In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Maybe it's just me, but I've never had a cricket order be such a hassle in the past. First, we've ordered off and on over the years online (usually depends on how easily we can get crickets nearby and seasonal needs.) We've never had the hassles we've experienced with this one company. They say it's too hot in theis part of the country to ship USPS and want us to pay more than twice the order price for UPS. Because of our past experiences, we replied that shipping with USPS would be fine and we understood that any mishaps were not their responsibility (our local PO has handled enough for us that we typically get calls at 7:30 for any packages...like they know our number by heart.)

Anyway, to make a long story short, it's been almost 2 weeks now and we've gotten nothing but the run-around. They've written saying they never heard back from us, written that they would ship this past Saturday with USPS Priority Mail as it should be cooler then. Well, nothing came today except an e-mail stating that we should have replied to that message. Go figure, do they not understand their own message? Debbie got upset with them today and finally wrote them a hot note bacause of it.

We've never had such troubles with any live food supplier and would welcome any comments or experiences that others have had. I thought that I had read a previous thread but after looking back 4 pages, decided to just write this and see what happens. Maybe it's just me, but I've definitely had better experiences.

I don't usually complain about things but I had a recent experience with them that will prevent me from ordering from them again.
First I sent them an order over the internet and used Paypal to pay for it. Unbeknowing to me the order they received on their end was incomplete because of a glitch through Paypal.
This would have been fine if they had contacted me and told me there was an obvious problem but I never found it out until I called a few days later to see when my order was shipped. They then told me they had shipped out a partial order on the items that did show on the order and it had gone out the day before I called. Well!! After asking them nicely why they never called or e-mailed me with the
order problem they told me it was a screw-up and they were sorry. I then found out that they never even sent out the partial shipment at all and to this they said there was a screw-up and that again they were sorry.
They did immediately refund all my money and even sent me a couple of free items but only after they admitted they screwed up at least twice.
I don't know about you folks but when animals need to be fed I don't want to hear excuses on top of excuses. And although they admitted their mistake and gave me my money back I will never go back to them.
I'm as easy going as they come when it comes to giving breaks to people but don't try to make things better by throwing excuses at it. It only comes back to haunt you.

I used wormman for a while and always had good luck,That is until 2 weeks ago. They gave me the same deal, Too hot to ship usps, And UPS was an additional $18.50, Yea right!!! Too much to ship crickets!!! I requested them ship anyway, And I would take respnsibility. They said They could only ship if the post office held it there. I now use Reptileshack $24/1000 shipped or LLL Reptile $16.95/1000 Shipped. Hope this helped.
To double d: I know you live here in Oklahoma and I have had very few loses with both companies, Even in 90 degree weather.

That happened to me too, I order 3K crickets and I have to cancel the order after they e-mail me saying that ups charge will be an additional 36.00+ because is to hot to ship USPS, now I getting my crickets locally and even save money.

I also know what you are going through. They told me the same about the additional $18 thing because it was to hot. Every time I placed an order it took them about 2 days before they sent me the email about being to hot, blah, blah, blah. In the first instance, I had ordered 2000-1/4" crickets. Well, atleast half of them escaped enroute (I felt so bad for the post man) because some of the screen where they staple it to the box was missed which left a nice escape route. This order was originally placed on 5/25/02. They told me they could give me a refund or credit towards my account with them. I needed to order some more crickets for my adults and subadults so I asked if they could just send them with that order that was placed on 6/3/02. I get a reply saying yes on 6/5/02 and then another on 6/6/02 saying it was to hot to ship but they could send them out over night for an additional $18 or $18.50. Well by this time I was completely out and I told them to ship over night and the send the replacement crickets with it. Well, the order came and no replacement crickets were included. So now I'm in a delima because I ran out of the 1/4" for my babies the night before and was counting on them coming in with the order I just paid an extra $18 to have delivered overnight because it was too hot. I emailed them again letting them know the replacements were not sent with the order. I don't even recall a I'm sorry or an excuse. Well, I figured I would give them one more chance and ordered 2000-1/4" crickets on 6/7/02 because I was going to need them in addition to the 1000 replacements they failed to send in this last order. I recieve an email on 6/11/02, saying once again, due to extreme heat, and you know the rest. This really made me made. I was totally out of 1/4" crickets since the night before the last order came on 6/7/02, the 1000-1/4" crickets were not shipped with this order like they said they would be and I had to go pay big bucks through the local petshop (10 for $1.00) to feed my 15 babies over the weekend and until I recieve my order on Wednesday June 12th (which would have been the normal 2 days I would have gotten them in) only to get an email on the 11th saying it was too hot. My blood was boiling at this point and I emailed them on June 12th asking them to cancel my order for the 2000-1/4" crickets placed on June 7th and to credit my visa for the replacements that were never sent out. I told them that if they would have sent them out on Monday when I placed my order online the Friday before that they would have been here while it was in the low-mid 80's. Not to mention, I have not received my refund back as of June 24th when I had to call them to find out why I have not been refunded yet. I got an email on June 25th saying, I am sorry Julie, I will process the refund now. I am not sure but the request disappeared. I failed to check it this week to see if I have been refunded yet, which this thread has reminded me to do. I do not use them anymore and will not use them again. I find that Groom's is really good and not one mention of that Overnight $18 crap. He helped me out when I was in a tight spot (because my crickets were never sent and had to place an order which was past the cut off time and the weekend was a day away) and it only cost me $10 extra for overnight with him (not due to the heat). I'll let yall know if I was given my credit back when I check on it tomorrow. I'm sorry for the rambling, but this brought back a recent bad memory. I am a very calm and have a laid back personality in which it takes alot to boil my blood and they just pushed my buttons one to many times. Thanks for listening (reading). I hope everybody else has better luck with them than I did.

For some reason it seems like they are trying to get extra money, in this I mean by paying more for shipping, now I know crickets do not weigh that much.
We too had a similar experience, except we didn't get a run around we got nothing at all, no one answered their phone or e-mails, we finally disputed the charge to paypal, and got our money back, and have never gone back.
Bad business all around. Good luck to you all!

Hello Everyone,
I am not here to make excuses, but I would like to explain. During hot and severly cold weather we have to take precautions so that the feeders get to you alive. There are some states that are too hot to ship to via normal delivery. We state that on our site. We are not trying to trick anyone or get extra money. There are states that will not get feeders alive if we ship through normal delivery.
Old people, young people, and feeders do not fare well in this weather. It is 96 degrees here today and the heat index is 105. That makes it 120 in a delivery truck.
In the hot states we have to take these precautions in order to get delivery to you alive.
I am not making excuses, but I am trying to explain.
We also lost Barbara three weeks ago, and have been short staffed. Barbara was one of our full-time customer service reps. If you have had problems with us please call or email me and I will work it out with you. We are actively searching for a new full-time customer service rep if anyone is in NJ and interested. Thank you for listening.

I almost forgot to let yall know. No, I have not yet received my credit as of 7/2/02. I guess I will have to try calling, if I can get past the recording. If not, I guess I will have to email them as usual and wait for a reply.

I have used wormman.com for about two years now and love their stuff. I have never had an issue. Sorry to hear about the issues some of you are having.
I was given the option of shipping normally without a guarantee of live delivery or shipping overnight. I chose overnight. They gave me the choice. I chose to waive the guarantee of live delivery and I got the cricket just fine. Their site says that they do not guarantee live delivery over 90 degrees.
I will continue to use them. I have had too many issue with other feeder companies with spiders and other bugs in with my crickets and worms. Wormman has clean bugs.
  Thanks!

Not long after posting this morning I received a call from wormman stating that I was credited shortly after my last email on June 24th. I told them that it did not show up when I checked as of last night and she assured me it had been credited back but said this has happened in the past that after crediting on their end the credit did not go through on the customers end for some reason and I was told that if it doesn't show up by Friday, to give them a call and they will put it back through again. So, I guess I will check again on Friday and hopefully it will be there. Wormman, thanks for calling to let me know.

I have been ordering from wormman for some time now and have had good luck most of the time. Considering they send crickets from Top Hat Cricket Farm in Kalamazoo, MI only about a half hour away from me, I usaually get my order the next day. But this week really got my blood boiling, it clearly stated on their website that if you ordered by 50pm Sunday your order would be shipped this week after that it would be shipped on the 8th. I placed my order on Sunday around 20pm and on Monday afternoon I received an email stating my order would ship on the 8th. I immediatly emailed back asking why (I followed their instructions) and was told that it was supposed to say Thursday on their website, and the only way I could get my order this week was to pay an additional $19.50 for express shipping. Well this is another quote from their website: "We are not happy untill you are happy" but it didn't seem to bother them so much that I wasn't happy.

I TO HAD A PROBLEM WITH WORMMAN. IT WAS RIGHT AFTER CRISTMAS. I PLACED A ORDER FOR 3M CRICKETS, AND I GOT A E-MAIL SAYING THAT I WOULD GET THEM BEFOR THE NEW YEAR. DAY AFTER THE NEW YEAR I CALLED AND E-MAILED THEM AND THEY SAID THEY WOULD BE SHIPPED THE NEXT DAY. THIS WENT ON FOR 2 WEEKS OF THEM GOING TO BE SHIPPED THE NEXT DAY. FINALY AFTER 2 WEEKS HAD WENT BY THEY SAID IT WOULD BE 3 DAYS BEFORE I WOULD GET THEM. SO I WENT TO PETCO AND GOT $10 WORTH TO DO THEM FOR 2 DAYS. WELL WHEN I GOT HOME MY BREEDER MALE DRAGON THAT WAS WORTH ABOUT $400 WAS DEAD FROM NO FOOD, AND A WEEK LATER ANOTHER OF MY FEMALES DIED BECOUSE OF MALNUTRICIAN. WELL I E-MAILED THEM ASKING FOR THEM TO REPLACE THE DRAGONS WITH COMPARABLE COLOR, AND THAT I WOULD HELP BUY FINDING 1 ON KINGSNAKE. THEY E-MAILED ME BACK TELLING ME IF I EVER CONTACT THEM IN ANY WAY THAT THEY WHERE GOING TO SUE ME FOR TRYING TO SCAM THEM. IF IT WAS A SCAM I WOULD NOT HAVE 2 DRAGONS IN MY FREEZER. ALSO ONE MORE THING HALF THE CRICKETS ARRIVED DEAD. I NOW USE ARMSTRONG, I HAVE A DEAL WORKED OUT WITH THEM BECOUSE I NOW ORDER 5M CRICKETS EVERY 2 WEEKS.

Stanley,
Tell the truth now. I will let you speak for yourself. Why don't you tell everyone how we shipped second day for you for free even though we were in the right with our posted shipping schedule? Why don't you tell everyone how, two months later, you claimed that the charges on your credit card for orders you placed with us were fraudulent and you attempted charge backs with your credit card company? Why don't you tell everyone that you are angry because you lost those disputes with us and the credit card company because the orders were legitimate?
Our site stated that we would have the office open on Jan. 31st, and would only shipping via express over the holiday week. It also stated that any non-express orders would be shipped on the 7th.
I will post the email between Mr. Whitt and our farm. I did forward him the name of my attorney and his number for futher correspondence because he was telling us that he wanted hundreds of dollars and perhaps thousands of dollars because we would could not ship standard to him over the holidays. Please read the emails for yourselves.
I take my lumps when I need to, but this is a time when we were right.
I will take my lumps and if you think I am wrong I will take it, but I have to protect my business also, which sometimes means that we have to have days when we cannot ship unless we use express. We do our best to communicate that on our website and in our email. There are times when it gets too hot, too cold or during holidays when we can only ship via express.
I sent him our attorneys number after the last email and never heard from him again. Mr. Whitt also never mentions a second dragon. He states in the post that he asked us to replace two.
Read the email for yourselves. I am sure I will get my A$$ kicked if I am wrong on this one.
Thank you.

what the hell do you mean that they will ship the 7th the should have shipped the 31 per your email receipt. they were ordered on the 26. so the b.s. that you are trying to tell me is that you are going to ship 13 ####ing days after I ordered which was only supposed to be 5 days after I had ordered the crix. so basically you all are liars and that was not what was told in the first e-mail I got from you if I had known it was going to be more than that I would have ordered them from someone more professional and from know on I will. because my lizards will be dead by the time those crix get hear. what am I supposed to do with 13 dead breeders that are valued around $10,000 how am I supposed to have a good weekend

----- Original Message -----
hi my male orange sandfire x snow died today from a week without food.he cost me $ 525 when he was 6 in long he was 15 in when he past away.he was a year and a half old ( breeding age and my most valued breeder). if he was still alive, on a 5 year plan he would be worth $203,025. how I came up with this figure was him breeding to 3 females laying and hatching 30 babies a clutch ( that is my average of successful hatches). so 3 x 30 = 90 eggs, and they have 9 clutches a year 90 x 9 = 810 x 5 years = 4,050 eggs x$50 per baby = $ 202,500 + 525 for 1 dead beardy =203,025. the order was placed on Thursday, December 27, 2001 11:59 AM (that was the last day they where fed )and after I ordered the crix, the order page said that they would be shipped the following Monday the 31 and all shipping ran the 31st and I e-mailed you wondering where they were at on the 3rd and called you on the 2nd and your answering system said that you where open and still shipping on the 31st and 2nd. all that I am asking for is that you replace the bearded male with a adult male that is a brite orange, yellow, or red, I would even be willing to try and find one on the kingsnake classified for you to get I do not think that is asking to much because those 4,050 babies and my 12 other breeders and there babies will have to eat crix from somewhere and I know other breeders as well and my customers that own the pet stores that I sell to.
                                   thanks,

Dear Mr. Whitt,
We offer guaranteed live delivery. It is the responsibility of our customers to provide for their pets. We clearly stated the holiday shipping schedule on our site, which is still posted. The message you are referring to is from our voice mail message that states that we our office will be open on this date. We are not responsible for the death of pets that are neglected by our customers. You should have made provisions to feed your pets over the holidays in the same way that the pet shops and breeders who routinely order from us do. Please take your scam elsewhere. We retain attorneys for such matters. We will be more than happy to reship a doa order, or make special provisions when requested, but that is the extent of our responsibility. Trust us, we have dealt with such people in the past. Have a great new year.

Hi I took the exerts off of your own website. I am glad that you have a lawyer does that mean you are going to sue me that is funny it is also funny that you have had this problem before. as for lawyers I have one to he is a jag officer, and I talked to him today he said that if I wanted to I could sue you for the hole 203,025 and win. because the gov. does not like to see unpatriotic companies screw over there solders. not only that he said he could talk to the better business group, the business license office, and the I.r.s to see if there was any other shady business going on and to cheek your books. he has also read your nasty e-mail and ask if I wanted to begin the process and I told him not yet because I did not want to see your business going under and I feel that we can work this out. and by the way I did make provisions to feed my pets over the holidays. (but my supplier screwed up and I wonder who that was) so think it over I do want to settle this peacefully because I do not think one dead beardy is worth loosing so much do you. I would like to say if ask that you stand by your word

I love my customers and my business, but I also have to protect it. If I have done wrong I always try to make it right. I also usually ask that the people that I make it right with not to post it here. I do that because after someone comes on here and states that I gave them free crickets, or worms, I get a few people that pop-up and try to scam us. I even get people who have never placed an order trying to get free stuff. I also want to make it right, but not because it has been posted on the BOI. I make it right because it is the right thing to do. Put yourselves in my shoes for a minute. We take care of hundred of customers every week, and some weeks, thousands. Monthly we get someone with some scam trying to get insects for free, do charge backs for orders they received in good faith, or just rip us off.
I work in law enforcement as a full-time job. The wormfarm is a full-time business and my family runs it with me, and the help of employees. We just built a new superworm building that is humming along. I see scams everyday and know them when I see them. That is why I love this board. I appreciate the feedback when it is needed, and use it to correct issues.
I am still looking for a new Customer Service Red if anyone is in NJ and interested.
Thank you

Ok, if there is a problem with the business and their practices it is one thing. But, no one is reponsible for your animals not being fed except for you. You can't blame Ken because you were not responsible enough to make other arrangements to feed your animals. If I didn't receive the order when I was expecting it, I would have made the trip to my local pet store and picked up enough for a day or two to make sure. If those animals are going to make that much money for you, I think it would've been worth the extra money for the crickets. There is no reason to not feed your animals for a week or more.

WOW. Smart enough to figure out how much money your going to make 5 years out but not smart enough to figure out you gots to feed the dragons

I am 110% for making a buck (red blooded american and all) but not feeding your dragons for a week is pathetic. I've seen your ads on Kingsnake and been thinking about purchasing from you but will not do so now since you do not raise your animals with even the smallest concern for their health. That is a disgrace to this industry. Plain DISGUSTING!

I do not even know where to start!
This Stanley Twitt guy takes the cake! To wait to feed your animals because you are waiting for an order, is well humm DUMB!! You should have taken a few more trips to Petco for crickets. That is in my book animal cruelty. If you would have checked out wormans rep on here first you might have found that he isn't the swiftest and likes to put things off, sound like anyone you know?
One more thing isn't a JAG officer only deal within the armed forces? Anyway, besides the point you have made your own rep on here by stating the kind of care you keep your animals in. Also, you have taken this thread into a whole new direction, and off the worman, he should thank you and give you free crickets for life, well if you had animals left to feed.

Petco Crickets too expensive to save your animals??
Veggies maybe???...If your in a bind you need to do whatever you can for those animals...No excuses!

THERE IS NO REASON THESE ANIMALS SHOULD HAVE DIED!

You do not deserve the right to own Reptiles or any animal for that matter. The e-mail from Worman was clear and if you didnt want to wait then you should have found another source. The fact the animals died is all on YOU!

Pathetic

Devon Smith

Note to self:

Don't ever! ever! ever! buy anything from Whitt's Reptiles.

Imagine, you let two animals die because your order didn't come in. How stupid can you be. And then on top of it you are stuid enough to come on here and show the world just how stupid you are!

Have you no regard for the animals in your care?

Certain individuals never cease to amaze me.

Please tell me you have no children, and if you do I hope the supermarket you shop at never runs out of their food. I dare to think what would happen to them.

Wormaman owes you nothing for the loss of your animals. You owe your stupidity to the loss of your animals.

I have copied and pasted what you have posted here and I will make sure to never forget your business name or what you did.

Sorry, forgot to mention,

Wormman and I had some problems in the past but, He did take steps to correct those problems.
