    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Inquiry on Het Pieds from Ace Reptiles

Same thing

When i saw this thread i had to tell my story because the EXACT same thing happened to me with a trade with Tony. I traded him 2 venomoid snakes for a pair of "het" pieds. He then turned around not long after and sold them for FAR less than the "het" pieds were worth. I didnt keep any emails cause i was nieve but i felt the need to add my story here considering how closely it resembles this one. Granted i have not gotten the chance to prove them out. That will hopefully come this next season. I also made an inquiry here and got a coupe responses that were positive about Tony but noone that could say the got any "hets" from him that proved out. I hope this turns out to just be coincidence.

Also, I'm going to keep most of the discussions off of this forum until I know exactly what transpired (if anything). Even appearance of impropriety could damage someone's reputation unnecessarily, and that's not something I'd like to do to a "good guy". Don't wanna wind up like this guy :shootfoot

The pied male pictured belongs to me. The picture was lifted from my site. That pied is still here. I don't recall ever doing business with ACE Reptiles so I can't comment on the het pieds that you received (he didn't get them from me) but I can tell you that he doesn't own the pied in the picture that he sent to you.

Thank you for taking the time to post, Joe. It clears a lot of things up, but doesn't make things look too promising for those who purchased these "het pieds".

I honestly do not see how a guy advertising some Womas for sale before quarantining them for an acceptable time period to you or I, brings his ethics or integrity into question. He never stated that he produced the Womas or had them in his collection for any length of time, did he?
Are you the one who initiated your trade deal? You also did an inquiry on him before completing your deal. Now here you are posting a bad guy thread demanding (more)pics of an animal that is 1/2 way across the state on a breeding loan, with an index card with todays date on it, in a public forum, or else what? He's a bad guy... I would have no problem dealing with Tony/Ace Reptiles again in the future. You on the other hand I am not too sure of.

Thanks for bringing this to light, Joe. I enjoyed meeting you at White Plains w/ my wife....very nice animals you've got!

As for Mr. Kelly, perhaps you're not too good w/ geography, but the NY area and Joe Compel's facility is a little further than "1/2 way across the state" of FL. It was, however, kind of Tony to loan him a quality animal (his own) for breeding purposes, considering how hard it is for Joe to come by good stock on his own...LOL :rolleyes: Thank-you, Mr. Kelly from saving me the displeasure of dealing with you.

As for Tony, now I'll tell all....HE'S A BAD GUY....LIAR.....SCAMMER!!!!
I've been nice and fair up till now....with no proof, I just chalked it up to a lesson learned, cause something smelled fishy! Now I know for sure that I got scammed....I'll give him a call and see if I can salvage anything....if not, I may have to take a trip w/ my wife and father-in-law to Mets spring training in.... Port St. Lucie, FL.....hey, that's where Tony lives! :angry:
 
Well, he was back again, shown as viewing this thread for the last 45 minutes or so.....and now back offline, with not so much as a comment. I guess there's not much for him to say, there's not much refuting the evidence shown.

I just sent a link to this thread to the abuse coordinator on K.S. with a brief rundown of what transpired....no surprise to me, Tony won't answer his phone.....guess now it's just time to pass the word!

In response to your post #30, I have no splainin' to do.

You questioned Tony's ethics and integrity based on the fact that he was reselling the Womas you traded him before quarantining them. Also because he was asking slightly less than what the het, or not so het Pieds he gave you are valued at. Already said, If he had produced the "het Pieds" and wanted Womas it would not be a bad trade deal for him. Still, you gave him a JCP to even the trade value.
I made a trade deal with Tony. I traveled to his home to make the deal and saw the animals and enclosures at his house were kept clean. I also saw that the Womas and JCP were being quarantined. Maybe not for any length of time before being sold, but from his other animals.
I did mention this thread to Tony and he said that his male Pied was in Ft.Meyers, FL(Not N.Y.) on a breeding loan, and that he was going to post a recent pic asap. He also said that you were an impatient a-hole and posted this thread(after already doing an inquiry on him before making your deal,) before he had a chance to get the pics from the guy he claimed to be in possession of his pied.
I thought it was kinda' early to post this thread. Although it seems to have confirmed your paranoid suspicions and exposed a "Bad Guy" selling false hets it could have very easily caused an undeserved smear on a "Good Guy's" reputation had his story been true.
As for my previous post(#18.) Due to recent information in this thread, I can't say that I would have no problem dealing with Tony again. Other than that, what I posted before was my feelings on this thread at that time. However, I am alright with you never having had the "displeasure" of dealing with me :rolleyes: .
 
The reason I asked for some type of explanation was because of the way you seemed to jump to his defense in your first post. It sure seemed to me like you had first-hand knowledge of Joe's...I mean Tony's Pied male and its location.

As far as me being impatient....perhaps I was, but when I laid out my concerns for him over the phone, including what others had told me, he seemed to blow me off and then told me he'd send pics when he got home....perhaps he expected Joe to have more pics on his website of that Pied....when I didn't hear from him, I figured I pretty much knew what was up.

If Tony had indeed been a "Good Guy", he had more than one opportunity to respond to my concerns. He would have posted his snakes (at least that pretty male of his..er Joe's) and I would have been shown to be the impatient a-hole he said I was.

If you recall the bulk of this thread, I feel I've been pretty open to an explanation from Mr. Copertino, and I've been quick to say that (up until Joe Compel's post) this was not a "Bad Guy" post because I had no concrete proof of wrongdoing....just a bad feeling. I think my jab at you was the first thing I typed off the cuff, and it was unnecessary....for that I apologize. I do, however, stand by the way I handled the rest of this.

I'm one of the guys who PM'd Mike about a past deal with Tony Copertino. I narrowly escaped buying a "het" from him when a friend and I caught him in a lie. We were both inquiring about the same animal (unbeknown-st to Tony) and got completely different stories about it. When I asked him about it he got real confrontational and followed it up with plummeting the price on the animal in question. It was one of those things that I knew without a doubt in my heart that this guy is the king of scumbags, but now it's nice to actually have the pictures to prove it. Thanks for posting Joe!
 
Dealings with A.C.E. reptiles

On Nov 11th 2007 I made a trade with Tony, I gave him a pastel male, some cinnie male hatchlings, some possible het pied male yearlings, a 100% het ghost male adult, and 15 hatchling and sub adult females, all of the female hatchlings were produced by me from co-dom clutches.....normals, the yearlings were captive hatched imports. The main trade was the cinnie males for a pinstripe female, I included the other animals to sweeten up the deal for him and clean out a little bit of rack space. I am happy with the pinstripe, she is doing great, feeding and growing well. The other animals I saw at Tony's were well cared for and clean. This post is not to endorse or discredit A.C.E. reptiles in any way.

I tried calling, w/ no luck.....he obviously knows he's busted, and I don't foresee him returning the snakes I traded (judging by the ads on KS, 2 have already sold), or paying me the trade value on them.

I've been in touch with KS and surprise!!!....they can't do anything until I formally file w/ federal authorities. I've been kicking this idea around a bit, but the one thing I'm concerned with is the fact that I didn't save the original e-mails. I may contact them anyway to see if I have any recourse or if there is a way to retrieve the lost e-mails.....clacking away at a keyboard occasionally is the extent of my computer saavy :eek:

Speaking of KS, I wonder how fast they'd pull an ad for 1.2 100% Fake Het Pieds....I mean, if I accurately represent the snakes, their health, and the source of acquisition, I can't possibly be violating any TOS......right? :rofl:

Perhaps it's just best to expose him for who he is and cut my losses before I give myself an ulcer :shrug01: Any other suggestions are welcome!

Sorry for your loss. I would file a federal complaint or whatever KS wants. At that point, they should at least suspend his account. That could reduce the chance of him scamming others using KS. You might also file an internet fraud claim. At least get this guy in the system. Enough complaints and someone will start looking at him very closely.

I believe the big issue and bad for all of us, is that we let these guys off too easy. If you sell 10K in fakes and your only punishment is a "Bad Guy" on the BOI, damn that's easy money. It's time for us (all of us) to step up and look out for each other.
