So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Dealing with Mick/WichitaFallsReptileRescue (Fireside3) and business charm.

Well, I think on his website and elsewhere, according to his statements, Mr. Montanucci only OFFERED to read his "manuscript" or whatever. I'm sure Mr. Montanucci was being polite, and of course it never showed up in his email most likely. Mick/Mike probably wanted him to pay for a copy to proofread. lol
 
Yeah well maybe I got that screwed up. The guy just irritated me and Richard is a good friend so I thought I would let him know that guy was name dropping his name. How can you think you can treat people in such a disrespectful manner and expect to be taken seriously is beyond me. I did write back to Mike(seems to be his real name) in a proffesional manner that he would be a lot better off getting his message accross if he treated people with a little more respect. I respect his wanting to stop the pet trade in phrynosoma as they are very specialized animals but how can he get his message out after getting kicked off a lot of forums(someone here stated he got kicked off of many forums). If it is really important to him he needs to set aside his ego and really work on getting his message accross in a more PROFFESIONAL manner.

Oh I'm not defending him a bit Tom. Sorry if it came across that way. I wholeheartedly agree that he'd be a lot better off if he could learn to treat customers and other humans with a little civility and respect. Hell, if he'd gone about it different I might have actually listened to what he said and eventually bought his "book" to learn more, but now I've taken my business elsewhere.
 
No offense taken. I didn't think you were defending him. I was just adding to the whole story so you could see I tried to give him the benefit. Man you should have seen the mail I received after the first post. Couldn't post it as I would have been banned for life! LOL. Let's hope he learns from this but I would not expect him to. I was so embarrassed for him I did not forward that part of the message to Richard.

Not sure about all the other things mentioned in previous post, sounds like he just didn't want to sell ants to some of you. Which is his right. I have never collected ants but I am sure there is a certain degree of difficulty. I'm sure it takes time to collect. I placed two orders from him, read his terms and conditions and my ants have arrived alive and well. He is the cheapest that I have found. In fact my last order was delayed and he sent out a 1000 extra ants to make up for it. I received emails stating the delay and when he shipped them. They arrived about 5 days later. If i needed them faster I would have had them shipped faster. Not looking to argue or mentally joust with anyone. Just giving my opinion.
 
*shrug* I'm sure there's customers out there who just nod their head (figuratively) at his speeches and such, and I'm sure there are those who easily get talked into whatever he says, convinced he's some expert. Unfortunately, for him in my opinion, I wasn't one. I not get a steady supply of ants without any hassle or attitude or tirades. I may pay $2 more per 1000, but that's a small price to pay IMHO.

I guess he thinks I'm all heartbroken over the loss of him as a supplier. Obviously he's also perusing these forums keeping up with the truth being told over here. Gotta hurt if he's emailing me at 2:30am with drivel like that! Such a class act.

As for his price argument, he's wrong on two counts.
1) I pay 25.55 for 1000 ants.
2) They come priority mail. According to his website, he charges $17.99 for 1000 ants, but he charges $5 for priority mail. Apparently, the math I pulled out of my *ss was closer to the truth than his thought out b.s. he sent me this morning. lol

I wonder which of the backers of his on here are actually him (or his mom) with all the "I don't blame him for being a complete jack*ass, he runs a rescue!" baloney.
 
Well the tool is getting around. I just joined another forum and saw that ridiculous iguana thread again. I decided to try and help them out by telling them about Mike's real character. Well that got derailed because of someone's dislike of the boi. Then Mike graced us with his presence. I assume it was very similar to what Richard just posted because they edited out "the personal attacks". Point being he is trolling all of the forums to see what's being said about him.

She did email me to let me know she was looking over both threads I linked, this one and the 'alleged' lizard in the dumpster. I think she will get an eyeful.

Many people work their way up in escalating into a truly out of control verbal assault. This guy is so extremely verbally abusive so quickly with anyone who disagrees with him at all, that I wonder about his mental status and hope for the safety of any critters in his care.
 
Apparently he has Google alerting him of when the iguana subject pops up.

So any time someone types "iguana found in dumpster" by an angry self-important man, google notifies him? How does that work?

I found out about the video from a friend, then someone here made the connection ... had to post links to this thread & the other one. He has no credibility with me.

I am very happy to be the kind of person who pays more for quality... and that includes the quality of the people I choose to work with....

It's never a good sign when someone has to name drop, and puff up their chest like a threatened gorilla at the drop of a hat...normally they are blowing tons of smoke, and harboring even more deep seeded anger issues.
 
Now of course...I give props if that animal really was dumped by the store, and this man found it and saved it.

But at this point, I can't pick sides on that topic.

However....his general attitude towards people who simply wish to purchase ants from him....leaves A WHOLE LOT to be desired.

Desert Horned Lizards are the toughest animal I have ever ever had.

I have never gotten (or needed!) this level of support before.

I found both information in the manual written by this guy and answers to questions I asked about details that weren't in the manual, to pan out and be useful.

This is an excerpt from one of his many emails back and forth with me that shows his compassion. I wanted his help with lizards who needed more help than I have experience to give and one who looked ok but I wanted an evaluation. I only wound up sending the ones who needed it, given his advice against shipping that wasn't absolutely necessary,

"I prefer there to be a clear need to take the risk - like he needs medical care, rehoming, etc. Right now I think he is better off to stay there, so long as he doesn't start losing weight, but just to make us both feel better you can send me some more photos of him from top, side, and bottom and let me take a closer look."
 
My husband and I also just had a run in with this organization on FB. The page owner cursed me out when I tried to defend another person he had maligned. He deleted any original posts and then only used isolated quotes out of context to "prove" his point. His language was vile and his posts filled with untruths. I am deeply saddened that someone would behave this way and falsely accuse someone the way he did my friend.

I guess this must just be the way this person does business. Here are the emails between Mick and me. I did not search out his name prior to doing business with him, it would have saved me some time, but would have been much less entertaining. I'll let others read the dialogue and take from it what they will. Here goes:

You would have been automatically directed to a payment confirmation message after placing the order. Nevertheless, you didn't ask about payment confirmation. You asked if the order had been shipped.
If the "tone" sounds unfriendly to you, it is because I am busy running a business and an animal rescue, and I have little time for people who cannot be bothered to read the clear bold-type-faced terms and policies on the website that would have given you the answer.
If you don't like the tone, I invite you to see my competitor next time you order, where you may pay $24.95 for the same quantity.

Even if they did not read something.
I’m shocked you continue to use the same aggressive tone with a complete stranger.
Having competitive prices does not give anyone the right to treat customers poorly.
Take a step back and put yourself in my shoes.
Do you think it is appropriate to be treated in this manner?
We are all busy, but we should all be kind to one another.
Life is too short to alienate.
You can probably care less, but I think it is important to let people know when things are wrong.

I have the terms and conditions on the website for a reason, and I am shocked that you are so rude as to not bother to read them, then email the day after your order to ask if it has shipped on a friday!? Who is being rude is you.
You are wasting my time with bullshit that you could have found the answer to yourself if you weren't so lazy as to avoid reading the information on the website that clearly spells this out.
If you have ever dealt with live feeders you should know better.
If you had read the terms as you are expected to as a buyer, then you would have known better.
If you can't be bothered to take the time to read terms when you purchase something, then I have no time for you. My time costs me, and it costs these animals, and yes, I have enough loyal customers that I don't have to waste my time messing with whom ever I don't want to.
Your order is being cancelled, your money refunded, and you are banned from business here. Take is somewhere else jack. I don't have time for impatient a-holes like you who can't be bothered to read before bugging me with your bullshit questions.
