In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

How small is too small (personal gripe)

I'll have a table. No sign though. I am usually set up next to a guy that sells crested gecko's. Its a small show i wont be hard to find.

I speak from many years of breeding bearded dragons. in fact I was one of the first few guys to have imported red desert dragons to work with in the early 1990's
QUOTE]

I'm a bit interested in this, ED. If you were one of the guys to import Red Desert dragons, what or where exactly did they come from to make them different or even how did they come about having that name? Or, did you work with a particular line that you imported and over time coined this Red Desert term? I've only seen one person, or have known of one person to use that term as their stock and for their marketing. I don't recall seeing Red Desert Bearded Dragons back in the mid/late 90's. I'd like to know more about this.
Chris Allen

Edit....going back maybe I recall seeing Red Desert stuff around 2001 or 2002??

I would like to talk with you privately about these Chris, the first group of red desert dragons were imported in either 1990 or 1991, they were the first morph dragons. I was very lucky to get a large group of adults to work with.

I think i will leave this alone. Especially since Chris asked what is needed to know. Lets not pull anyone's leg here. Remember your talking with other breeders, who knows your past or have heard about it.

Chris this gnat is the reason I won't answer you here. his constant negative posting has turned me off from posting the important historical dragon breeding information I was about to post. I know few here know who and when, worked with dragon morphs years ago.

I little off topis....sorry bout that.

Yeah man Id like to start getting around to shows more to meet some of you guys, its just tough to drive all over the place between work and the kids.

Ive been there before, long time ago, its in a school or something right? I think it may have been the first time I met Rob and Vickie.

Post up, who cares.....I know that I'd like to here some of the stories/background. I was still quite young then, and only into colubrids for the most part. It was tough to find stuff though, I remember that. I remember sending out SASE for price lists out of the back of the magazines......I didn't have internet till mid/late 90's. The only person that I have seen though market red deserts for the most part is desert dweller...think its Dwayne. Post up some pictures too if you have them. Probably not digitial though from back then.

YOu make claims of being a "pioneer" of the red desert line but then only want to talk to one person in private about it instead of in the eye of everyone so we can all see proof of your claims that you have never backed up with anyone.

 really. come on man. You argue with anyone and everyone that looks at you funny but you want to stop posting all because someone constantly calls you on the "radical" claims you make that you never back up as fact (your claims of being a pioneer of the red desert line being a perfect example). You always get so huffy whenever your character is called into question yet you never disprove any of the claims brought against you.
If you want people to believe you and to probably get an apology from Tom (if one is deserved) post your PROOF of being a pioneer of the red line.

One of the oldest,if not the oldest breeders in the country that produced the color morphs that we see today in almost all lines is Bob Mailloux from Sandfire Dragon Ranch. There's also Pete Weiss, originator of Red Flames and German Giant. Dwayne Bulat Of Desert Dweller produces Desert Reds but I don't know if he named that line or not.

Thats exactly what I was telling someone, may have been Tom. I remember Pete and Phyllis with the redflames and of course Bob with Sandfire. I thought I remembered the first colored dragons as Sandfires(and of course the copy cats advertising their stuff as Sandfires). I just don't recall Red Deserts ever being marketed early on. I have some old issues of Reptiles from the mid 90's, like the first years it came out...I'll have to dig them up and see if I see anything.

Yes,Bob Mailloux is the real pioneer in the bearded dragon world...no one had the colors until he produced the sandfires...simply named red, orange, yellow and of course hypos. I got my first sandfire many years ago and my first redflame came from Pete and Phyllis out of Florida.

By any chance do you know if Paul Morlock is still around? He was the rep for Bob out here and did all the shows probably around 2000-2004 that I remember. He was one of the nicest guys I dealt with.

No,I don't...I was doing the Columbus show at that time [ the All-Ohio show which is one of the oldest in the country] and I only remember one of his reps. being there in the 90's.? I don;t remember his name. I didn't go to the Eastern Pa. shows,I'm on the Ohio line of Pa.

:bow01:

Who better help us than a 14-15 yr breeder!!! Thank you Angie.

Any recollection of Ed clark being a first time importer and founder of the Reds? Just wondering if there's any truth to the unproven words.

I really can't say Tom...I don't know who all of the breeders were, just the oldest that I personally am aware of and Bob Mailloux is indisputably the oldest...I forgot that he also had the sandfire "gold" and red/gold. You don't hear much about those today because people bought, reproduced and gave their own names to what they produced.

Hum, yea i have seen pics of the older morphs. In the book "bearded dragon Manuel". Alot of Photo's from Kevin Dunne. I will say that bearded dragons have come along way since the 90's.

I guess the Navy DID train you to have a good sense of humor!

Yea, it was me.
