In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

BRANDON AT REPTIRUS- REALLY BAD GUY.

no , there was no evidence that the box was ever dropped or mishandled. I was very impressed by that actually.

When I got it, it looked as though someone gave me a brand new shipping box. haha

but I was wondering why I had like 2 or 3 Triple Moon Exotics cards in the packing box and nothing from the seller. I was very confused, and had no idea who that person was. But now I know that too.

Sorry about that. :ack2: I had multiple shipments going out so I must have slipped cards in with yours along with the others (my fault, wasn't paying attention).

Thanks. Providing that this is accurate, it pretty much takes all doubt about this gecko being shipped with this bump out of question.

Marcia, I don't appreciate your implications that any of this is my fault simply because I taped up a box and had my driver pick up.
I am not concerned whether or not you 'appreciate' anything, Steph. The fact remains that is was YOU that shipped the geckos, so there is no way the seller could in any way, shape, or form give an account, FOR HIMSELF, of the condition of the geckos before they were shipped. Any implication of your responsibility in this situation has been entirely brought on yourself. You have implicated yourself simply by dubbing yourself as his spokesperson in this matter.

With that said, I'm not sure if you are doing more harm than good for your buddy. I would personally prefer to hear from the seller on his own behalf when he gets back from bowling.

I don't understand...

are you saying that because the box came in good condition that I am at fault for this deformity?

Excuse me?
Nope, the exact opposite.

I'm not big on trust and I do believe you about the box. But, maybe I'm wrong and the gecko jumped out of your hand and injured itself when you first got it.

I don't think this happened, but I don't know that it didn't.

SO, I know the box was good which leads me to believe that shipping had nothing to do with the bump.

I'm sure, from seeing the pictures, that she had the bump prior to being shipped. It just seems bigger now than it did then.

thanks for helping out Marcia.

Again, I concur. And I too am awaiting a response from Brandon.

I left a message on his phone earlier, and i'm hoping to get a reply by email as well.

Wilomn,

I appreciate your humor in the matter. haha.

Just wanted to clarify what you were trying to say. thanks for the response.

as Marcia said, MBD can be aggravated by shipping.

and it could be that, the bump comes out differently under different lighting.

Is that not true of us when we post pictures of ourselves? haha... we don't post the ones showing our blemishes! :)

If I knew how, I would post a video of me handling the gecko, to show you exactly what is going on with the bump, broken toe, and swelling and redness in her back legs.

Again, she is very calm and docile. Sweet gecko she is! :)

I was wondering why I had like 2 or 3 Triple Moon Exotics cards in the packing box and nothing from the seller.
 Now THAT'S interesting!!!

On a more professional note, I have seen examples of geckos arriving at their shipping destinations with kinked tails, when there was NO KINKED TAIL when they were shipped. I have consulted with my veterinarian on this, and there is strong evidence that the stress of shipping, perhaps compounded by shipping conditions, such as extreme temperature and/or barometric changes, can have a direct influence on the parathyroid gland of these reptiles. This gland controls calcium metabolism, and I have direct experience with the onset of 'overnight MBD' with geckos subject to this type of stress.

The issue still remains that the gecko obviously had a pre-existing condition, that may or may not have been exacerbated by the stress of shipping, that is IN NO WAY a breeder. It is a pet only gecko.

My recommendation is to return the gecko for a refund. Let the seller handle this situation from his end. If there can't be made a solution to this mess, THEN it becomes a BOI subject. Until then, it remains an issue between the seller and buyer. Period.

It really doesn't matter how large the bump has become since it was shipped. Be that aggravation to an old injury from shipping, stress or whatever. The fact of the matter is that the bump was there prior to shipping and I'll bet if Brittney noticed the bump in the photo she received prior to purchase she wouldn't have purchased it. Bottom line is she don't want it as it serves no purpose for her original intention.

Brittney, on my last post I hit the send button to fast.

I wanted to add that I would ship the gecko back and trust that Brandon will do the right thing and refund you your purchase price plus shipping costs. I doubt he wouldn't make good on the refund in light of Steph's involvement in the matter and with her reputation on the line and good standing status in the fauna community.

Then again I think of Justyn "the scumbag back stabbing" Miller, and I'm right back to recommending you receive a full refund with shipping costs before the animal is shipped back. ;)

I had a feeling this would show up on the BOI...

Firstly, I know Brandon personally and upon receiving a phone call from Brittney he called me about the situation. Often I help Brandon out by shipping for him because his driver refuses to do pickups after 11am, so was the case with this shipment as I had my own shipments going out on Monday. I can attest that the gecko had no obvious deformities upon shipping out.

I did not pack them. He was doing it when I went to pick them up. I added a heat pack when I got them back to my place, taped them up and the driver picked up not long after.

So It has never been answered you had the geckos in your possession and you said they looked ok to you. Did you really look at them or just ship them for your friend assuming they were ok?

Please read the text you quoted. He was packing them up when I arrived. They were upstairs on his dining room table in deli cups as he put together a box. Yes, I did look at them while I was waiting for him to pack them up.

Do you mind me asking whether you have heard from him this evening. it seems he is not returning my emails. I would like to resolve this quickly, as I do not want to hold onto her over the long weekend.

thanks,

Stephanie

I did look at the text I quoted. the text regarding you packing them up did not say for sure . I am just trying to understand how many people who have never worked with geckos can see an issue from a picture. Yet they were in your possession and you saw nothing wrong. Looked a bit defenseive to me. Brittany the original picture of the gecko showed something wrong with the hip did you not pick up on that before the purchase?
