• In the past two days I have gotten emails asking about being requested to provide credit card info in order to register and also to make a post in the classifieds forums. PLEASE NOTE: In no instance will this site ask you for this sort of information. The only time any request for payment is made is if you choose to opt-in for a higher membership level, and that is done SOLELY through PayPal. Anything else is coming from a source other than this site. My guess is that this is coming through Google Adsense, but when I can get someone to send me a screen shot of this sort of request, I will know more.

    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

BOYCOTT reptileauctions.com. They allow known theives and scammers to use thier site.

Anything less than proof positive, is hearsay. I can not post the information on the BOI without using hearsay. The rules of the BOI does not allow hearsay, so this will need to play out. I will tell you this, the information I got was from a very reliable source, but none the less it would be hearsay for me to post it on the BOI.

I do think these answers will come very soon. Sorry I can not give you more without being in violation of the rules of the BOI.

Keep in mind I was not the thread starter, but I am one of the largest sellers on the site in question. If I could do more, I would, but my hands are tied at this point.

I got a phone call today from a very reliable source, but it is in fact no more than hearsay here at this point. Until something changes, there is nothing else I can add. :rolleyes:

I did not say who as I had asked Wes if he knew, and he had not answered. MOST people when they know who does own that site, do not question any more why "they allow known thieves and scammers to use their site" and also many avoid it for that reason alone.

Seamus, WTH are you talking about? When did I ever do anything that denied or even suggest to deny you or anyone else for that matter. their right to keep animals or any of the other foul things that spew from your mind?

I thought fauna was cracking down on these baseless personal attacks and the kiddies name calling, especially when it only seems to exist in someones mind for whatever reason they seem to develop and can not control it

The BOI is supposed to show proof. All this thread has shown is hearsay, facts without actually giving facts, and name calling.
 
I do agree, lets either find out what is really happening, or delete the thread since this thread shows no signifigance what so ever.

I will get my answers. It would be easier if some of you would stop making ASSumptions about that which you have no knowledge of, sort of like I'm trying to do.

IF I ASSume that someone did a thing without knowing the truth about whether they did it or not, I am simply GUESSING.

Sorry that some of you have the attention spans to rival the life spans of some gnats are unhappy, but you are not a concern in this.

Something happened to change things in a BIG way just a few short months ago and things were looking rosy over at reptileauctions. Then something happened that set time back and allowed true poop back in to smear itself all over a nice clean, or far cleaner than anytime in recorded history at any rate, site.

I want to know WHAT happened to make that crapfest occur.
 
This thread isn't making much sense to me at all either. What is the big deal about divulging who the owner is of the Reptile Auction site? I don't get it, if the owner of the site was proud of what they were doing they'd be shouting it from the rooftops... right?

Or... perhaps the owner of the site is king scum of the reptile world and trying to hide? Why would someone like that have people protecting their identity?

I'm guessing it must be someone like Tim Bowels, he's pretty good at trying to hide his identity from buyers online. Maybe it's really Chris Johnson and he was setting the site up as he knew his own TSE was ready to take a tumble?

I think if the owner of the site was a known "bad guy" it would be a lot easier to get people to quit using the site by announcing the owners name, rather than by trying to get people to leave because of the one known bad dealer they have allowed back on the site.

I don't use the auction site, never have and have no vested interest...... I do love a good soap opera though so this has definitely caught my interest!

Then you should have found out what happened BEFORE you posted a thread saying to boycott the site.
Only when you had all of the facts should you have posted a thread on the BOI to boycott Reptile Acutions. Right now there is no concrete evidence provided to support a boycott. The only thing that has been revealed is that Wendy and Jeanne are selling dragons again.

That should not surprise anyone. This info has been available for a long time. Does anyone remember the promotional penny acutions Flukers ran when they were trying to get more exposure to the site?

Steve, this is entirely a personal thing with me.

Someone has done a turnabout on me after I put my neck out. Now I'm all bruised and somewhat bloody and I, personally, will not be too quiet about it.

I am calling for this boycott, as I thought I had explained, because somehow what is said is not what is done over there and THAT ALONE is reason enough for me to bail. Since I did stick my fool neck out for them when I was under the impression that things would be changing and THAT has now changed, I'm taking back my support for the site and asking anyone else that went there because I recommended giving them a shot, stop.

Only secondary is the search for who and why.

I have enough facts to say what I did.

Now, if someone over there, the someone who made this decision to go backwards, would just come here and tell me why, I would be sincerely appreciative.
 
I can completely understand you being upset if you were lied to but between what Bobby, Gary, Seamus, Cheri, and yourself has posted, no one knows what is going on.

It is frustrating to try and follow this thread without seeing the entire picture and they way it appears, we may not ever be privy to the details.

I am merely pointing out that a boycott thread, without all of the facts being presented, makes it difficult for people to make an informed decision as to whether or not they want to agree with a boycott or ignore it.

I completely understand what you are saying as well as what you are hoping to accomplish but I have my doubts that the responsible party will ever come on the BOI and explain their actions.
 
OK, enough. Someone please explain to me why this thread should even be on the BOI.

Wes, did you have a failed or otherwise noteworthy BUSINESS transaction with reptileauctions.com? Is this about business you have engaged in? Or is this just all about some website doing something you don't like nor approve of? And you are calling for a boycott for that reason? If so, the BOI is not the platform for PERSONAL issues of that nature.

Unless someone can provide facts and details, along with whatever opinions they have supported those DETAILS, then this whole thread really does not belong here, in my opinion, and will be moved to the Web Watch forum.

So enough of the "insiders secret knowledge" stuff and state that "knowledge" and why it is pertinent in this forum or this thread will be moved. In other words, put some meat on the plate instead of this zero calorie stuff.
