In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Heronboy, Jereme James, America's Finest Balls

So I figured I would post my experience with Jeremy. I purchased a late 2011 GHI female from him on October 10th of this year that was supposed to way 700ish grams, when I received her she only weighed 619. I figured that he had just weighed her full and forgot to mention it and I didn't really think anything of it because he had said she was a consistent eater and I figured she would put on the 100 grams in no time. Well as of know she is not a great eater and has yet to eat anything in the month that I have had her. I am not sure if this is just a normal ball python thing or if this trend is leading towards a slightly dishonest seller. I had been giving the benefit of the doubt, but after reading this thread I am not so sure.

A 2 year old BP female who is a good feeder should weigh at least 1200g and probably more like 1500g. In other words, yes there's something wrong there!

I have had a few of my females start off real slow and then turn into eating machines, so I guess I was hoping that she started off slow and picked up with in the past 6 months or so.

That doesn't add up and we already know Jereme doesn't do well with full disclosure of what kind of condition the animals are in that he sells. There should always be full transparency from a seller about what condition animals are in for a prospective buyer.

It's the end of '13 now, your animal is at least two years old, most likely closer to 2 1/2 and possibly even close to three years old. When was it supposed to be a good feeder and for how long? All animals do not grow at the same rate, we all know this, but for a two year old animal if it'd been a good feeder the whole time, it should easily be 1000 grams minimum, the 12-1500 grams mentioned before would be closer to what would probably be expected by most if it'd been a good feeder it's whole life. I have two '11 animals here that both hit the "800 gram wall" and shut down for about 5 months on feeding and both of them are in the 1000-1100+ gram range.

Best of luck with her, I hope she settles in and picks up feeding, makes up for some lost growth because if she doesn't the seller sure isn't showing signs of taking care of customers if anything goes wrong.

Well it seems we all need to keep this thread active and spread the word around. It really sucks to hear about this kind of stuff. Wow, $4500 dollars around the holiday's or any other time of the year is hard to swallow. If we keep this thread going maybe he'll decide to do the right thing and give a refund.

Right there telling me he dumped off a finicky eater on you. I have some female holdback hatchings from july/aug that are close to that weight, and a coral glow that weighs more.

This is a very sorry way of doing business. Total BS! He needs to man up .To many greedy crooks out there.

I was seriously considering buying one of his posted animals prior to this thread, weighing whether I wanted to sell off my immature animals and ride out the clutches from my mature remainders and perhaps add one more high-end trait into the mix. My choice to just ride things out gets cemented with my resolve after I am provided with information such as that which has been shared here thus far regarding the $4500 bad deal/theft and the inaccurate labeling of a finicky eater (if that is the case here as it currently seems).

As long as no conclusion is reached on this thread, and legitimate questions/concerns get left unanswered, this could easily become the downfall of someone's reputation here on Fauna.

What once was only a question about a $4,500 refund has now turned into additional possible connections to illegal animal possession/smuggling and misrepresentation of animals being sold.

As long as this thread remains open, more and more information (correct or not) will surface. More doubt will fill the minds of potential customers, this is not a winning situation if it is simply ignored.

Mr. James, you have viewed this thread this morning and have had time in the afternoon to post new ball python classifieds, why not time to respond to this thread?

Are you going to offer John a refund?
Are you the same person from the illegal animal possession site? If not, PLEASE say so so that at least this matter can be clarified and dismissed.

John, have you received a refund?

Since the OP, John Woolard, has not posted an update, I sincerely hope he's been busy in the background contacting the proper authorities/attorney to persue this issue.

Over the years, we've seen the so-called "good guys" come, build a rep and customer base, and then burn out as they took trusting customers into their own flames.

It seems like the breeders/vendors who turn out to be scammers, thieves, liars show up once or twice to plead their ego-laced, 'blame-everyone-else' defenses and then magically disappear.

Yeah, IMO, Jereme's lame, bloated defense would fall into that category above.

Sadly, I don't anticipate Jereme James posting again. John, I do hope you will take this to the next level and persue prosecution if Jereme has not communicated or refunded you privately over the past few days (since you first posted here).

I missed or maybe the OP never said how he paid for the snakes. If through a credit card or PayPal, have you tried disputing the charge?

Thank you to all of you who have posted and offered your insight here.
I sent Jereme James (Heronboy) a check for the snakes. He cashed the check, but I never received my snakes or a refund.
I have also not received any additional communication from Jereme James (Heronboy), other than what I posted on this thread, since the snakes have been back in his possession.
Thanks,
John

That is not normal. I have a young ball python that was hatched early this year that is over 650 grams. The age + weight should have been a dead giveaway that something was wrong with that snake. She might just be a really picky eater, but I would check her for parasites to be on the safe side.

Was it mentioned anywhere in the ad that she was a picky eater or had other health issues?

So he's online right now. Too bad that this thread can't be forced to make him view it and respond to it before moving on to other threads...

I have no idea if it's allowed, maybe a mod can chime in.If I were the OP,and it wasn't against the rules,I would post a link to this thread under every one of his classified ads!

:iagree: Guy, I've done exactly this in the past before. Not sure if it is against any rules or not, but I have done it.

My understanding is that the BOI exists for multiple reasons, one of which is to help "prevent" other Fauna members from running into issues/problems.

I think we all have been fair in giving Mr. James sufficient time to come here and resolve/clarify the issues at hand. In my opinion, it is okay to now move on to a further preventative phase and add links to his classifieds. Not everyone is going to check the BOI by themselves.

Individuals need to understand one way or another that as a collective, we are not up to these kind of business practices. Mr. James had bumped all his ads and added new ones. If I had to guess, sell off what you can quick on Fauna before this selling avenue ship sinks.

Guy Castro, generally it is frowned upon to interfere with classifieds ads (warnings are typically issued). Moderators have the power to do so, but regular members probably should refrain.

Much of the problem in the classifieds was resolved when replies by registered members were disallowed.
Members are encouraged to refer to the Fauna Feedback Forum for questions about rules. As it happens, there is a sticky there entitled Disruptive posting in a classified ad - understanding (and avoiding) the infraction that covers this topic.
