    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Randall, the amount of refund is listed in this thread. It was also discussed between the buyer and seller prior to the refund happening. I have tons of respect for you but, I would just suggest to you to read the last few pages thoroughly if you truly need to know.

Well, this reminds me of reading a book...... finally getting to the last chapter only to find that the last pages are missing.

Will the necropsy results be posted? Was this snake a female? If proven to have had a prior existing condition was an apology offered by the seller to the buyer? The seller really did come down hard publicly on the buyer insisting that it must have been something the buyer did wrong to cause the death.

As an interested observer I am left with the feeling that the seller may very well have misrepresented this snake. If so I do not believe it was intentional. If it was mis-sexed though credibility issues come into play. I believe that a 100% refund would be appropriate including shipping IF the results of the necropsy showed the buyer to not have been at fault and add in the necropsy costs if it was indeed a female. I would not want to be the next person in line to purchase a snake from seller and find out I had to barter with the seller to get some sort of resolution if things went wrong.

Exactly, the fact that this was brought public, and yes a resolution has been found. Some final closing details would be nice for those that attempted to help find a resolution or to at least help us understand better as to how this agreement was decided upon. Because yes, a lot of things mentioned in this thread can have a possible bearing on anyone who may or may not chose to do business with any of those involved.
 
I really hate to be the wet blanket in this "happy ending customer has been refunded" thread. And all though the amount of refund is none of my business, there is the vet report still pending, and I would really like to know what caused the death of this proven male...whoops female boa?

There seems to be more layers to this situation. Yaz bought a supposed male boa, kept it for 2 years, sold it and it's now a female? I would like to think he's contacted the person that sold it to him?
 
I will simply state, that boa I sold to David WAS A MALE. I am 110% certain. I bought that boa WITH a female boa 2 years ago. They have both been in my care since then. The person I bought them from said they copulated many times in the past and the female (which I have) had several clutches of babies. The original owner had both since they were little and now are both around 9-10 years old.

As for me, for the 2 years I have had them, I put the MALE with the female and SHE IS GRAVID NOW. I NEVER put another male boa with that female I have. So unless she impregnated herself and the MALE I sold was probed several times wrong BY A COUPLE DIFFERENT PEOPLE in front of me, then thats THE ONLY WAY THAT SNAKE I SOLD COULD BE A FEMALE.

I am A LOT more confused than any of you are. I am clueless how that boa died in the first place considering HE was healthy (or appeared perfectly healthy and fine) for 2 years, let alone now that the preliminary report states "possibly female". It however, doesnt state that HE was a female, so we'll have to see what the final report actually says. But I am positive that was a male.

If you want to test my credibility on sexing and describing my snakes on my ads, FEEL FREE to contact all my buyers in the past and ask to resex their snakes and see if I stated the wrong sex in my ads as well if the snake was said to be healthy and now isnt. I HAVE NEVER HAD ANY OF THIS HAPPEN.

Why would I list it as a male and it was a female? That wouldnt make ANY sense. MANY people list FEMALES and then the snake ends up being a MALE. Not the other way around. Look at it this way, if I knew that was a female I would have asked MORE money for it than I did.

The whole point is that my snake was a male and I am positive. I dont understand how this will make ANY sense if that final report says female.
 
Yaz, I'm not doubting that you believe that your female is gravid, unfortunately boas will ovulate and either throw slugs or reabsorb their infertile ova. It's happened to me before and it's really not that uncommon.

An inexperienced prober can injure a female and have it appear to probe male.
 
Guys, you can discuss this all you want, but why not wait till the full report is out?

It happened to me before too. I had a virgin 9 year old female ovulate and then reabsorb everything.

Yaz, did you ever check the sex of the boas? Is it possible the person you got them from either mixed up snakes at sometime or lied to you?

Really though the sex of the snake is secondary to everything. I'm guessing that the buyer wasn't as concerned with the sex as he wanted an animal to use for talks, etc.

I'm glad to see you 2 came to an agreeable end to this.
 
I did check the sex of the boas when I got them. One probed male (the one I sold) and the other female (which I have here).

I suppose it is possible that she will throw slugs if that wasnt a male and this happened all by herself but they copulated with their tails together etc. I know what the looks like lmao :rofl: Perhaps their lesbians? Haha.

My female has been getting bigger and bigger and this is one EXTREMELY long ovulation if thats the case. She has been like this and getting bigger for along time and will be dropping sometime shortly. I will just have to wait and see I guess.

Im a bit confused... first you state you wouldnt get the necropsy done and you would refund partial payment.... and Now your DEMANDING a copy of the report and wont refund till you get it?

Now back to reading....maybe I will find an answer to my question.

I had 2 females together in '02 (one was on loan and was *supposed* to be a male), the "male" courted my big female for about 5 weeks, tail wraps and everything... luckily she never ovulated or I woulda got a bunch of slugs. So, just saying, it does happen. my lil $0.02.

I'd really like to see the final report just as an FYI even though this 'deal is done'.

Which wanted to say that considering it was delivered GARAGE and he never called me like I REQUIRE which he agreed to (I had to call him, and talked to him almost an hour after the boa arrived). This deal wasnt done like I require so in all honesty I shouldnt pay for anything.

That snake could have been sitting there forever. Dont want to make assumptions but what if he said he got the boa and everything was fine but truly never was at his house until later sometime in the day. So that boa was sitting there all day in the garage (assuming the door was ajarred a little) or outside the garage. UPS stated that if the package was HANDED to someone like he said, that it would have been "Handed to man" "Handed to person".

This is very sketchy. Again heres the time frame:

TUESDAY
9:15AM: Boa delivered GARAGE
9:52AM: I called him, no answer so I left a voicemail
9:54AM: I called him, he picked up and said the boa was perfect and healthy

Didnt hear from him the rest of the day.

WEDNESDAY
Never heard from him

THURSDAY
3:56 PM: He called, and said the boa had mucus and he made a vet appointment for Fri.

Didnt hear from him the rest of the day.

FRIDAY
11:56 AM: He called saying the boa was dead

So from Thursday 3:56 PM - Friday 11:56 AM the boa died and looked as if his eyes were sucked out of him? There is NO way that he died that instantly and looked like how he did from pneumonia. MAYBE he had some type of pneumonia but he DID NOT die from it. I think the cage overheated massively for some reason and it killed him overnight. The pictures of the boa with the mucus from his mouth were taken Thursday based upon thats when David called me and told me about that, and then the pictures of him dead was taken Friday based on when David called me. So how he looked like in the mucus pics to the dead pics within less than a day, makes no sense at all.

Yaz.... I know my UPS driver personally.... I have his cell number and he has brought his kids to my place to see the animals. There have been times when I have met him on my porch and he handed me the package... he then puts "porch" on the delivery. So they dont ALWAYS put "handed to man" ... "handed to person" on their end.

I can tell you this much though... next time he brings me a package... I will be talking to him about making sure he puts... "handed to XX" so I dont have to go thru this.

There was a case last year semi-locally (Bakersfield) where a driver gave a package to a man of middle eastern decent. I don't recall if the driver was from UPS or fedex, although it is googleable. When the package was handed to the man, the driver logged it as "terrorist", so they aren't always accurate.

I have finally got caught up in this thread.... talk about twists and turns.

I myself would like to see the final report on this.

I do have a question though. If my memory serves me correctly... the prelim report stated mucus in a couple locations in the animal and then the possiblesex change.... why was it a partial refund? Why not the full amount? Its obvious the OP didnt get what he paid for.
