• Responding to email notices you receive.

In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I can assure you this much. Any customer who ever purchases from me, in the instant they pay for the item, they get a tracking number, and get the time frame in which the item will be dropped off at the post office.
That's good practice especially for an online merchant.QUOTE]

This is a rather stupid comment. I have yet to see someone who is able to provide a tracking number for a package before it's ever dropped off at the post office for delivery, The INSTANT it is paid for. Maybe I'm wrong but I have NEVER seen that happen. I've always gotten tracking numbers AFTER they've been dropped off.

I should have not of blown up your facebook. I admit that.
We both share responsibility in this case. You were to busy to do your job(sending tracking info). How was i supposed to know you even shipped it? A guess? As far as being a child, no I am not. Did it take me a day to pay you? No you got it immediately.I wasn't to busy to hold up my end of the arrangement. If I was the seller, I would have made time to make sure my customer was happy and got the info they needed to be secure in paying for an item in the manner in which we did.

I have said repeatedly, I will be more than happy to say I received them and that you did your job as a seller and do whatever i needed to do to make sure people who read this know that you came thru.

How can I reasonably expect to be present to receive a package if i don't even know its shipped?

I am sorry you are upset and it caused you problems but the fact still remains you did not let me know it was shipped. HAd you of yesterday or the day before provided a tracking number, I would have been just fine and we would not be in this thread now.

I hold myself to the very same standard. If you buy from me, you get the tracking info in your email very fast. If its not automatic, I make time to reach the customer by any means necessary to be sure they are confident in their purchase and the dealing they have with me.

I expect no less from another salesman.

You dont believe it? As soon as a payment is made paypal offers you the chance to print the label right then and there. You don't have to go to the post office at all. Its all electronic. All you have to do is tape the label to the box and drop it at the post office. At the very instance the shipping label is created, the buyer gets the email with the tracking number.

The same way for every seller who uses paypal. I m not making outlandish remarks or claims. Thats the simple truth.

That's my problem then. I don't have a paypal account or any way to get one. I wouldn't use one even if I could get one because I think their customer service sucks from everything I have EVER heard.

I have used paypal for years and have never printed out a label with them. Not every seller does it that way.

I don't have any issues, I am a verified premier seller and get impeccable service from Paypal.Electronic shipping has been out for years. No seller should ever have to stand in line at a post office to ship an item.

They give you the boxes, you print the label on your home pc and drop it off. Takes 4 seconds to print the label and they email any buyers to let them know all the information about their packages shipment.

With my site I am hooked directly into paypals API and the USPS API's, so the referenced actions happen immediately.

I did not claim they did. But giving a buyer a tracking number for a purchased item is pretty standard especially when its perishable. When you make an online purchase do you not want a tracking number?

I'm not saying you can't do it, just that everyone doesn't. I live in a small town and still use the post office.

I do, but I don't always get one from people. I don't come on here complaining a day later. If I need one that bad, I'll send them a quick message. I use tracking numbers on ebay, but I don't always enter them until the day after the items ships. You're making it into way too big of a deal and you're trying to sound like you're the perfect seller/shipper. You're just going to keep losing customers that way.

When you go to the post office, don't they give you a tracking number? If you were selling a perishable item, wouldn't you consider sending a yell to a buyer to at least let them know the item is shipped?

If you bought an item, would you not like to know when its shipped? So you can make sure you are there to get it?

I don't see how in the world this is not a standard practice for any seller, or how a buyer would accept anything less than shipping information on their purchased item.Fauna must be the only online marketplace where this is not standard practice. If you buy on Ebay, you get a tracking number, if you buy on Amazon, you get a tracking number. If you buy on Fauna, you get badgered because you hold a merchant to reasonable standard.

Plus not to mention, That if a buyer was to dispute a payment a seller received, and the seller added no tracking information, paypal will not back you in any way when it comes to the dispute. Its as they call it seller protection.

We are all discussing here in the barest essentials business practices. What a seller should reasonably do to take care of the buyer.

No one here is telling you that you shouldn't get a tracking number. You were impatient and made a bad guy thread because you didn't get one right away.

I beg to differ. If a prospective client were to read any of this post, they see.

1. The get instant confirmation of their purchase.
2.We are here to communicate with them regarding their order before, during and after the sale.
3. They will be provided with the tracking number for their purchase very quickly after the purchases made.
4. They will know when the item hits the post office, and can track it all the way to their house.
5. That they will receive a level of service from us that they can't expect from other sellers.
6. That the price I have does not change whether on this forum, Ebay, our website. No gouging like i find to be customary here on Fauna.
7. You message us, no matter if we are on the road, chilling at a beach, having a contest or whatever. You can reach us. You can get information regarding your purchases or future purchases. We provide our email address, our phone number and our real name.

A seller cant get any more responsive to the needs of a buyer than we are. And we do this for every customer.

Don't believe, try it and see.

Between the two posts, they will see that you think you're always right no matter what. You argue and are impatient. How you treat the sellers after a sale, especially when things go wrong, will prove if you're someone to trust or not. And as I said before, the usps website is horrible about updating their delivery info. About 50% of the time I've checked, it has been days behind. The conformation number is good to have, but you can't count on the info being updated daily like it says it does.

With this thread, you are proving to be a difficult buyer who tried to ruin someone's name over not getting a tracking number within 12-24 hours of shipping. I wouldn't want to deal with you. I am not new to buying or selling. Besides reptiles and ebay, I was in retail management for years. You will find nothing but positive reviews from me online.

BTW~I'm done trying to get you to see both sides. Maybe someone else will get thru to you. But negative posts here are very serious and can cause a lot of loss when people don't read the thread and just read the title.

Since we already have 6 pages of blah blah blah, yada yada yada and a premature Bad Guy postulation (on an order 2 days old), how about the shipper just posts the tracking number?

Easy enough, right?

I can see both sides. If the seller god forbid had a true emergency or some kind of reason other than I got caught up in some contest, to busy to email you a confirmation is a whole different subject.

If you walked into lets say IHOP and your waitress gave poor service, are you leaving a nice tip? I think not.

I am not arguing by any means. I am capable of having a debate without frustration or anger involved even when I got no less than 4 women trying to rip me apart. And for the record, I did say I was wrong for blowing up to much to fast, and I will say it again. I was wrong for blowing up to much to fast and blowing the seller up. But I will not apologize for saying that the seller should have taken four seconds out of the whatever contest the were involved in and emailed letting us know at least the item shipped and/or here is the tracking number. It was not very hard to reply very quickly with a paypal address or assurances about the purchase.

Hell if it is that hard to send a reply to a message to someone who just sent you 80.00 I will build the seller an auto response system FREE that does it for her.Ill do it pro bono.

The point is we both share responsibility for the transaction. I should have been more patient, and she should have been more forthcoming in her effort to keep a customer. A customer I might add who had already promised to make the same purchase weekly, at their asking price for as long as she could hold out.

I highly doubt their is a prospective customer out there who does not EXPECT a tracking number for their online purchase nor do I doubt that they expect it to be given in a timely manner.

That is the personal side of the matter. This last bit is the business side of my thoughts. This is to every prospective customer who looks here, or ever comes across this message.

If I don't give you enough attention, before during and after the sale. If I do not provide you with accurate information as quick as conceivably possible, if i don't treat you as though you and your questions, comments, concerns, purchase is not the most important thing in the world. I invite you to explode my email, facebook, and our direct telephone number until you get exactly the attention you require.

Ive had it for a while. We are discussing something different now. You condemn me for not saying im wrong, yet you cant tell me that my points are valid. It happens to you dont like to be wrong anymore than I am, and its also evident that you wuold rather point the finger out, than back at you.

I can honestly say I am totally willing to do that, are?

I don't even HAVE a printer( I just use my lap top). So it would be pretty difficult for me to do this... We never discussed the fact I was expected to send a tracking number the moment you sent payment. I did say I would send you a pm with the info and I got caught up with my evening yesterday. If you had sent a message last night, I would have sent the info right away but you NEVER did until this morning. Obviously, you were not too worried about it yesterday. What are you arguing anyways? You slammed me, ruined most of my day and still are carrying on like I actually did something wrong, I apologized for not sending the tracking info INSTANTLY. What more do you want?? I am pretty certain me forgetting your tracking info, which you have had since I came online today, doesn't compare the the embarrassment you have caused me. My personal facebook with my family and friends is now posted for the world to see. I had both private PM's and text message to my cell from people wondering what was going on. Was my dragon page, and both my husband and I's email not enough?? I have every right to be very upset right now. You are not professional like you keep insisting. You are very much a nightmare.

Melissa

You have come out fine in this thread imho. I feel bad for all the trauma this nightmare dude has caused you, you don't deserve it and he's not worth it.

The only silver lining I can see here, is that no one reading through this thread will ever want to deal with him again.

For what it is worth Melissa, I'd buy from you. I'm sorry this happened to you :(
