In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Evan Stahl

You make some good points Dan, especially since I read some other threads about Evan.

I definitely believe both contributed to the situation, but I wouldn't say it was even.
But you have to think why the buyer ordered another snake on top of the the original order, even after the first shipment was messed up.

I'd also wonder why you would purchase an animal right before you leave town for a few weeks, doesn't seem responsible!

The buyer filed for a refund on paypal, which would be fine all by itself, why go the extra mile and file with your bank also? Especially before paypal finished with the determination of the refund.

The buyer got his money back, claims the bank messed up with filing fraud charges, and the buyer threatens to file with the BBB. So how is Evan being uncompromising?

Evans no saint after reading other threads, but this time I think he does deserve some support... JMO

Oh Dan, your post would be awesome if it had anything to do with this deal and was not just a long personal attack on me. If you think everybody I deal with has an issue with me when I have had 2 threads on here in the past year or so and I have dealt with thousands of customers in the past year on kingsnake, on facebook, from my websites, at the 40 or so reptile shows I vended at this year and the dozen or more pet stores that I supply. You look at my spotless trader ratings on here, my positive reviews on facebook pages and the positive comments all over the net of the happy customers that I have had. But Dan wants to make everybody think that instead of 2 out of 1000 or more, it is 2out of 2 and that is just a lie Dan. Any business that deals with volume of people will have a number of complaints, especially when you deal with live animals.

To answer the other questions, as I have said before, he went to his bank and filed fraud charges without telling me. Paypal told me days later that they were reversing my payments due to his bank filing complaints with them, that my payments were unauthorized and fraudulent which the op states in his post also. He then went back later after I got bent out of shape about being called a criminal and stealing money from him and he then dropped the fraud complaint, after paypal not only had refunded all his monies but a $20 fee from the bank on top of that.

It is not a problem with me, it is a problem with immature people who cant wait until the weather is safe for shipping their animals in horrible weather. He agreed to wait and knew that shipping may take a while and then changed his mind anyway. He did not care, as he told me on the phone, when he told me If I ship them they will die.

Lets be clear, he did not tell me that he filed fraud charges to get a refund, (because he knew that paypal would not give him a refund due to it being a live animal purchase) until I called him after I shipped his animals. So why now is he threatening me and posting a bad guy thread about me after he has been refunded in full?? Even though I do not have ONE CENT of his money he messaged me a dozen times, called my house 5 times in an hour even after I told him not to call me. Am I really a bad guy because I got angry and refused to talk to him about this after he filed false allegations against me of criminal wrong doing and got his full refund and bank fees on top of it? No I am not a saint and don't claim to be. This guy committed crimes, do you understand? He knowingly filed a false criminal report against me when I had done nothing even close to what he said that I did. How could I charge his card with authorization when he paid through paypal? I could not. it is impossible. BUT HE ADMITS ALL THIS IN HIS POST HERE. He also apparently does this often as he posted here and in messages to me, as almost none of this was over the phone, that he knows all the bank codes and the terms and numbers of the different fraud complaints and such.

Just a thought. I wonder if this had anything to do with weather. The OP put up an ad for king rat snakes wanted here on Fauna a few days prior to allegedly leaving for vacation. I wonder if he just got a better deal elsewhere.

The wanted female king rat snake was placed in an attempt to see if I could locate a female for the male from Evan. In case I had to wait until spring it would've given me incentive.
When I told Evan I wouldn't be able to accept shipment he refused to give me a refund so I waited for another week hoping the weather would improve and he would be able to ship but it didn't happen. I am having UPS located the voucher for the voided shipment that took place the same day the chargebacks removed the money from his account.

My biggest problem with this entire transaction is the way he presents himself, I tried to explain what happened with my bank and their screw up and he flips his lid and behaves like a child. Accuses me of trying to screw him out of money and scam him, telling me that I am a liar and told my bank that he was attempting to scam me. This bad guy thread isn't about me getting my money back but the manner of which Evan handled it.

The charge backs are being reversed so he will have my money when the process is complete. So like I stated over fb, he needs to either work with me on getting the snakes when the money is returned to him or refund it. If he chooses to keep it that's on him.

To answer the other questions, as I have said before, he went to his bank and filed fraud charges without telling me.

Actually, you're not answering my question. So, once again....

HOW do you know that he told his bank that? The forms CLEARLY show that's NOT what he told his bank, if we are to believe the postings. Do YOU have any proof he filed fraud charges with his bank??

Repeating the same claim without answering the question isn't quite sitting well with me.

Also so it is clear, I processed the chargebacks only after UPS notified me I would be receiving a package to my house and only after calling Evan to tell him I wasn't home and having him void the shipment. Having not had any communication from Evan in regards to him shipping, I had assumed he would've notified me before doing so how ever he didn't and after reviewing his post here I determined it was best to get my money back and avoid and possible DOAs as a result of the lack of communication. His tarantulas sat on my porch for an hour before I was able to get home and pull them out to check on them and call him to straighten it out. I have received animals since this all took place. I can't in the dead of winter with the job I work have an animal sent to my house without having the delivery date set in stone so that I can be there to properly care for it when it comes in. I set up my UPS account to notify me because of his accidentally sending me the tarantulas without me expecting a package.

I did not tell my bank you committed fraud. I told them the merchandise was unsent. That way when paypal and the credit union investigated the charge back, they would ask for proof of delivery and my money would be returned to me and it would be no harm no fowl on either of our parts.

As I stated before I am sorry my bank screwed up and have spent countless hours on the phone and made two trips since to straighten it out. However I will not tolerate being called a liar and a scammer and having tried to contact you via the phone multiple times and having left countless messages got no co operation what so ever.

This makes no sense.

If you don't like the way he handles himself, then why are you trying to send him your money?

Why not just keep your money and shop somewhere else? It's obvious Evan doesn't want to do business with you (and frankly, seeing this thread, I wouldn't want to either!) so I am not sure why you are trying to send money to him. Sounds like you are wanting to create more drama.

I don't care about Evan's past dealings on here....this thread clearly shows that he's not in the wrong here. Even the OP admits that.

I can't figure out how to edit the previous post, so I have altered the files to hide the vulgarity. You can delete the previous two post with the documents or explain to me how to edit them.

My bank was pressing criminal charges against him for something he did not do, because they filed the report incorrectly and flagged my accounts as having been compromised. The quickest way to get them to drop the charges was to null and void and chargeback with my bank. As long as the chargeback was active being as it had been processed as a Unauthorized payment ( which it wasn't) they were going to push criminal charges for Fraud.

So, maybe, tomorrow Evan is going to get the funds after the reversal (re-reversal, re-re-reversal?).

It makes no sense then, Joeseph, that you sent him a request for payment before that even took place. You are asking him to refund monies that he does not yet have, and he sure tried to tell you that a lot.

John,
Quite difficult to follow, isn't it? Seems that, Joseph, trying to keep the bank from filing charges against Evan, has reversed the charges once again, so, in the end, Evan will again have the money placed in his Paypal account.

At least I THINK that's how it was explained.

Well Gee Troy seeing as the op has now posted 5 or 6 times that he filed the chargeback as a fraud charge answers your questions, but here is a note I got from paypal as well

Hello Evan Stahl,

We were recently notified that one of your buyers filed a chargeback and
asked the credit card issuer to reverse a payment made to you on Dec 2,
2013.

The buyer claims that this purchase was made without authorization to use
the credit card. Their credit card issuer needs additional information from
you about this transaction.
