    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

If I say something bad about someones table at the show, its got to be bad. If I see someone walking around with a half dead tegu at a show in a cup, and I am going to grab them and tell them to bring it right back to where they got it, and you know what if they want I will walk with them. I AM ALL ABOUT attracting and keeping new hobbyists in our industry. So believe me---if I am walking down a show and I see something that is ridiculously poor---like worthy of being euthanized---not only I am going to say something---I will say something right to the person who has the table. It is unacceptable to bring animals like that to shows and it happens all too regularly. Are you seriously going to defend a vendor that would sell a argentine red tegu that was just about dead to a KID who is 12 years old with his mom as a first reptile? People like that should not be allowed to sell reptiles. It is bad for our entire industry, so yeah--Im calling that crap out when I see it. How about when you walk up to a table at a show and you see mites crawling all over some ratsnakes. THAT personally upsets me---it is careless and dangerous to the other vendors and customers.

I agree with you on this Ben. I have see this occur. It is upsetting and horrible that someone would peddle sick/injured animals to the naive.
 
I do not think I am bashing him. Read my posts. I said he has good animals, He is not out to rip people off. I even agreed that he was right and the OP was wrong. How is that a bash. In my book thats a compliment

In anycase, time to move on for me. I know everyone on here loves Ben and when I say I do not like his personality its like me insulting a member of your family. Its a no win.. Good luck to everyone and contribute to PIJAC if you can.
 
I am one of those people who have been dealing with Ben since he was "small time" Even when I went into his store with no money just to hang out and pester him about things I was obviously never going to buy . He and his staff have ALWAYS been professional and cool to deal with.

Theres always going to be someone out there that just rubs you wrong . Maybe Ben rubbed you wrong and I understand that. But if you look at the overall numbers of supporters he has maybe you should step back and think that maybe your vision of things is a little skewed.Choose to not do business with him ,fine but dont come into a thread like this and try to convince everyone he's an asshole. I seriously doubt you will get far with that one.

P.S. still havnt seen any mention of the OP sending back a portion of the refund . Thats like keeping illgot money and if she dosent want to appear like she completely scammed Ben from the start she will send some of it back.

Heh... if she had an ounce of moral fiber, she'd send it ALL back. Where are you going to get a blood for 80.00 anyway? Oh right... she said thanks I'm going to pay bills with it. 80.00 pays billS? Which one? Gas in the summer maybe? Ok I'll shut up now. Totally disgusting situation. :censored:
 
Ok well it appears that NO ONE could have POSSIBLY had a negative experience in dealing with this guy EVER? Who is anyone here to tell ANYone that they are WRONG about a personal experience they had? Seriously? Loyalty is one thing, but come one now. Let's get real here folks. If this guy does business with as many people as it's been said, I'm sure it's very possible that there have been some negative dealings from time to time, as with any business. The gentleman posted above his experience, and because it was not peaches and cream, a hand full of people actually jump on him and tell him he is WRONG? Basically calling him a liar when they were not there to witness the situation? Really? I think people are getting far too carried away here. Is this a cult following for pete's sake? LOL! Just as people have a right to voice positive opinions here, others have a right to post the negative! Geez folks. Like I said, loyalty is nice, but to go to such an extreme to basically be in denial that there have been ANY unsatisfactory dealings with this man and his many many customers is just delusional.

Posting a negative experience is fine . But dont come into a thread trashing someones moral fiber when thousands of people can vouch for his good guy status.
I am sure Ben has has bad deals ,they cant all be perfect. The issue here is how they are handled and if you bother to read they are handled ... period !
To call him out because he said something negative about another seller ? Show me one person in this world that doesnt talk about someone else from time to time ?

We are a business and of course we have had our share of unhappy customers. I think our happy rate is extremely high. Her posting what shed did and how she did was inappropriate. I am glad you are her loyal friend, but many people may say the same thing about you on this thread--why are you obviously defending something that was wrong. I mean COME ON ALREADY?? Isnt it possible that maybe we are a good and decent company run by nice and friendly people that like to go above and beyond for their customers?? ISNT THAT a possibility Krystale as well? Listen--we do alot of good for our customers and our herpetological community as a whole. Its not a cult ---we take good care of our customers and just like you seem to be defending candace---they feel like they want to defend me. Looking at this whole thing from an unbiased view you seem to have some agenda or you are a close friends with the op which is FINE, but why do you have to rag on people who are coming to our defense. Even the guy who thinks I am an a-hole had the courtesy to at least say yes--he is good--he will not rip you off and I know his animals are good, hes just an ahole. Man-your on here accusing us of selling hundreds of subpar animals and that people should buy from these big name breeders yada yada yada-
 
Im out on this one guys-thanks for all the comments good and bad----good to clear the air sometimes-_CANDACE--keep the money-all of it. I hope next time you have an issue with a vendor you at least give them a chance to make it right(longer then 3 hours) before you decide to flip out. We are very busy a good portion of the day. Did you really ever have any doubt that we would make it right one way or another? Take care all!! Come visit us robert! Your in miami--if you have not seen the new store come check it out.
 
I was going to stay quiet. But gosh darn.
I always look at both sides of a story, but in this case, after reviewing the facts thoroughly, this customer has done nothing wrong, no matter how you look at it.
Your first post in this thread. It came after only ONE side of the story was told. Ben was not here to tell his side. So how can you look at both sides? How can you review ALL the facts?
My opinion here was very un-biased, and was based off of what was laid out before me here in this thread.
What was laid out before you was ONE side of the story. But you claim to look at both sides and claim to be unbiased.
Towards the end of the situation yes, he sent a shipping label and said for her to ship the animal back for a refund. At that point, she opted not to do so, as she chose to just keep the animal, get it healed, and not stress the poor thing any further.

I know you did not exactly say it. But the language you chose makes it sound like this has been going on for days and he only offered a refund in the end. The fact is he offered that refund the SAME DAY. But as you quoted.... SHE CHOSE to keep the animal. She CHOSE NOT to get the refund. She CHOSE NOT to get the auction bucks.

But in the end..... she GOT the animal. She GOT the refund.

The measure of a person is not only if they do or don't make a mistake but also how they fix their mistakes.

$80 would pay my phone/internet bill, or would pay my water bill and leave a little extra. Only thing it wouldn't take care of at all is my propane and electric bills. :thumbsup:

Either way the OP is wrong and Ben is a good guy.
 
If you get a full refund you definitely should send the animal back. How many places are you going to go and ask for a refund and them let you keep the item?

Do the right thing and use the shipping label to ship the snake back. The snake will be fine if you ship it the same way it was shipped to you...

Ben, I commend you on how you handled this situation and if ever I have the opportunity to purchase any animals from you, I would not hesitate to do so.

Apparently people can use the BOI (and FB) to bully people into favorable outcomes for themselves.
 
I think it was wrong for Ben to have been treated this way. The OP still needs to send either the snake or the money back to him. I would say the money needs to go back! at least part of it.

I made the comment about the $80 in response to the message I quoted simply to illustrate that some people have bills they COULD pay with $80.
