This place is bad and know one wants to stop them this has been going on for years!
David a group of us that live in the Tucson area would like to come by your rescue facility and see the conditions for ourselves. Can you please return our emails and phone calls? We are truly concerned about the welfare of these animals and we can help find them proper homes and I will donate rats to help feed them if you're overwhelmed. May we take pictures of your animals and enclosures if she isn't telling the truth? I let her take pictures of my animals when she visited my home. Can you prove that anything the OP is saying isn't true?
hi my name is david I run d&m,s reptile rescue, the day this person came out to volunteer her time to help clean and feed the reptiles, was a day when we clean all the cages on saturdays. we do not pay anyone to help us clean and feed.I do all this rescue work out of my own pocket, no grant money or large donations given too us.yes the torts cage was dirty it was cleaning day what do you expect when they walk all over there food If people have aproblem with us please let us know about it so it can be fixed. we have been doing this for 12 years here in the tucson, marana area this is the second time the person went to the authorities instead of us first so the problem could be fixedIf you want to talk to me call me at 520-256-7747

I am curious to see how this turns out. Obviously the "rescue" can clean things up before people come to look around on Saturday, but it wont be as easy to hide the signs of neglect on the animals themselves. I am also curious to see if proof of veterinary care is provided.
I would very much like to find out that this has just been some sort of misunderstanding or something and that these animals are truly cared for, but at the moment it does not look good. I second the question of, "why is this the SECOND time someone has gone to the authorities with claims of neglect?".
Just like children's services giving a heads up call, the house is always clean when they get there.
I honestly think that establishments that take in animals should be subjected to random "flash inspections" without warning.
wow, I just read all the crap those guys at the other forum were giving you, and I am so sorry. As heartbreaking at it was to leave the animals there, I understand you not being able to physically and mentally handle it. I can't say I would have been able to stay either.
Anyways, back on topic. It is good to know that those animals may finally be seeing some help, but really... $700 adoption fees? For what? The vet care he didn't give them? The garbage he fed them? The proper husbandry that he DIDN'T provide?
I believe people have requested copies of vet bills for treatment of these rescues, why have they not been posted?
I'm with everyone else, they can spiff up the place for an inspection, but nothing is as damning as a long period of time involving the care of rescued, undernourished and otherwise compromised critters, and no vet records to show for it.
I posted on Tort forum too, alerting Tort people to this thread ( hopefully they dont take it down) I just want to see those torts get the right care and able to graze naturally on REAL food!
