So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

i had a fecal test done after the animal arrived . it was clean ! i let him breed one week later . no need to QT a clean animal ! is there ? he was doing very well and eating like mad .

i am wrong huh ? wrong for getting the project i wanted and invested much emotion in ? whatever .

i would have went to every show on the east coast to buy SnowS from Mr. Mack .

here how about this . Alex im sorry that i do not have it in me , to do anything out of spite , that would effect the market for the snows , like you seem to think .

ill tell you what though , you turned down alot of people right ? thats what i would be worried about not me .
im just too nice of a guy to do it to you !
 
kelli , how many months ago was that ? im speaking about now . currently ! this 1 gecko slowed eating and was found to have pins and an ameoba .

you have never had any parasites huh ? LOL

This is implying you never had a problem until you got the Mack snow......

I have always used crickets as a partial diet (all of my animals get a varied diet) and have not had a problem..... But I guess it could happen....

I am not saying I have never had parasites. I am saying that you need to take a step back and think about your quarantine practices. Being careless can come back and bite you hard in the butt.

Now, I am afraid I am going to have to stop posting on this thread, as I am receiving threatening and obscene phone calls now. I have way more important things to do than stress out over people calling and leaving obscenity laden messages at 4:30 in the morning.

Nope Dope...wouldnt have been possible...why? because I received every remaining Mack Snow/Super Snow available after the last big show of 2004...NARBC philly. Prior to that...I had already picked up 2.1 Supers for myself in Tinley Park. And even more detail you dont know about because you aint in the "inner circle"...after Philly, John Mack made arrangements with myself and Albey as the only people he would let purchase Mack Snows/Supers for a set amount of time...which he has adhered too because he's a well respected and reputable breeder of which you know absolutely nothing about. Do you know why someone like John Mack whos been in this business a long long long time would trust a guy like me to represent his Morph and project? because I've shown and proven to him that I am nothing less than honest and of the highest integrity of which also you know nothing about.

Worried ? about what...not having enough Snows to go around this year because the people I originally turned down have placed deposits for this falls available snows...heck, I might even have to buy some more from John Mack or anyone else I've sold Mack snows to...just to keep up with the people who want them.

What you dont understand and probably never will is, most people with honesty, integrity and common sense who have been turned down by me in the beginning understand why it was so. In turn they did the next best thing...they placed deposits down and will wait their turn to receive a Mack snow later on when the project can keep up with the demand.

my others (the ones from 6 months ago ) are still being watched , are seperate , have not bred .

i have had a few of those checked because they are large enough to breed , the others seem fine or i would not have waited that long .

they seem fine , but i will still have them checked before they meet any of my other geckos just to be safe .

if the male wasnt eating or seemed stressed it would not have happened so soon .

why is that so hard to realize ?

Ha, bleach does not work!!! You have to treat surfaces with high temps, steam cleaning works fine. Otherwise they can go into cyst form, and bleach does not kill the cysts, it only kills animals in the active cycles! Several breeders (and zoos) have had collections wiped out by amoebas. As for metronidazole, it works with mild success, there are much better drugs to do the job, and they still don't treat the surface of the cages, etc. Even 6-8 months of neg. fecals does not mean the animal is not carrying amoebas, it just means the animal is not shedding them. It is a very bad thing to have in your collection, caution should be noted strongly.

Assuming Dan Poe has the capability of matching the other 9 breeders in production of offspring... that's now 10% of the snows offered to the public that will be tainted. And guess what, if he's selling them at lower prices he will get sales from unethical bargain hunters.

The entire future of the morph is put at jeopardy because Dan Poe's tainted stock stands a good chance of polluting the market and the cycle will repeat itself and spread.

And this is exactly my problem with the fact that Prehistoric Pets cut their prices on Blazing Blizzards. Do I really want unethical bargain hunters to rapidly infest the market and ruin the reputation of the morph (first thing I think of when I hear the word patternless is kinktail, for example)?


I gotta say, Dan is not a good first name in the leopard gecko business...

why on earth would you think i am ready to sell anything in light of the infection ?

what would make you think that the hatchlings would be carrying anything ? or why on earth would i sell any sick animals ?

if i have to i will get a clean bill of health from every one of my animals , and for every high-end gecko before it is sold to send along to the buyer .

you all know well it is not what you are making it out to be , this is an attempt to hurt me in a business sense .

well you are doing a good job , for the "flock" that beleive you .

you are only hurting yourself , if for any reason anyone beleives i will sell infected animals , i will then have to sell for much less .

just think about it . this is what will jeopardize your little project .

Alright Eric, where'd you get the inside information? How is it you can be so SURE he's going to wait even one month before he sells them?

Judging by what I've seen of him here, they'll be gone as soon as they're out of the egg and even before that if he can find a sucker or two.

Maybe he can find someone to broker them for him. Isn't sal tornambe back in business?
 
Monte, as much as you try to calm this down, I do not think your words of wisdom will help this matter..... Too many good people are heated about what went down...... This is just one of those situation that will have to fizzle out by its self...... I agree that the phone calls are a bit extream.... That crap needs to stop for sure..... That is a bit childish and you said, cowardly.....

I think everyone should stop posting on this thread........... and from now on, lets forget Dan Poe even exists!
