Bree, not sure if you checked the link on the first page to the other thread about this or saw the photos.
Those animals were not something which could have been rehabilitated, no matter how much time, money or effort were invested and regardless of the expertise of the individual trying to do so. This is not a situation where something's a bit underweight and just needs some additional care, the animals were dead- beyond the point of return, when they were given to Philip.
Despite his spotty past, Bobby is not a stupid guy, nor is he inexperienced when it comes to animals. He knew full well in advance of even bringing those animals to the show that they were never going to make it. He's not stupid... he's also not honest. If someone is in a position which others would view as being authoritative, it's very easy to use a combination of inaccurate logic and outright lies to make someone accept birtually anything they are told. Especially in a situation such as this, where Bobby had been all rainbows and sunshine and played the gentle mentor prior to their face to face meeting.
As none of the rest of us were there for the exact transaction, we don't know, word for word, what Bobby told Philip about those animals. We do know that Bobby has a history of dishonesty and has misrepresented animals several times in the past. Philip has shown himself to be extremely patient, honest and generally just an upstanding guy.
After being pressured into offering Phil a refund (Bobby ALWAYS has to be pressured to do the right thing, threatened with his reputation and continued ability to conduct business), he failed to come through. The first excuse may have been valid... the second is highly suspect. Either way, after two MONTHS of being jerked around, there was an offer made for an alternative way to just end the entire thing... Which was met with abuse and vulgarity.
I urge you to go back a page or two to the post I made containing a series of Links. These are all situations where Pruett was clearly in the wrong and they show his pattern of behavior. He's had some good deals too, but as time goes on these seem to be less and less frequent and more and more fraught with problems and difficulties, all stemming from his attitude and his lack of consideration for animals and people.
