In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

BRANDON AT REPTIRUS- REALLY BAD GUY.

Serafim said:
So It has never been answered you had the geckos in your possession and you said they looked ok to you. Did you really look at them or just ship them for your friend assuming they were ok?

In all fairness...

Even if Steph had closely inspected the geckos, how would she know that this would be a problem? How is she to know what the details of what the deal was? Maybe Brandon was selling the gecko in this condition at a reduced price. How would she know that? Why would she be specifically looking for a deformity in an animal she has never seen before?

It was only her thing to ship the animals for Brandon as a favor. I cant see her in any of the wrong for that.

BUT.....FRIENDS DON'T LET FRIENDS SHIP THROUGH DHL. And thats all I'll say about that. ;)

yes, i agree with that...

But I have full email evidence that this gecko was sold to me as a "let go" breeding project, and told he was planning on using it next year, but decided to "let it go" ...

Brittney sorry about misspelling your name twice my daughters name is spelled Brittany. Force of habit lol.

Don't worry about it.

I get that all the time... ;)

hey guys... I'm really worried that I haven't heard from him at all,and that he will not answer my calls. nothing since 2:00 california time.... and he is well aware that this is an urgent request.

Worried about what? You want the guy to drop his bowling ball and drive home in his bowling shoes to address this right now? Come on....

This is really not a matter of urgency at all. lol. We are talking about a gecko that is otherwise healthy and responsive. lol. You're getting a tad carried away.

Relax. Think nice things like turkey's with stuffing and cranberry sauce.

haha. i'll do my best .

I didn't want to sound annoying when I posted that.. it's just LOTS of money we're talking about here... haha. well, for me that is. So it just feels urgent to me....

Brittney I have to agree with Chuck except on the cranberry thing EWWWW. This will work out for you. Just relax and give the seller time to respond.

Firstly, I know Brandon personally and upon receiving a phone call from Brittney he called me about the situation. Often I help Brandon out by shipping for him because his driver refuses to do pickups after 11am, so was the case with this shipment as I had my own shipments going out on Monday. I can attest that the gecko had no obvious deformities upon shipping out.

I did not pack them. He was doing it when I went to pick them up. I added a heat pack when I got them back to my place, taped them up and the driver picked up not long after.

Legitimate question, since we are tying to determine if there was a noticeable physical problem with the gecko prior to shipping.

He's bowling, remember?

WOW...

I feel the need to chime in here and really muddy the waters for you a bit! :D

I also received a gecko today, but I ordered mine from Stephanie. The packing was impeccable and the heat pack was still working when I opened up the box.

I do not know what they did to those boxes during shipping, but the poor fellow I got today looked like he had parkinson's disease when I put him in the quarantine rack. (No offense to you, Stephanie, I quarantine everything I get)

I called and mentioned this to Stephanie about a half hour after I got him settled in. I have been observing him most of the day and have come to the conclusion that he is in some kind of shock from shipping. He shakes badly, it's almost something I will have to get a video of for you to see. It is confined to the head, neck and front legs. It gets worse if I disturb him. I also called her to say he was doing better than he was right after setting him up, which he is as long as I speak and move softly.

He sees the vet tomorrow to rule out any chemical contaminant and so he can be observed there for his records. I also planned on breeding him next year.

All the above being said, I place NO BLAME whatsoever on Stephanie. I have the original shipping box and it is in pristine condition and was packed to a "T".

If I had to guess I would say he has been traumatised during shipping somehow. He acts as if he's scared silly. Wouldn't suprise me if they played football with the box only it wasn't damaged- hmmmm. Thank goodness my house is so quiet. Hopefully he'll be doing much better once he gets completely comfortable here.

Now, I know this situation may not pertain to the OP's original complaint and that it is nowhere near comparable. I just wanted to let those that were ready to vilify Stephanie that I believe DHL did not treat those boxes with the care they deserved during handling and shipping.

Also, on another note, Stephanie shipped these geckos for her friend. She did not engage in the sales transaction with the OP and is not responsible for their condition as she did not raise them.

I am quite sure if she noticed anything glaringly wrong during her casual observation of them during the packing process (remember she didn't do that part either) she would have mentioned it to the seller. I know I would have and I have spoken enough with Stephanie to be confidant she would have pointed out something disturbingly obvious.

I hope the OP and the seller have no problems during your refund process. Please keep in mind that if the original problem wasn't plain to see while he was advertising them you would never have purchased them! I really do believe that DHL exacerbated whatever problem there was and by the time you got her it was aggravated to the point that you could see.

I hear ya. You cant blame the guy for having a social life. If he ignores you or the thread well into the day tomorrow we'll all be here to show him how scary we can get and read him the riot act.

I can get p r e t t y scary by the way.

BOO!

See? Scared ya.

Do you mind me asking whether you have heard from him this evening. it seems he is not returning my emails. I would like to resolve this quickly, as I do not want to hold onto her over the long weekend.

thanks,

Yes, I have spoken to him and I have advised him to keep contact with you only through e-mail so there is electronic proof of your conversations. That is more then likely why he is not answering his phone, though by "bowling" I did mean he does competitive bowling with a team which he does every Tuesday night, not that he just decided to go out and bowl.

You really won't have a choice but keep her the weekend. I would not suggest shipping her out Tues for Weds delivery because you're just asking for a hold up with the holiday and all, which would definitely result in a deceased animal.

Thank you Maggie for your post, I do appreciate it. As I've said, PLEASE keep me updated on him. And sorry about on the phone earlier...My insurance company has been driving me MAD as of late!

A note to others, her gecko was shipped FedEx per her request, not DHL.

I completely agree. It would not be a good thing to re-ship an already stressed animal so soon. Let her settle down, get warm, have a drink and maybe she'll eat... before subjecting her to shipping again.

You are correct. I got DHL on the brain while reading all the posts! I'm blonde, wadda ya want?! :D

oh gosh yes, the last thing i want is that!

I don't really mind holding her long, I just want thing to get resolved... so we can all go back to dreaming about turkeys, and cooking stuffing and yummy things like that. :)

oh, and about the shipping... I really don't believe my box was badly taken care of. Really, these geckos are amazingly docile. they didn't even mind me taking them out, they were just chillin' out... it was pretty amazing actually. They have even eaten a bit, and have come out of their hides to say hello.

Just in case anyone is thinking about adopting this little girl or something.. she is JUST A SWEETHEART!. If I could keep her, minus the money I spent, I'd be a VERY happy woman! :)

yes, I have been trying to talk to him about that... maybe paying like just the shipping for her... thats what most people do that adopt out geckos.

would you you think that was fair? If I kept the male... and just paid the shipping for the female?

I think thats a good solution.

well, i do have a $145 vet bill over my head... so hmmm.... i still can't decide.
