In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Bad Guy East_Coast aka Peter Jolles

There is no het for mack. Maybe he was a mack het eclipse? I can't remember who the parents were, so I'm not sure if that was possible. Did his babies hatch out black and white? What was he bred to?

I should have said to pm or e-mail me if you have any questions. I don't want to get off topic here.

I don't know what I'm talking about???
Trust me BUDDY you don't want to

get me %$^%*&^I&^*^&
I probably know more about geckos than YOU do. I'm not even going to grace you with knowing how many geckos I have bought in my lifetime. I know that they are stressed upon arrival and OFTEN have problems moving for a while after they're put into their new cages!

Kristi, I am not knowledgeable about morphs so thanks for the info.
FYI - the box that the below gecko came out of has a male you sold me as a "het eclipse" and a Mack Snow female (Cruella was your name for her) among other females.
Pud has this gecko now.

Wow, this thread seems a bit premature. I honestly can't see anything wrong with the geckos in those tiny pictures, and I looked hard. But then again, I am not a gecko expert; I mostly keep snakes. I do, however, think that the seller was being more than accommodating to the OP, but the OP was just angry and wanted to attack.

Jeff, I can understand being angry and upset when new animals arrive and they are not exactly as you expected. However, you can get a LOT more flies with honey than with vinegar, as the old saying goes. I'm not trying to bash you; I'm not taking sides here at all, as I am not a gecko expert. However, I do think this could have been handled far less painfully for you both.

Case in point- I once bought a beautiful pair of Savu pythons at a reptile show and got the seller's information. The day after I brought them home, I noticed that the female seemed a bit wheezy. I contacted the seller and calmly asked if she'd ever had issues while in his care. We discussed how he had been keeping them, the sizes of their rack bins, temps and humidity in his house, etc as well as my quarantine room conditions, and he said if I needed to get her vet care he would refund me. I told him that I would keep an eye on her for a few days and let him know if anything changed or if I had to take her to a vet. I bumped her temps up a few degrees, and sat tight. She clouded up for shed, shed out 5 days later and was perfect. My thoughts are that the dry skin from the upcoming shed blocked her nostrils a bit. The seller was polite and helpful; I was polite to the seller despite my concerns, and it worked out in the end. The animal turned out fine and I ended up cultivating a friendship with this breeder. I could very easily have called him and screamed "YOU SOLD ME A SICK SNAKE. YOU DON"T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING!!" Had I done that, I am sure I would have been told to take a hike.

In the future Jeff, I hope that you can learn to be patient and bear with a seller. All Peter wanted was proof of your claim to assure himself that you weren't going to screw him over, while you felt HE had screwed YOU over. Politeness on your part could have gone a long long way towards getting you a result you were happy with.

And Peter, I understand your frustration with Jeff's poor grammar. Bad grammar and misspellings are a pet peeve of mine as well. However, not everyone has gone to great schools, and some people are just not able to catch on to grammar. I am working on a Ph.D, and I know people in my program who are absolutely brilliant at their work, but need anything they write edited and checked by at least two other people. I think that your attacking Jeff's grammar was a bit low. He's not nearly as bad as some I've seen on here.

Anyway, that's just my $0.02.

Those animals look very good and they are far from "on deaths door" or deformed. I am not sure what you want out or Peter or what you want him to do? I see nothing wrong with those animals and see no reason for a refund. Maybe it's buyers remorse? Not sure but I can happily say that Peter sold me a blood python some years ago and over all when I was at his house all of his animals at that time were extremely well taken care of. I would not hesitate to buy from him again. I think this thread was a bit prematurely written.

You will come to find that the reptile community is smaller than you think, and word of a buyer who throws around apparently false (since you can't provide proof) accusations gets around quickly.

very interesting thread and not needed, may I add.

although, i cant for the life of me, understand what the op is ever typing.

i dont think he should just post the conversation he had with Ray, Ray should come here and state what he "said" on here himself

But again I am guessing this was over the phone. These people are only hearing what you are describing. I can say hi buddy this gecko has a bump on it's head. That person could say oh it's an infection. But that may or may not be the actual problem. They didn't see the symptoms you were describing. Therefore they were only making educated guesses based off of information you described. You could have been providing correct information but also you could have not been. it really means nothing to me to hear that this is what these people said. In the end they didn't see the problems or lack of for themselves and you don't have a DVM giving you an actual diagnosis. Again I'm sure they know what they're doing but the fact that they didn't see anything, and something like this cannot be diagnosed over the phone.
On top of that the pictures don't show anything proving that the animals have issues.

Just some more .02

Morgan is spot on. If you talk to someone on the phone or by email, and say they have trouble moving around and their legs look funny, they'll say "sounds like MBD". That's not proof of jack diddly. It just means that YOUR description sounds like MBD, and certainly doesn't mean that the breeders you're talking to think the geckos in question have it.

Until you post better pictures or a video, it certainly looks like you're incorrect here. And I don't think I'm alone in saying that I'd avoid a buyer who starts a thread like this and then handles themselves like you have thus far. Keep in mind, a BOI thread can work both ways...

He could have said anything to the "breeders" he talked to. The people he spoke with could have been saying, "Sure, Pud... you're right Pud... The geckos are very, very bad and have MBD. Listen Pud, I have to go. So You Think You Can Dance is on..."

I sent you healthy geckos. They were cheap because I am just a hobbyist / enthusiast and looking to do no more than cover say... 1/2 of my reptile related expenses by selling gecko and snake babies.

I would have given you a discount at first because my thinking was that you were an expert (due to the fact that you have a dedicated gecko website) and that though the geckos looked fine to me (ran around fine, ate fine, looked fine) there must have been an issue to make you SO angry.

As we got further into it I realized you are just a hot head and are used to pushing people around (he has a very deep voice as well) and being able to get what you want with brute force (a bully).

Not happening.

And, the geckos you got from me are nice, quality geckos that were well cared for.

This is the same attitude I was talking about. This drama is what you started. You just don't like that no one has agreed with you. If you'd like, I can contact Ray and see what you told him.

You will come to find that the reptile community is smaller than you think, and word of a buyer who throws around apparently false (since you can't provide proof) accusations gets around quickly.

This is very true. You're hurting yourself more than you know.

This post is perfect. Telling someone what you think you see and them actually seeing the animal is completely different.

Pud has this gecko now.

I hope he finds a good home for it quickly. The mack from that baby came from Cruella being a mack. :) It's a beautiful snow.
