• In the past two days I have gotten emails asking about being requested to provide credit card info in order to register and also to make a post in the classifieds forums. PLEASE NOTE: In no instance will this site ask you for this sort of information. The only time any request for payment is made is if you choose to opt-in for a higher membership level, and that is done SOLELY through PayPal. Anything else is coming from a source other than this site. My guess is that this is coming through Google Adsense, but when I can get someone to send me a screen shot of this sort of request, I will know more.

In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

BOYCOTT reptileauctions.com. They allow known theives and scammers to use thier site.

I agree Gary, he is my friend as well. But the fact of the matter is, he is not running the show. Therefore I am pulling my auctions as well as any ties to that sight. I do not dislike your/my friend, matter of fact I like him a bunch. But I have no use for the one that is now running the show. Call it boycott, or anything else. I will not be a part of that scum that is behind all of this. I will also be resigning my position as the moderator of the tegu forums there on their forums. I will not be in any part of anything that he is a part of. I have been a member there for a long time and have one of the highest feedbacks on that site. I am not blowing my own horn, I have worked damn hard at keeping all of my customers happy. My reputation is:

Varnyard (190) NUMBER OF COMMENTS 190 POSITIVE COMMENTS 100.00%.
That is something to be proud of. But I must say, it is sad to think they would turn their back on such a great asset to a site like that. But so be it. I will say my customers will fallow me, most of them are repeat customers, and will remain as such.

I will spend my time here more, as well as other sites he does not run behind the scenes. I am more than sure Fauna needs honest sellers, as well as mods that do not harbor and worship people like that.

Everyone else can do as they wish, but if you only knew the truth you would do as me and get as far away from that site as you can. It is not being run by the ones you think it is. This will all come out soon regardless, however I still think that sooner would have been better. If it is a long time coming, I don't think the reaction will be the warmest.

Bobby, friendship is one thing.......but they can't expect you to "go down with the ship" as well, and see your good reputation tarnished by being associated with the behind-the-scenes powers that be. You did what you could, and now I admire your decision to call it quits. Sad for the good folks there, but it has to be done.

Maybe someday they will get things sorted out, and get rid of the problem and scum....until then, I'll not be going back there.

Bro I agree 100% with this post. Them sites had a lot going for them and as you already know it might turn around if everything goes a certain way.

But I agree with you 100%

I thought one of the keys to the BOI is to use real names so we know who we are dealing with? Reptileauctions.com is a tradename, not a real one.If you guys know who is making the decisions you are unhappy with, state their names so they can dispute or not dispute the accusations.

This "I know things I'm not telling" is not proof of anything, nor is relying on oral promises.....

BTW, I've never bought or sold on the site, I just like to see consistency in the way the BOI demands proof of peoples' claims.

And I feel that Wes is asking what is going on and asking the person to come out as he does not have 100% proof.

Untill this proof can be found people that was not directly involved will sink with the ship if you will.

Sometimes you have to hold fire untill the good people are out of the way.

Lloyd, I don't think using "Reptileauctions.com" is really any different than saying things like "Reptile Ranch", or "RodentPro", or any other business name. It is the name of the business being discussed. Look on just the first page of the BOI, and from what I see, there are many more posts using the business name than the "real" name.

Also I would liek to state that how often do you see a person post something her and it get twisted and when it gets to joe blow it was nothing that the poster meant.

Like I stated earlier in this thread RUMORS................

Sorry but this thread seems to be doing the job of getting people to not post ads there. When the time comes and the person that it is all directed to comes out then the firing can happen. Firing blind will hurt good people

DISCLAIMER: The business names I mentioned just happened to be the first that popped into my mind. I am in no way saying either of them are good, bad, invloved, or otherwise have anything to do with any of this, lol. :shrug01:

How about a roll call of the people who used to post on Reptileauctions.com that no longer do. Maybe this will inspire someone to step up and explain what's going on there!

I'll start it off, I know of three:

Wes Pollock
Mike Greathouse
Bobby Hill

OK, last call. From what I can see of this thread, no one was ripped off by ReptileAuctions.com. The whole point of this thread is about an evident policy change that some people do not care for. That, unfortunately, has nothing to do with the BOI.

So unless someone can prove to me that this is a BUSINESS related issue concerning a BUSINESS transaction with ReptileAuctions.com (regardless of who owns it, runs it, or supports it), then I must move it to the Web Watch forum where I believe it belongs.

In case anyone has forgotten, this is plainly posted in the rules for posting on the BOI:

This forum is designed to serve the purpose of giving anyone interested in the buying and selling of herptile related merchandise the opportunity to inquire about, or find already existing information concerning a person or business with whom they are considering doing business with. This is NOT the place for flame wars of any kind. Statements, rebuttals and clarifications of FACTS are what we are looking for. Personal slurs or heated discusssions about someone's ancestry will not be tolerated. Opinions are acceptable as long as it is PLAINLY stated that you are stating an opinion. Facts are: dates, value of transactions, actual quoted conversations, and the like. Opinons are: YOUR interpretations of motives, business practices or impressions of the person with whom you had conversations with. Keep these FIRMLY in mind when you are posting your message.

Proof is optional, but recommended if you would like to remove any doubts about the truth of what you are posting. But this is purely up to you, just as the believability of what you post is purely up to the reader of your words.

I've given this a bit of thought and here's what I've come up with.

This IS a business transaction.

My reputation is valuable to me. Even though I keep insisting that I am just a guy with a big mouth and a knack for smelling tuna, I have garnered a reputation as an honest person. I do my utmost to be so.

I put my reputation on the line for reptileautions. By my being associated with them and publickly stating I was, by actively asking people to give them a try, I was driving business their way. This is not something I do often or easily. My backing of someone has value to me, this is important to me.

After I had done my part, something changed over there and it was no longer business as usual, let's clean the place up, but let the scum back in, we're having a party.

Well, to quote the famous clown, Homey don't play dat, and I took it as a personal affront not by anyone person, per se, but the site as a whole. I'd like to know who instituted this change in policy and although I've heard rumors, as of now, I have nothing further that I can ad.

Note, I did not say I would never say anything, just that for now, I cannot. As many of you have given your trust to me and asked me not to say anything about information that has come my way, so to has someone asked me not to say more about what I've been told.

I can't do more than I am.

Why was the change made? Who's idea was it? Who is so stupid?
This was also posted by the originator of this thread.

I DO think it belongs here. I've stated why. If those reasons are not sufficient, I will not argue the point.

Move it or leave it, the issue is the change in reptileacutions.

Alright, ReptileAuctions, how many do you need to lose before you engage in some damage control?

I'm not a big customer/seller like some of you folks, but I did a fair amount of purchasing, and WAS planning on listing quite a bit of stuff this fall. Add me to the list of former users, please.

In many buisnesses IF you get one to speak up, you can safely guess that at LEAST 10 other agree.

Were I a congressman, I'd claim to have 600,000 behind me. But I'd bet it's safe to say a WHOLE bunch of people are re-thinking not only where to sell, but now where to BUY.

It works both ways. I won't sell there. I won't buy there. I've got nothing against most who use the site, but if I do make a purchase from someone who does use that site, it will not be done on reptileauctions.

I don't even go there anymore, not even to look.

Mr. Zuchowski,
I know I am a nobody on this site but I would like to request that you reconsider moving this post to an obscure corner of Fauna.
I have read through this entire post and from what I have read there was indeed a business transactional agreement made which has now been broken.
Mr. Pollock and others agreed to perform services for Reptile Auctions under the condition that Reptile Auctions keep known scammers off the site once they had been discovered. It appears that this deal was kept for a period of time and has now been broken by Reptile Auctions.
Whether it was one individual who no one will/can identify or the entire staff of Reptile Auctions is irrelevant and the effect is the same. The site Reptile Auctions is no longer honoring their business agreement with Mr. Pollock and others by allowing persons previously kicked off that site for fraudulent business practices to return.
As a result Mr. Pollock and others have performed a service and upheld their end of the deal without receiving the compensation promised.
In short they got ripped off and that is, to my understanding, why you started the BOI. To expose fraud in the industry and warn others about possible rip offs.

I never tried to count the number of times Repti-Bid was condemned on the BOI as Repti-Rip due to the high number of fraudulent sellers they allowed prior to becoming Reptile Auctions. I personally feel that if Reptile Auctions is going to return to their old Repti-Bid policies it needs to be out in the open where everyone can be warned of the possibility that they will be ripped off.

Well, I had been thinking of posting 2 or 3 reptiles on ReptileAuctions that I was looking to sell, but now I think I will just post them here at some point. I don't have a clue what is going on at RA, but I don't want any part of any sort of shady "behind the scenes" dealings, or whatever. I haven't not done much selling on ReptileAuctions in the past year (since I was badly wiped out by a hurricane) but I have made a few purchases there in the last year. I was going by there a couple times a week to see what people had for sale (mainly looking at stuff from Bobby Vanyard and Mike Greathouse), but now due to this thread I am not taking any chances by buying or selling there, especially since the aforementioned people that I know and trust have abandoned doing business there. I am getting back into reptiles slowly, just one by one, but had been planning to buy/sell there more in the future when we moved back to Mississippi and really got going with the breeding and all that again.

So you can add me to that list too. And FYI, I just checked and I currently show my feedback score on there at 173. I have never had any major issues at RA that haven't been solved. However, in light of this thread, I will hold off doing any more business there until I have some sort of idea of what is going on.

Like a lot of others, I will just keep an eye on this thread to see what develops.

Take my word for it, this list is much longer than this and growing by the day.
Wes Pollock
Mike Greathouse
Bobby Hill
Chuck Kimmel

I have pulled all of my auctions, but there is still a problem. I am still set as Moderator on the forums there.

This goes out to whomever it is running the show on reptile auctions and anything else that is run by them.
Since you have a problem fulfilling my request or replying to my PM at your site. I will say this here for you as well. I do not want to be a part of that site. PULL MY POSITION AS MODERATOR. I know you guys are reading this thread, honor my request. I do not want my name mixed up in your mess, I did not have any part in it and want no part of it now.

PULL MY NAME AS MODERATOR!!!
