't believe a 26" P. vitticeps exists, but I would love for someone to prove me wrong! Let's see what you've got...

All of my adults are between 16"-20". Averaging at about 17"-18". I have people tell me they are "small" because bearded dragons should be more like 24"....

I would love to see some pictures of giant bearded dragons too, I have had people claim they are HUGE but no pictures.

My female is the biggest one I have personally seen and she is only 19" When I first got her I thought she was huge (I still do) and so do a lot of my customers. Of course I still have those who claim there's are a lot bigger and one guy says his is at least twice her size. That's right, not just bigger, AT LEAST twice her size. I've told him I'd like to see this world record bearded dragon but he has not offered to bring it in so I can get a picture of it. I think its the same guy with the 10 foot ball python.

Yea the biggest I have I think it right around the 20-21 inch mark but she's only 465grams
I too would love to see a dragon over the 23 inch mark

LOL, a 19" bearded dragon is very normal, not small. A 15" dragon is small. Anything over 24" is probably exaggeration or vitticeps/Barbata hybrid aka German giant (do "pure" German giants even exist anymore?). If your dragon gets 25"+ it is not a pure vitticeps (or pagona at all) or it is the result of a pituitary disorder.

BTW, there is no difference in body length in our domestic vitticeps from wild vitticeps.

i found a guy who said his dragon is a german giant was 800+ grams but when i looked at the pic it looked no bigger then a normal dragon just a little fat (guess thats the 800 grams) he was asking $250 so i told him if he wanted me to purchase it as a giant from him claiming the size and everything i wanted a pic next to a tape measure and one on a scale he said ok ive been waiting 2 days for the pics
ive never personally seen a dragon at 800 grams but i think its prolly more common then one 24-25inches if any

The biggest I've ever heard of was 700 range but then again I'm kinda new but I figured 800 grams would be very uncommon and 24+ inches a myth

Ha ha, I always thought 24" was realistic, until I started digging into the lineages of the German Giant, and found out that the length was attributed to it being a hybrid and not a selectively bred characteristic. I don't believe modern German giants carry much if any of the barbata gene pool anymore, especially since the majority seem more particular about out crossing.

Well like I said I'm new so I can't speak for years past but I have yet to see anything that would be a giant and when I see giant listed as part of a dragons genetic I ignor it I have 2 dragons that ate said to have giant genes but I don't consider them to have it I think I put it in the same catogory as luci there marketed not really true giants/Luci's but Then again what do I know

Yes, length would likely be a multifactorial trait and unless crossed with a completely different specie it would take planning and a lot of time to reproduce them consistently (entire clutch reaching the length).

Me I would like to see things like coral glow, pied, and other things u would see in geckos and ball pythons sucks we can't get wild caught to get new genes we have been using the snake dragons for what 40 years yes diverse now but still nothing like new. Genes to toss in the mix
Much rather see new colors and patterns then a dragons that's 30 inches long
Even as much as it would impress me to see one that big
Just thinking about trying to house all those big dragons if u bred them lol it would be to much lol mine already take over my room And I only have 12 adults

yeah ive seen that pied but has it been proven as a trait or is it more of a paradox
theres no doubt you have some insane dragons and i hope to have a collection like that someday but im talking morphs that are available like i can get a pied ball anytime or even an albino for that matter or how about even a spinner and thats just basic ball pythons something we lack with dragons
like i love the way a dunner looks but it being soo new the prices for a single gene dragon is just insane like if i pay $xxxx i want it to be a 2 or 3 gene animal something that i cant just buy and make it will hold its value much longer like i could understand paying $1500 for a tiger, dunner leather or even more for one with trans but for just a colored dunner when you break it down its just another co dom/ dom trait that can be bred into a regular and get 50% dunner without all the diversity the value cant sustain itself for that long
if i paid asking price on a dunner baby by the time i bred it i would be losing money lol
not to take away from how far u guys have come its truly remarkable givin the pool u have those dragons are just insane looking
and we really need to make a dragon calculator like geckos and bp's have make things so easy

Ha ha Mike, I understand that. Don't take this the wrong way, better for us to take this to PM than directing this thread in a different direction. In respect to Kevin's who asked a pretty interesting question. ;)

ok back on topic lol ncrippen has a add up saying his dragon frankie is 24 inches and 540 grams i asked him to post a pic for us with a tape measure so lets hope we get to see a dragon thats really that big
