In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bobby Pruett, Arboreals Etc (Bad Guy)

OK man. I see what you're saying now. Sorry for the confusion. I just don't think there is any question that what Bobby did was intentional.

After what Bobby pulled on John Camp and UrbanJungles in general, I have no use for this guy whatsoever. I would think that Phil's only fault in this would be not realizing what Bobby Pruett was to begin with.

I don't think Bobby Pruett should have had those snakes on his table in the first place. When I have a animal that is not in the best health, I would not want to represent myself with it, or try to pass it on to someone else to be their problem. However, the buyer was there to see the animal and he should have used common sense and passed on the deal. I do think if Bobby promised to return the snake he received in the deal, then he should do it. For what it's worth, Bobby sold me 2 leopard geckos over the internet that arrived in less than perfect condition, which he did not make me aware of before hand. Both have obviously suffered from a clacium deficiency problem and have deformed front legs. If I had seen these geckos at a show, I would not have bought them. Bobby said he hadn't noticed the problem before when I e-mailed him to tell him. I think he was lying. I don't see how you could miss a problem like that.

Bree.....I think you are missing the point that Bobby ripped off a naieve trusting KID. Philip took Bobby's word about those snakes and it smacked him back in his face. Its easy to see that Bobby Pruett is a worthless scam artist. I am very sorry to hear about your experience wth him, but I am definitely not surprised.

It sounds to me like Bobby gave the kid a good idea what he was getting into if he took those snakes. The kid could see they were emaciated. He was told they were finicky. He was told they were eating pinky parts(not good nourishment). All of those facts should have told him to stay away, but being an inexperienced kid, he didn't get it. I don't see where Bobby took advantage of him.

Philip is a great guy who takes immaculate care of his herps. BUT.....he is 15 mind you.

Bree.......if you can't see whre Philip was taken advantage of you're not looking hard enough. Bobby led Philip to believe that the snakes would do just fine in his care and were in good health. This of course was not true. Those snakes were days from death regardless of who had them and Bobby knew it. He wanted to unload nothing for something. If you don't see a problem with that, then your ethics are greatly askew. Since Philip had no experience with Candoia he did not know how bad off the snakes were......yeah, maybe he should've gone with something he had more knowledge of......but he trusted Bobby and it blew up on him. This is wrong, no matter how you look at it.

I sell chameleons. If a mother of a 7 year old kid came up and wanted to buy a chameleon for her child, I would recommend against it. Legally all I have to do is tell them what it takes to keep the chameleon alive. Morally I should either not make the sale or steer it to a more approriate reptile. Legally Bobby did nothing wrong with the initial tradebut based on my personal opinion of the right thing to do it's is night and day.

I'm sorry. What exactly did Bobby say that was a lie? Like I said originally, I would not have put a sickly animal on my table. I would continue to work with it until it was in good health before offering it to someone to purchase. That is where I feel Bobby is not a "good guy". I'm not trying to defend him. I just think both parties made a mistake. Phillip has learned a valuable lesson, I'm sure. I'm a long way from 15 and I'm still learning. And just out of curiousity, why do you feel a need to attack me? I'm just giving my opinion like everyone else.

Bree Crews

Nobody is attacking you, Bree. The only mistake I see that Philip made was trusting a scumbag like Pruett.

Sorry, I have been gone the weekend, I havent followed up the replys, I will tomarrow and will reply some time then. Its great getting out side and going skiing and forgetting all about the internet and all this junk, my snakes are gone, its a lesson learned. Im leaving it at that.

Hey Philip,

You just learned a good lesson about who and who not to deal with.....smart chioce my friend! I guess it's better to learn it now for a few bucks than sometime in the future for hundreds or even thousands of dollars! Good luck to ya!

Hey Phillip,

I just wanted to say how impressed I was reading your e-mails to Bobby. You were always polite and courteous and never lost your temper with such a rude and sleazy individual. Bobby doesn't do good business and will never be respected by the reptile industry. I think you will be, however.

Bree Crews

Thanks,
Also I had a chance to read a few of the others replys, thanks for the help and every thing. Normally it would seem logical to blow back up to him, but that never does any good and gives them what they want. So I just try to reply as pollite as I can and be on the topic and not get off on other things like he was wanting. Im to busy now to answer stuped off topic messages from him that are not related to what I was talking about.
Its over, I will know look very carefully over any other animal I buy regardless who it is selling it.
I had been to Bobbys website and read a tun of his posts on line, I thought he was a well known stand up breeder who knew more then I did, so I trusted him and took his word, but dont get me wrong, he did warn me about there feeding habbits and that should have been a warnning there.
Any how,
Im taking notes, and this kind of thing can only be learned from experence, I will still my snakes with my two week garentee and back it up, and if somthing does go wrong I know will know to fix the problem as soon as you can.

Bree, not sure if you checked the link on the first page to the other thread about this or saw the photos.

Those animals were not something which could have been rehabilitated, no matter how much time, money or effort were invested and regardless of the expertise of the individual trying to do so. This is not a situation where something's a bit underweight and just needs some additional care, the animals were dead- beyond the point of return, when they were given to Philip.

Despite his spotty past, Bobby is not a stupid guy, nor is he inexperienced when it comes to animals. He knew full well in advance of even bringing those animals to the show that they were never going to make it. He's not stupid... he's also not honest. If someone is in a position which others would view as being authoritative, it's very easy to use a combination of inaccurate logic and outright lies to make someone accept birtually anything they are told. Especially in a situation such as this, where Bobby had been all rainbows and sunshine and played the gentle mentor prior to their face to face meeting.

As none of the rest of us were there for the exact transaction, we don't know, word for word, what Bobby told Philip about those animals. We do know that Bobby has a history of dishonesty and has misrepresented animals several times in the past. Philip has shown himself to be extremely patient, honest and generally just an upstanding guy.

After being pressured into offering Phil a refund (Bobby ALWAYS has to be pressured to do the right thing, threatened with his reputation and continued ability to conduct business), he failed to come through. The first excuse may have been valid... the second is highly suspect. Either way, after two MONTHS of being jerked around, there was an offer made for an alternative way to just end the entire thing... Which was met with abuse and vulgarity.

I urge you to go back a page or two to the post I made containing a series of Links. These are all situations where Pruett was clearly in the wrong and they show his pattern of behavior. He's had some good deals too, but as time goes on these seem to be less and less frequent and more and more fraught with problems and difficulties, all stemming from his attitude and his lack of consideration for animals and people.

Thanks for the links Seamus, I learned allot from them.

Once more I still want a refund from Bobby. I have visted his site and read his TOS.
He has violated his own TOS from the start. Please read them at...
http://www.arborealsetc.com/terms.htm

He knownly made a sell to a minor, me, and did not ask for my parents or guardean to be contacted or look at the snakes.

"A photo or other evidence of a dead animal will be required. Gender is guaranteed as represented. You must notify us within 4 hours if you are dissatisfied. Please ask us if you have any care or maintenance questions. It's easier to prevent a problem than to fix one. There will be no cash refunds, unless amount received was a deposit as stated above, but rather credit for or replacement of the reptile for another reptile of equal value."

From reading this Bobby, I want a 2003 amel female corn snake that I gave you back, if not then YOU ARE VIOLATING YOUR OWN RULES THAT YOU HAVE SET. I also would like to have you reply and stop ignoreing me, if you have ignored me till Friday then I will start calling and keep calling till you answered so I can talk to you.

Thanks for reading and I look forword to hearing from you Bobby,
THanks for your time.,
Philip

Seamus,

Perhaps you have missed some of my replies. I have said that I think it was wrong for Bobby to have brought these animals to a show and try to pass them off on someone else. And, yes, I did see the photos and I agree that those snakes were in terrible shape, a condition I think anyone could recognize.

Bree Crews

That's not supprising Philip, I sent him an invoice for an animal he got from me and never paid for, and his reply to my invoice when I sent it to him simply said.......'not good enough'. I called him to try and get the money he owed me and he more than in an off color way stated I wasn't getting paid. So after a few more calls he sent me an e-mail stating this:

'Let this also serve notice to you that your harassing phone calls will no longer be tolerated.'

Unbelievable that this goes on in the business!

You send someone animals on the arm, when you ask to get paid you are told to buzz off, and when you continue to try and collect you are sent an e-mail stating the above.
