In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Inquiry BallBids.com?

Has anyone been able to verify that the man in the picture on both the website and for his user account here on Fauna is indeed one Avshalom Cohen? Any searches on his name yield results on a business man in Florida who most certaintly does not look like this guy.

I have to wonder just how common that name is in Florida. He also has no Facebook, which is a little odd considering he is involved with the Facebook for BallBids.com.

I also looked up the address linked to the website registration.

According to this website (and a few others), this address was last sold in 2000 and has been off market since. Yet, Avi claims to have recently moved to Louisville from Coral Springs.

It also has another LLC. registered to it:

Putting the address into MapQuest correlates with the house being located just off Coral Hills Driver.

Just a few things I am finding a bit suspect ... on top of everything else.

I actually asked a friend of mine who still lives in coral springs if he knew him. If this guy is actually Avshalom Cohen, he went to Marjory Stoneman Douglass highschool in parkland FLA and also and graduated between 2001 and 2004. I am seeing what I can find out about them.

I want to say I have absolutely nothing to do with this. However, per ky state animal laws

§ 91.096 OFFERING ANIMAL AS PRIZE OR AWARD.

(A) No person shall offer any live animal as a prize or award in connection with any raffle, protest, demonstration, promotion, or as an incentive to participate in any game, promotion, or otherwise.

Many businesses in this industry operate in the dark. Many do not pay taxes, and I believe, even less are aware of their own state animal ordinances. I am sure we all support many business that operate in that way too. So with that said, I do not condemn ballbids for the raffle, I actually like the idea of their website. I wished Avi good luck, and I hope this all works out for the best, for everyone.

The only thing I have against this, other than the possibility that people are being scammed by them, is how the extremists will see it... I don't want to give anyone a reason to come down on us herpers for a couple more idiots. I love my pets dearly-- I'm NOT a breeder by any means... so, the prospect of PETA/USHS being given fuel for their fires against us? Not pleased with that.

I don't think you should say "businesses".
Perhaps the words "some people." But those who take the time to do it right actually know what they are doing.

There is also an Avshalom Cohen involved with All Around Pet Care, Inc. with a Jamie Cohen. It appears to me they are related. Either as brothers or fathers, but the primary reason I brought it up is I am wondering if the Avshalom Cohen involved with BallBids.com is not actually that individual and just someone using his name.

That address also appears to be linked to a truck company but I cannot find the information on the actual website. It just shows up in the first few sentences of the web page search results.

The only Avshalom Cohen I could find is a 47 year old. Clearly, the guy in the photo on FaunaClassifieds and BallBids.com is not 47.

So....let me see if I am following this right.

Avi is the one that "filed" for this LLC, but it and his address are registered in FL; however, the company is run in Kentucky. With everything being addressed in FL, they both think they can "get one over" on Kentucky's laws?

Been following the thread for the past couple days...there're too many red flags for me to think these two can safely run this type of business, and this idea, with peta and hsus breathing over our shoulder, is imo wrong time, wrong place. Could a responsible herper run this type of penny auction deal safely and successfully? Probably, but again, not the time for it.

Nice, Ritchie.

Thanks.

It is what it is. Although I think they are crashing the market, I still have to be fair and put up what I find. Such is my lot in life.

Guys,
don't worry about HSUS and PETA shutting them down. HSUS and PETA are probably chearing them on because of the potentionl market crash. Is there going to be the same amount of interest in these animals if the projected income from them is not as great? Probably not. I am not saying we only do this for the money. It is what it is. I am just saying, if they are not worth a lot. Will people be really intested?

If Ferrarris were $500 a piece. and everyone drove one. People will be looking for the next big thing.
